From above...Open snarkiness
Yuu took lead and pulled Tai towards the stairs leading up. The balcony was still rather empty, much to Yuu's delight so she navigated them towards a dark corner and pulled Tai close.
'Quick, let's make out. Hopefully we'll get caught!' She put her hands on her companions lapels and gave him a quick lick on his lips. 'Lord knows how filthy boring this will be tonight.'
The first evening together in Tai's room was just short of explosive. Leave it to her to find someone so compatible and sexually adept only to have him in town on business. Not that she was considering marrying him or anything, but she was hoping for at least a dozen more romps, a few in public places, before he left to return to Japan. She liked Tai...no correction she wanted Tai and she didn't let go of what she wanted too easily.
Yuu hoped he felt the same way.
The view he got of Yuu's ass... ets, heading up the stairs, wasn't bad either. In spite of the stuffy atmosphere (and he wasn't referring to the humidity, he thought, with a slight sneer at the crowd in general) he was in a relatively good mood. He could mix business with pleasure tonight, apparently.
Slightly amazed that in a ballroom this open there was a dark corner anywhere, he accompanied Yuu to what was, indeed, a fairly obscure, shaded corner of the balcony. They could see the diners below, as well as the sweeping dance floor. His attention was diverted, not unwillingly, by Yuu's quick caress.
Tai dipped his head down toward hers, tawny eyes sparkling in the dim light, and nipped lightly at her wicked little tongue.
"Filthy boring? How is that possible?" he asked. One arm slipped around her waist and the other hand rose to her ribcage, gently sliding along the liquid silk of her gown. He stroked the pad of his thumb lightly across the swell of her breast, his own body blocking the view from anyone who might be glancing in their direction.
"Well... filthy, perhaps. I can't see how it could get boring."
Pulling away just a bit, he realized Yuu probably wouldn't be opposed to another interlude like the other night. Perhaps several more. He found himself, for once, reluctant to complete his assignment and return home. Tai shrugged inwardly, however. Associating with the assistant DA wihle he was here was a brilliant stroke of chance and luck. He wasn't going to turn it down, but anything more? Hardly likely.
Stepping toward the railing a bit, he did peer over the side now. "Is there anyone in particular with whom you are supposed to socialize tonight?"
Yuu was the one with the prominent position here; for all intents and purposes, Tai was simply her date. And that suited him fine.
'Just my boss really, but the rest look interesting.' A waiter walked by, intruding on their dark space, carrying champagne flutes and Yuu reached out and grabbed two.
'Why don't we drink up and then start mingling?'
As he once more offered his arm to Yuu, he turned around and found that their balcony was no longer deserted. His eyes swept over the people depositing bags and shawls over the chairs of the next table over, but he made no comment except to raise his eyebrows at Yuu when one of the women shrugged out of an amazingly fuzzy wrap to reveal a floor-length gown in an almost offensive shade of green, completely covered in - of all things - sequins.
Tai hurried past the group, but not before mentally congratulating himself on yet another stroke of luck. One of the men in that party was none other than Nakayama Hiroshi... otherwise known as the Prime Objective. Target, Victim, and Deadman-To-Be would also do.
Tai could have said he wouldn't have wished the sequin-bedecked woman on his worst enemy, but... listening to her emit a laugh that was, at best, reminiscent of a hyena in heat, he thought it was somewhat fitting.
This time he didn't look at Yuu. He was afraid he'd lose it and laugh. Loudly. And for a very long time. He did, however, grip her arm in an attempt to forestall the inevitable.
'I wonder if there are place cards?' Wandering closer to the middle of the ballroom she found the chart. 'Hmm, I wonder who Nakayama Hiroshi is, we're sitting with him and his party.' Yuu looked up and gave Tai an inquisitive look.
He shrugged; it really wasn't of any interest to him what they made, and he wasn't a highly technically-minded person when it came to things of that nature. He knew about as much as the average Tokyo native in that respect.
Looking around at the growing crowd in the ballroom, Tai was surprised at the variety of people who seemed to be in attendance. Young and old, different ethnic backgrounds... he'd heard Nachton attracted all types, but to see it was really something else.
"Lead the way," he suggested to Yuu. "I'm all yours."
It didn't matter much to him where they went. Nakayama was up on the balcony, and he wasn't going to be going anywhere. He was ready to play the charming date for a while. It wasn't difficult to do so with Yuu, even if it was a front.
She gave Tai a brilliant smile. She liked how he was always so complacent, although he was very different in bed. Yuu blushed thinking about it. Hopefully they'll get a chance to invade a broom closet before they had their dinner...someting with asparagus she figured.
