Modern Marvel

Duibne Industries is one of Nachton's modern marvels. It is a high tech facility that is the administrative flag ship of DI. Located on the edge of the Industrial section, the twenty thousand square foot, 3 tiered building took 5 years and 300 million dollars to complete.

It is comprised of several thousand tons of steel and glass. The South Tower holds the law and business offices. More than 1000 lawyers and financial advisors are employed in the South Tower. The North Tower, which includes a penthouse office for CEO Marthinus T. Steyn, is the medical division of Duibne. In conjunction with the South Tower, Steyn heads up the division that deals with their major cash crop, genetic cloning, but more specific - synthesizing blood. Here is an except from Marthinus T. Steyn's recent press conference during the petition to start human trials.

"We are a large scale drug company that deals with advancing technology and synthesizing blood. Nobody disputes the value of sharing blood. But in the last 15 years, trading in blood has become a huge, virtually unregulated market - with no ceiling on prices, with nonprofit blood banks vying with one another for control of the blood supply, with decisions often driven by profits and corporate politics, not medical concerns. So in essence, if we create it, we can sell it."

The remaining tower is simply called 'The Center'. Within The Center lies the administrative offices of Duibne. 5000 employees are located here to run the lucrative processing lab located in the basement facilities. Anything from clerical paperwork, IT programmers to the 1000 biological, genetic or nurelogical scientists designing new strains of existing medcines, cures and diseases are handled in The Center.

The security is state of the art technology and DI employs an enormous staff to ensure the saftey and secrecy of Duibne's work. The entire facility is locked down by voice, retinal, and DNA identification. Computer panels line the hallways of the entire facility. Each employee of Duibne is registered within its massive database. No unauthorized personnel can infiltrate its walls. Only the lobby is open to the public and access is restricted to employees or clients of Duibne. The 4 elevator banks that consist of three large capcity, high speed elevators are security clearance only. There is a private elevator to the penthouse offices of Mr. Steyn.

Duibne Industries currently strives hard to enhance the quality of life with its ground breaking research. It is a multi billion dollar a year business that donates hundreds of millions yearly to further outside research and charities.

The outside lawns are full of Nachton's native night blooming flowers and orante fountains. In the center, directly in front of the main doors, is a plaque dedicated to the City of Nachton and Duibine, its champion for a better quality of life.
