At The Bar
Apollyon made his way to the bar. gulping the wine in his glass in the time it took to travel there
"Scotch on the rocks please. And another wine, oh and some brandy also" Apollyon Stated. The Barkeep flashed an incredulous glare at him and he widened his eyes at him to show he was serious about what he had just stated. The barkeep immediately worked on his order and completed it within moments.
"Thanks, "Apollyon stated and Placed a $50 Bill on the bar "Keep them coming when you see any of my glasses empty"
Apollyon had the desire of meeting some of his fellow clan members tonight , and perhaps some others. He wasn't terribly familiar with his new surrounding and decided it would be in his best interests to have some connections here, whether social, clan or otherwise. However He was a gentleman regardless of what some thought of him. he would not ham-fist his way into conversing with anyone. He decided his best opportunity would be staying close to the bar.
Pleased to see a fellow feline in the crowd, Cyrus' smile was happy and only slightly predatory. "Amberelle you beauty, come meet Darius. Darius this is one of the family's younger crew, Amberelle."
Restraining his baser urges or saying too much in this public setting was difficult. Though Suki chose that moment to place her hand on his hip. Sheepishly he introduced her as well.
"Amberelle, this is Suki my famil...y friend." His slip had his face mirroring the look Darius had just had. Some days it just didn't pay to give more than a nod or raise a bottle to others. "Love, this is Amberelle."
Deciding now was a good time to shut up, he took a long draught of his beer.
"Pleasure to meet you, Amberelle."
Noting the man a few stools down in the thigh boots, Suki smiled and nodded at him. Poor thing, hope he isn't here all alone, its a rather intimidating party.
His eyes followed another woman who entered the bar area, and appeared alone. She was dressed in a Grecian goddess type dress, which he found highly amusing. There was no way he'd buy she was that old, therefore, she must be human, in his mind...and he wondered if she was alone. She surely was amazing looking in the white gown, though not any more attractive than the other ladies at the bar. However, his excitement was shot down when she picked up her drink and then left the bar. She did smile his way, and he was half tempted to go after her. But Nic was not the type to chase...he liked to be the one being chased.
His attentions moved back to the two women in the also beautiful dresses. The longer fuller dress had it's merits, but Nic really thought the black number was more alluring...at least to him. He kept his eyes on the blond, and hoped maybe she'd turn his way.
"Stop..." He told himself. "The past is gone forever remember?"
After coming out of his moment of contemplation he beamed a smile at this masterpiece of the female form.
"Hello, Milady. I am Darius Jesu Sarimir"
Turning to Suki, she blinked once as he introduced the young woman. 'My my.. a familiar. That's rather odd for one of our kin from what all I was told. But then again it *was* Gustav so he probably was lying through his teeth like he does every time he speaks,' the blonde thought darkly.
Smiling at Suki, Amberelle set her mask down on the bar and held a hand out to her. Glancing her up and down she gave her a beaming, teasing smile.
Pleased to meet you Suki.. and welcome to the family then. I do hope you can keep this wildcat in line now.. She winked at Cyrus.
Returning his empty bottle to the bartender, he slipped him a tip as well, and sauntered towards the doorway. He made sure to nod and smile at the two ladies as he passed. Men rarely existed with Nic, when there were beautiful women around. Though as bored as Nic was becoming, he wondered if maybe he should have found his little friend Addison, and invited him. Nah..Nic decided he still had hopes for the evening, as he walked into the dining area.
(Nic out)
Reminded of their time romping in the woods together at the manor always piqued his interest in his clanmate. "We definitely have several common interests; Moonlit walks, gazebos, climbing trees."
As the tight clad fellow walked away from the bar, smiling at the two ladies, Cyrus had to restrain his snarl. While one wasn't his, he could still feel possessive at times. The prior slip ups firmly in mind he managed to keep it down to just one minor lip curl. Though the guy definitely wasn't looking his way. Shame, the mongol itched to swing his sword once more.
Odd how social occasions always made him inclined to be very antisocial.
Amberelle just grinned at him when he offered to let her assist Suki. With a playful swat at his arm she shook her head, eyes twinkling. I'm far too possessive with my... toys.. to be of any 'help'.. Winking at the cute brunette, she casually continued, But perhaps I could give you a few pointers with Suki here, if you're a visual learner.
She grinned at him as she took a sip of her wine and arched an eyebrow suggestively before she burst into giggles.
Turning to their other companion at the bar, she tilted her head slightly and looked at him curiously. Have you been in Nachton long, Darius? I don't think I've seen you around before..
He gave Cyrus a playful pat on the back as he downed the rest of his brandy and switched to his scotch. His attention shifted to Amberelle as he spoke
"No, this is my first week in this city. I've Moved here from New York less than 72 hours ago." he paused, and thought briefly of his first night in Nachton, "Quite an enchanting city, I must say" he paused again to sip on his scotch, Savoring the bite as it crept down his throat. He looked Amberelle in the eyes as he finished.
"So , tell me. How long has your tenure here been?"
Noting his familiars hungry look at the plates being handed out, Cyrus stroked her back with his hand. "Love, could you bring us a plate of those appetizers while you get yourself something?"
No worries. She could just have the waiter bring them whatever else was wanted when he made his delivery to the bar. Making her way back to the group she admired the kimono clad person and as well as the woman in flannel. She briefly wished she had dressed in something wildly inappropriate as well.
I moved here just a few months ago from New Orleans, to stay with some cousins. Apparently just in time. She smiled faintly, slightly pained thinking about the destruction in her beloved home town. Now, I've never been to New York, but obviously it's a lively place to live. What would make you leave there and come to Nachton?
Glancing about as Suki left, her eyes moved over a table where.. it couldn't be. No way.. she whispered under her breath. Seeing a redhead in jeans and flannel, she was a little surprised. And envious. 'I could have done that too, but noooo.. damn upbringing.'
Eyes roving the table she spied what looked like the artist from the gallery.. umm.. Nyra! And she couldn't see his face from this angle but it looked to be Alec as well. 'Damn.. and they're putting out steak too. I need to get over there and bug them. I wonder if Jan showed up..' She snapped out of her brief musing to listen to her companions here at the bar again.
"New York is an incredible place to live." [i]he paused for a long moment and took a long, long sip of his scotch as he glanced up at the ceiling.
"I made my share of mistakes and then some" He paused again, this time noticing the attention of his companion had left him. he continued anyway, "Staying there wasn't possible.Aside from that, I had heard many great things about Nachton for many years. I had already began o look for suitable property months before I actually came, however another mistake forced me to move before I was fully ready." [i]he still noticed her attention gone from him, her eyes darting about the room.he noticed some moments later he regained her attention. Finishing his scotch he said
"Forgive me Mademoiselle," pausing a brief second, " But am I keeping you from your friends?"
'Thngs get so complicated sometimes,' she sighed to herself. 'Friends in other clans, I never would have thought it of myself. And then again, I have no idea who or what Darius here is. Maybe he's one too and I'm just drawn to 'bad' boys.' She shook off that thought and turned her attention to him fully.
It looks like they're putting out the entrees now. Would you like to move to a table? She glanced at Cyrus as well, including him in the question. Perking up a little at a sudden bright idea, she grinned at the tall Roman.
How about since you're new in town.. I could introduce you to some of the people I know! Now mind you, I don't know many being new myself, but I'd be glad to introduce you.
Sliding a glance at Darius, Cyrus thought for a moment. Nope, the fellow hadnt mentioned which clan he was in. "Speaking of families, I never did find out Darius'. He could be in the older one, younger one or even the unrecognized one. But whichever way I wont hold it against him. Poor man is trapped in a tin can!"
"Table or Bar is fine by me." Cyrus thought a minute, remembering ages. "Though it may take some manuvering to help Suki sit in those hoops."
"I certainly understand. Older families tend to have strict loyalties and many enemies,Such is like mine. My blood line descends from roman noblility, and we fervorantly believe in family loyalty."
"hmm that seemed clear enough." He thought to himself.as he lowered his scotch glass back to the bar.He thought again about who she reminded him of... He couldent believe he'd meet not only a dead rigner for his departed sister, but a near match to his first love also, "incredible" he said to himself, he could have whispered it under his breath also.He smiled and returned
"a Table sounds lovely, but I dont want to inconvience poor Suki." he turned to her again and took another look at her garb, "Damn thats gotta be unconfortable" he said to himself, and served to only remind him of the searing head inside the breastplate.he looked back into Amberelle's eyes and replied to her offer, deciding they had to be anantya from their dialoguel; he said,
"Sounds lovely.I'd be honored to be accompanied by you and get further acquanted with my fellow family members."
(Ooc: Forgive any spelling errors, Had 3 hours sleep last night and work sucked today =P)
Looking around he noticed a man sitting all alone at a table near a wall. Perfect, if the fellow didn't mind sharing. Since he saw no only Anantya table he figured mingling would work. Chryseis had someone with her, so he was lery of intruding. "Lets go see if that young man in green wouldnt mind sharing his table."
Cyrus shot the bartender a look as he dropped money on the counter, not caring if he was a few hundred dollers over what it should be. "Keep the drinks coming to our table please, at this same rate and COLD beer for me."
Picking up his spear, he spun it casually with a practiced air, before offering his arm to Suki.
"Let us claim a table for our family then cousins!"
Grinning happily at Cyrus' suggestion of a table, she nodded her agreement. Shifting her wine glass to one hand the blonde made sure to pick up her cat mask with the other as they prepared to leave the bar. Excellent choice then cousin! Do lead the way, I'm sure you can be more.. convincing.. than me in getting him to share the table.
Picturing her feline kindred as more likely to snarl and roar at the guy and scare him into it than actually being polite and persuasive, she bit the corner of her mouth to supress a giggle. Turning her mirth filled amber gaze to the Roman beside her, she asked, Shall we?
"Dammit Apollyon,"He said in his mind," You're doing great thus far.just hold it together for another few hours. then you can be your usual self again." he would normally never exact such care in interacting with other people, but this was the beginning of his stay in Nacton, and he couldn't afford to disgust or offend those in his clan or those who could assist him in the future. His eyes fixed on Amberelle as she put on her mask, he almost wanted to ask her to keep it off, her face was a near masterpiece of Symmetry.he was almost tempted to ask her to up and leave this place and spend the rest of the night together, but once again his superego kicked on. "Don't fuck this up, apollyon.there wont be many places to retire to if you screw up here.now be cordial." Coming out of his musing, he flashed the bartender a gaze to gain his attention.
"I will be retiring to that table over yonder," He pointed to their intended destination. and put a bill bearing the face of Benjamin Franklin onto the bar."If you keep me happy with my drinks, Ben may be expecting some company." the bartender nodded in agknowledgement.
Apollyon turned back to Amberelle and stated "Indeed"
