Description (if an NPC) or name of your creator(if a PC): Colin Maguire – Born 792 AD in Rome, turned in 842 AD while on pilgrimage. Continues to work with the Church, finding that service eases his soul of the sins he must commit to survive. He believes he was chosen for this role as a test of his faith in God. He tends to come across as a bit of a religious zealot, but his heart truly is in the right place. He accepts everyone as they are ~ he’s lived too long and seen too many things to try and judge the world around him. He stands about 6’2”, has salt-and-pepper hair and deep brown eyes surrounded by laugh lines. In public he wears what he calls “missionary clothing” ~ khakis and button down shirts and is always seen wearing a cross. He spends the majority of his time in 3rd world countries, working with the natives to expand their knowledge of his religion, as well as studying their own customs. This study of the merger of outside influence and native customs has become a bit of a hobby for him.

Personal History (Please be detailed, this creates your basis for your character)
Maeve was born Meadhbh Fraser to the head of the Fraser clan in the Highlands of Scotland. She was the youngest child and her mother died in childbirth. Her father doted on her outrageously. As a small child, she idolized her older brother and would follow him and his friends around. One of those friends was Latharn. Over time Latharn and Maeve became friends and that friendship developed into much more. Unlike her other siblings her father allowed her to marry strictly for love and there was no other choice for her but her childhood friend. They were married when she was sixteen, and over the next eight years had three children. When she was 24, a clan war erupted and her husband was killed.
Latharn’s death sent her into deep despair and eventually causing her to lose her mind for a time. Against all that she had been raised to believe, her grief led her to attempt to take her own life. As she lay dying, the local priest, Colin, that she had known most of her life found her. He was horrified by what he saw. He went to her side demanding to know what she had done. His words snapped her out of her madness and she began to cry from regret. She told the priest how sorry she was for what she had done and begged him to help her somehow. That was when she learned the truth of the man she thought she knew. He told her that he could save her, but that there was a price. She watched fearful as he bared his fangs, but with her last few breaths begged him to save her. Reluctantly, Colin did as she asked.
When she finally recovered from being turned, she felt a hunger unlike anything she had known. At Colin’s explanation of what she needed, she realized the true folly of her situation. She was equally as damned as if she had succeeded in killing herself. Colin took her hunting for the first time and it was almost more than she could stand. After feeding she returned to her home and watched her children sleeping. She had done this for them, but knew that she would have to leave them someday before someone began to suspect what she was. After watching her children for a time, she sat by her fire and wept for the trap that she had set for herself.
For the next few months, Colin taught her all that she needed to know about her new life, and confirmed that she would have to leave her home in a few years. He told her about the clans, Evenhet, and Nachton. He also told her that when she left her home that he wanted to take her Nachton to meet the clan elders. He also shared more about his life with her and they became close friends. About a year later, he felt that it was time for him to move on to a new city and a new identity, though he kept in frequent contact with her after he left. Over the next few years she gradually adapted to her new existence, though she never came to enjoy the hunt as Colin had told her some do. To her hunting was and is a necessary evil that she must do to survive, nothing else.
She stayed with her children and family as long as she dared. She used her grief over her husband’s death to explain away why she stayed indoors and hidden away from most people during the day. After eleven years, she realized that the time was drawing close for her to find a way to leave. She heard the whispers and knew that her excuses were wearing thin. She wrote to Colin and asked for his help. He told her he’d come as soon as he could. He arrived a few months before her daughter’s wedding, and stayed hidden in the surrounding countryside. Together they planned her exit. She fought bitterly against his idea, but he finally convinced her that it was the best he could come up with.
She told her family that she needed to go to Edinburgh to get some special fabric for her daughter’s wedding dress. Her father sent two of her kinsmen with her on the trip. She was determined that her daughter should have the most beautiful dress possible for her wedding. She made the trip and purchased the finest fabric that she could find. On the return trip, she faked her death and her kinsmen were left to return with the fabric and news of her death. She was deeply depressed after this and almost inconsolable. One night she snuck back to her family home and watched her daughter’s wedding from afar with tears falling down her cheeks. Colin found her and decided it was time to take her Nachton.
She met the elders of Evenhet and others in the clan. She found a place for herself within the clan transferring much of her devotion to her human clan to her new vampire clan. She only stayed in Nachton for a few months before she told Colin she needed to leave and spend some time on her own. She went back to the old world and purchased a small shot in London. She began to design and sell clothes quickly becoming the favorite designer to the rich and influential. Every dozen years or so she would close up her shop and move to another town and open another shop. She preferred to stay on the British Isles moving between England and Scotland, but would occasionally spend time on the mainland of Europe.
She was back in Scotland with a shop in Edinburgh in 1792 when a local Madame, named Fiona Gerarde, entered her shop. They began to talk and eventually found out that they were both part of the Evenhet clan. She and Fiona managed to strike up a friendship even though they didn’t see eye to eye on many things. Maeve told her about Nachton and the elders, but was unable to give her any information about Philipe. Even after they went their separate ways they stayed in contact over the years. It was this friendship that prompted her return to Nachton.
