Connie smiled at Meegan and Aron. "Nyra wanted to dance, but unfortunately, I cannot. Well, I can," she admitted begrudgingly, "it's just that when I do, I tend to get a little... spastic, I guess, or maybe uncoordinated or just uncareful... and people get hurt. The last Ball I went to my date's leg ended up broken and several people had bruises."
It certainly wasn't something Connie was proud of, but she wanted to have conversation at the table, and not sit in almost-not-quite-comfortable silence while Meegan and Aron fondled each other under the table. "So I figured, she and Rachyl know each other, and they would have fun."
Dinner and Dancing ((Open)
Meegan had allowed Aron to help her off with her coat and check it in the small cloak room. They had made their way in and she took a moment to let her eyes adjust to all the different costumes and colors. Her left hand was curled around Aron's arm and her right was entwined with Rachyl's.
This would be her first event in Nachton. She'd never bothered to attend anything before as she could avoid them with soirees given by people she knew out of town. They had enjoyed small talk and wine before dinner was announced. They took a table for six, leaving three seats open. She hoped someone she knew would join them, and help her feel just that much less socially inept.

Meegan had watched Rachyl and Nyra go off to the dance floor and start dancing. She toyed gently with her vegetables until Connie's words brought her back to earth
"That's terrible for you! I like to dance, but I prefer club music and the fast hard dancing that comes with it. This ballroom stuff intimidates me a bit."
She pushed her plate away, not really that hungry to begin with and sipped from her wine.
