Shopping ((Open))

Suki wandered up and down the strip as the sun faded across the sky. Firey reds melted into purples and oranges merged into greenish blues. She loved this time of night. Once the lights came on she began window shopping in earnest.

With her nice bonus from Cyrus she planned on splurging for some really neat work clothes. Maybe some awesome shoes too. Thankfully she had the night off tonight so she could spend it doing anything she wanted.

Tapping her vibrant red nails against the glass of a shoe store she contemplated going in. It was kind of upscale which made her leery as she had dressed as if for work so she fit in while shopping for work clothes. Her miniskirt was black and yellow plaid with pleats along the back and three large kilt pins down the front flap. The yellow tights covering her legs were then covered again with spiderweb fishnets. Her mock turtleneck was black with yellow and red pinstripes. Everything was topped of with a shiney pleather coat that was longer than her skirt. Her hair was pulled up in a messy array of two braids twisted and tangled up while held in the design by two black hairsticks.

Suki wished Fallon had at least commented on what she liked and handed things out for her to hang back up. Instead she was cooling her heels, and pawing through the leather corsets, of which she found the perfect one for work. Setting it on the counter she smiled at her friend Jamie who was actually Jasmine's daughter. Slipping her charge card across the counter she indicated silently that everything would be on it. Adding several pairs of the panties, as well as a silk dressing gown in bronze for Fallon and a matching one in black for Cyrus, she watched Jamie wrap everything up in tissue paper.

"Your already done?! And just those two, did the others not fit or feel comfortable?"

Suki's bag was heavy and large to fit the long leather corset. The bag that she planned on taking to the hotel was set aside and the bag for Fallon was being gently filled with her meager choices. "Drats, ok, no candles. I can work with that."

Looking around she smiled at Jamie. "Did you guys get in that shipment of stockings yet?" Clapping happily at the woman's nod, she was estatic when a sample packet was placed on the counter. Their hose supplier had an innumerable number of styles, shades and textures. Suki picked out a dozen of the most funky ones for herself and offered them up to Fallon as Jamie went in the back to get them.

"Are you sure I cant interest you in anything else or are we off to the jeweler?"
Fallon 18 years ago
Grinning at Suki's questions, Fallon just shook her head.

"A couple of the others have potential, but I'm only allowing myself two this trip."

As her items were wrapped in tissue and placed in a bag, Fallon watched Suki. The confidence the woman had all but seeped from her pores, and Fallon knew she could learn a lot from her, if she wanted. Number one seemed to be Suki's ability to take risks. Fallon wanted to be like that...try something because it looked fun, or just because, and not worry about any repercussions.

Seeing the stockings, Fallon chose a couple pair to wear with the bustier, and a couple other pair to wear for every day.

"I think the jeweler is next on my agenda."

Fallon said brightly, and held out her arm to Suki.

"Shall we?"
Suki Langston 18 years ago
Reluctantly admitting defeat for the moment, Suki signed the slip for everything and thanked Jamie. Fallon had her bag and Suki had two as they left the shop. Leaving the quiet soft world of lingerie for the neon and concrete of the strip. Together they walked up the street towards jewellery.

"Since you did not answer traditional or piercing, we are heading to Sparkling Gem which is a bit higher priced as they have their own manufacturing on site but they do anything."

The walk was not an exceptionally long one, but they did have to go a few blocks. Suki wondered about this woman, how she and Cyrus met. Things that may be important to know later should she be requested to purchase things for her. "So, if you dont mind me asking, how did you and Cy meet? Are you his age?"
Fallon 18 years ago
"Oh Suki...I'm sorry. I guess my mind is a bit scattered, at the moment."

Yes...the jewelry she wanted...not conventional, in the least.

"I'm looking for something in gold...special...not traditional...definitely for piercings. And for this I'm not going to worry about money...I have a picture of what I'm looking for in my head, so if they don't have it, maybe they can make it!"

The more Fallon thought about the gift, the more excited she became. The little pillow she had been working on for Cyrus now paled in comparison to her idea...which she hoped he would like.

Arm in arm, Fallon felt again like a new woman. Being out with Suki like this felt so normal. She liked feeling normal. Whoever would have thought it would take making her into a vampire for her to finally achieve such a feeling.

"It is really funny that you ask that. I've only known Cyrus such a short time, but already I can barely remember what my life was like without him in it.

We met in a convenience store...if you can believe it. He asked me to dinner, and we just sort of clicked. I think he felt sorry for me...I had just come from a bit of a nasty marriage..."

Fallon's mind didn't want to rehash all that right now, and didn't think Suki would be interested anyway.

"He took me in...helped me get my bearings...and just stuck around. I think both of us were surprised when our feelings began to change."

Smiling at Suki, Fallon would have been shocked to see how her face just screamed that she was in love.

"How about you? Where did you meet Cyrus?"
Suki Langston 18 years ago
Suki was stunned. Now she was confused and shocked. Cyrus, the man who had told her that humans were food not friends was romantically involved with Fallon. Fallon, whom Suki was now being confused by. Was the woman human or vampire?

Unsure how to tred here she asked her questions as casually as possible.
"Wow, a convenience store? Thats a bit unusual but very sweet."

"So you are not Cyrus' age. Have you seen his leopard?" She asked the last part with trepidation, hoping she was not divulging secrets. If Fallon had no clue what she was talking about then she would make up some silly sculpture story or something.

"We met at the bar I waitress at, House of Pain. I was so helpful he offered me a job and I still work there occasionally to network."
Fallon 18 years ago
"His age? No...I'm only twenty eight."

Fallon giggled. It never occurred to her to think Suki didn't know all about her boss, or at least that he was a vampire. For whatever reason she assumed Suki knew the same about her, so she didn't elaborate.

"But there's nothing about that man that indicates he's at all hundreds of years old."

Naturally Fallon's voice had dropped to a quiet tone. She was ever so conscious of the necessity for being discreet.

"And yes...I have met his cat...I adore his cat."

Not only because his cat had always been good with her, but because he was just as much Cyrus, as the vampire was. At least to Fallon. So how could she do anything less than love the cat as well?

"Pardon me, but you've used that word a few times tonight...what do you mean by 'networking'?"

Fallon asked in complete curiousness.

"House of Pain? Wow...that doesn't sound like a place of much fun. Though if you work there, and Cyrus has been there, I'd have to guess its name doesn't represent what it actually stands for...?"

Yet again...Fallon hesitated in actually asking what kind of a place it was.
Suki Langston 18 years ago
Suki was confused. She was sure Fallon was a vampire since Cyrus was dating her and took her to the Manor. Even Suki had not been invited to the Manor yet. So in her mind that counted Fallon as vamp not familiar. Deciding she would ask Cyrus rather than continue to dance around the subject with Fallon she moved on to explaining her 'networking' comments.

"I consider networking to be meeting people and making acquaintances with them. Once I know them or enough I can give Cyrus information about meeting people. Before he had me to assist him, he spent all his time hunting" The last word was barely audible above a breath.

They were almost to the jeweler so Suki slowed down slightly, fiddling with the bags in her hand. "The House is a bar. At first I was pretty sure it was just a goth type atmosphere but I learned otherwise swiftly. I met Cyrus there when I waited on him. He was there numerous times and I started pointing out women looking for a good time or goths looking to play vampire victim. I still work there three days a week to keep contacts fresh and make new, but Cyrus pays me enough not to need to. I am thinking about starting some college courses to meet more people too."

They were at the door to Sparkling Gem. The shopfront was thick paned safety glass with a tastefull array of their wares displayed on amber velvet. Opening the door for Fallon again, Suki shrugged and smiled at the brunette. "Its a habit!"

Inside the store was a refined sense of art and money. The store was done in browns and yellows, with the amber of the display velvet being the focal point. Plush comfortable chairs sat in front of glass cases which held precious gems and a wide variety of metals. Behind a counter were large windows that peeked into half a dozen stations for jewellers to create anything requested. Everything in the store was made in this shop, their motto was 'Creating your Custom wishes here." They had everything from standard diamond chip earrings to black pearl waist chains to traditional to modern body adornment.

"Unfortunately I dont know anyone here, so we get to make friends! Isnt this fun?" Suki smiled at Fallon.
Fallon 18 years ago
Appreciating Suki's discretion, Fallon nodded at the explanation the girl gave on 'networking'.

"That place sounds a little like a bar over near where I live. I...'hunt'...there a lot. The people seem to be happy, and a few drinks always makes them more receptive to casual conversation with 'strange women'."

Fallon lowered her voice as Suki had, when she spoke of hunting...and being 'strange'. She also smirked when she spoke finding the conversation a bit strange in itself. But it was nice having people around she could talk to about such things...and not worry if they didn't happen to be 'in the know'.

Giggling as Suki opened the door for her, Fallon waved off any need to explain. If anyone knew how hard habits were to break, it was Fallon.

"Going back to school is always a good venture, and yes, I can see where it would have even greater benefits for you, and subsequently Cyrus."

Looking ahead at the cases, Fallon began to wander around the store. She figured if she could find what she wanted it would be easier than having something custom made...or explaining to someone what it was she wanted custom made. Unfortunately, while she did find something similar, it wasn't exactly what she had in mind.

When a salesman stepped up and offered to help, Fallon bit the bullet and spoke up.

"Thank you, yes I could use assistance. Those piercings there...I believe are what I'm looking to buy, they're gold, right?"

The gentleman nodded, but gave Fallon a slightly odd look.

'Is madam aware that these items are not for one's ears, or tongue even?'

Fallon cringed inward. The man seemed a little condescending, but she wasn't sure if he was, or was merely trying to help.

"Sir, I am completely aware of the body parts these piercings go into. However, I don't want the plain gold balls. I was hoping to find something with small diamonds set into the ends. Do you carry those, or can they be made? I want the stones set in well enough so that they don't rub against the skin, but not so far that they cannot be seen."

Having given her idea a great deal of thought, she knew exactly what she wanted. Either the man could help, or not. Glancing in Suki's direction, Fallon didn't know if she would welcome the girl's company right then and there, or not. Knowing Suki could get anything done, it would have been easy to rely on her help. But Fallon still thought this purchase should be private. How much Cyrus had told Suki, or would even care about Suki knowing, still presented a bit of a hurdle for Fallon, in that respect. It was a delicate subject to talk about.

Fallon deftly resolved Suki's questions with her comments of hunting. She must be a very new vampire based on her prior comments. Though it could be a good coverstory but somehow Fallon just didnt seem the kind. Which made sense because Cyrus' own story was rather weak as well, while he was secretive he just did not have an elaborate lie in place. Of course being that old he probably kept it simple just so he could remember just exactly which one he was using this century.

Inside the store Fallon spoke to a salesman as Suki was lost in thought. The suitclad woman behind the counter smiled at Suki. Dismissing her thoughts she made her way to the nice woman to do her networking thing.

Before long she knew Marianne lived in the same condo complex she did and that Diamond necklaces were very expensive. Still she gathered information in case Cyrus wanted a small token of his affection for Fallon by way of diamonds someday. Suki thought the most impressive one was the strand of platinum set square diamonds connected together to form almost a thick cloth of the sparkling jewels. Interspersed with the glinting paleness were other precious gems, emeralds and peridots in one necklace while a second held rubies and garnet. Suki inquired if they made ones with any gems, like tigers eye and amber. Marianne nodded enthusiastically and they spoke intently, heads bent together over a sample book and loose gems.

Whatever the man's agenda had been, when Fallon spoke firmly about what she wanted to buy, he seemed to cede the issue to her, and nodded.

'Just one moment, if you please. I believe I may have somethings in the back that you might like.'

Fallon nodded slightly in response, and watched the man leave the showroom through a door in the back of the store. Looking over to where Suki stood, she could see the woman was speaking to another salesperson, and wondered if she was again 'networking'. Fallon could appreciate the woman's tenacity in her work, but wondered if she ever had just plain fun.

Before she could give that much thought, the salesman returned with a small, black velvet tray, which he set on the counter in front of Fallon. She grinned from ear to ear when she saw all the lovely little 'barbells' in gold, with all kinds of gemstones set into them.

"Oh yes, these are perfect. I'd like two...just like this...with diamonds."

Fallon fingered the little studs, as she imagined them in Cyrus. When she came to her senses and realized what she was doing, she removed her hand and blushed. The salesman had again gone into the back room, to return with a small aqua box, and once he removed the lid Fallon could see the piercings resting nicely against the black velvet inside.

The four diamonds, though small at only twelve points a piece, were of good quality, so the purchase was not cheap. She knew to Cyrus the price would have been a tip to the waitress at Flannigan'. But also knowing she couldn't begin to buy him anything reflective of his worth, for now Fallon was just happy to find something she hoped he wouldn't think to buy himself. It would be something to remind him of her, when he wore them. Something to remind him of her affection for him.

When her purchase had been completed, and the salesman handed her his card, she granted the man a smile.

'Any time you need anything, please don't hesitate to call me. If we don't have it, we'll be happy to make it right up for you, Ms. Tierney.'

Glad to see his attitude had changed, Fallon again nodded, picked up her small bag, and walked back to Suki. She stood back a bit, not wanting to intrude on the conversation going on with the other two women, and waited patiently.

Suki giggled and joked with her new friend untill she noticed the blonde woman look beyond her shoulder. Glancing back herself she noticed Fallon had finished. Suki smiled and turned back to the saleswoman. Giving her one armed hug, she picked up her brouchure and made her goodbyes. "Call me Marianne, we can get together one night for pizza."

Swinging her bags happily she almost skipped back to Fallon. "Find anything that works? Or do they have to make something?"

Suki wondered just what else she could get done tonight in preparation for the big date Saturday. Romantic clothing - check, lavish gift idea - check, sexy shoes - check. Now all she needed was sheets, tiny lights, plants and flowers and food. "Next?"
Fallon 18 years ago
Holding up the tiny bag, Fallon grinned and nodded at Suki's question.

"Got everything I need right here. Cross your fingers that Cyrus likes it."

Her eyes held an impish light as she dropped the small bag into one of her larger ones, and took Suki's arm again, turning towards the doorway.

"I'm afraid I've nothing left to buy." And she held her hands out in a small shrug. "And, I'm afraid I've run out of time, as well."

Checking her watch she saw she had time to make it to class now, and have just about ten minutes left over.

"Class starts soon, but I've just enough time to get there before my students think I've bailed, and turn around and go home."

Fallon pulled Suki into a quick hug.

"I wish I did have more time...I would have loved tagging along. I like you Suki...I'm glad I got a chance to meet you."
Suki Langston 18 years ago
Sad that the evening was ending on their shopping spree, Suki hugged Fallon briefly. "I am so glad we met. Please call me anytime, for anything."

Unsure on how to explain to Fallon just how big of an difference the woman had made in not only Cyrus' life but Suki's was a daunting task.

"I want to thank you so much for everything. When I became a part of Cyrus' life, I simply allowed him time to experience that life. You convinced him to enjoy that life, before then he was just going through the motions."

Suki had a misty smile as she looked at Fallon. She also had a lot of shopping left to do this week to get everything ready for the most perfect romantic night ever. "Now scoot on to work before I consider making you play hooky to pick up leather handcuffs and velvet blindfolds."
Fallon 18 years ago
Totally caught off guard by Suki's admission, Fallon felt her eyes grow bright. She returned her new friend's hug emphatically, and rubbed her back.

"Suki, Suki, Suki...there's nothing to thank me for. I think we're all lucky to have each other, and I'm just glad we can be friends. I was a little concerned that you wouldn't like me, and being that we both share in his life, I couldn't begin to imagine how difficult that would have been."

Cyrus had saved Fallon. She had grown more than fond of him in the time they'd come to spend with each other. That he was returning her feelings was beyond anything she could have expected. To now hear from Suki that she might have effected him as much, really touched her.

Grinning, and rubbing a tear from the corner of her eye, Fallon hugged Suki again quickly before starting off. She was immediately taken aback by the thought of handcuffs and blindfolds, but pushed the horror associated with them into the past. She knew there was a difference between the things Ted had done to her, and things true lovers did. Maybe with time she'd even become comfortable enough with Cyrus to 'play' like that. In any event, she knew where Suki's heart now was, and made no comment.

"Alright, alright...I'm going. But now that we've met, I really want to be seeing more of you. I'll bet I can learn a lot about Cyrus from you...and besides that, you're fun...I like you."

A short wave, and Fallon was gone.

(Fallon out pending response)

Suki's eyes were misty at Fallon's explaination. She was so happy that Cyrus had found someone wonderful. Dabbing at her own eyes with a delicate finger Suki sniffled just a little.

At her joke of handcuffs, Fallon looked a bit shocked and perhaps even appalled. Suki lightly patted her arm with a smile.
"I was joking! No bondage for romantic evenings."

Thrilled at having met such a wonderful person she smiled and waved. Before Fallon had gone too far she hollered loudly and waved like an excited child. "Call me soon!"

Turning the other direction, she started to the luxury linens store that was up the block and around a corner. First things first, romance for two on Saturday.
