Temporary Abode
Cyrus had settled in a tall tree at the edge of the forrest surrounding his new home. Construction was moving along quite well. The basement was completely finished and framing had started on the upper levels. Noting the completion of the pool and courtyard had him quite pleased. The older house that would be his and Fallon's temporary abode was reasonably ready for them and contained some of his belongings. Knowing that Fallon and Suki would be returning tonight with essential house to home things had him lingering in the area.
After stretching and leaving his mark on the forest side of the tree, the leopard padded silently across the construction site to the empty house. He was careful not to leave paw prints in the soft dirt and sawdust. There was no need to cause the crew anxiety or have them warning Suki of a bobcat near her boss's new house. Ha! If only they knew.
This evening he had left Heolfor and traversed the entire way here, not too far to go when travelling on four paws in the trees. Stalking to the house he carefully searched for ways in before settlind down upon the roof to await his women.
Then later he would prove her wrong, and repeat her words, as he did now, and she was again surprised that he could be so in tune with her.
Languishing in his arms, she knew they couldn't spend all day in bed, and would need to rise and get to work.
"Yes, we really do need to put forth some effort, to at least give Suki the impression we helped SOME. And a shower sounds good too."
The words had barely left her mouth when before she blinked Cyrus had managed to get them both out of bed, and into the bathroom. Kissing him quickly, she decided not to wash her hair, and pinned it up in a tight chignon instead. Later, after she had worked up a sweat and was ready to again be in his arms, she would let it down and wash it thoroughly.
Afraid to even look at Cyrus, and feel the need in her awaken again, she washed rapidly, and made a sort of game in not looking at his body. Her face was alive with mirth, and a couple times she started laughing when she realized just how difficult it was to be in a shower with someone, and not look at them. Even more so when she was naturally drawn to his body.
At almost the same time she was ready to give up and grab him, Fallon finished washing, and scooted out of the shower. She didn't wait for Cyrus to finish, nor for him to give her a towel. Instead she almost ran to her room, grabbing a towel along the way, and biting back a giggle. Fortunate that she was becoming much more adroit on her feet, she started slipping as she rounded the corner of the hall, but saved herself from falling. By the time he joined her in the bedroom, Fallon had her panties and bra on, and was stepping into her jeans.
"Shall we have a quick drink now, or did you want to go out to eat after we send the movers off?"
She had plenty of blood in the fridge, but would need to take it out and let it warm up some, before it would be drinkable.
Swiftly climbing out after her but taking time to dry before walking naked into the bedroom. He dared her to look at him with every step. His playfull kitten was luckily getting cloathed so he resisted grabbing her up, this time. Pulling his pants from last night, he belatedly realized he was without a shirt. Shrugging uncaringly as he knew his jacket was somewhere, he pulled on his boots.
"If we can wait till after they are done, we could go out to the House of Pain if you want. The music is loud but the drinks are plentiful."
The idea of going to the House of Pain tonight had a strange appeal to Fallon. Though it was not one of her favorite places, she knew Cyrus liked it and that he had met Suki there. So that in itself gave it a specialness, and helped her get beyond the loud music and sometimes strange people there. Besides which, she would be with Cyrus, so there was no fear of anything untoward happening. Then too, once they had their fill of what the place had to offer, they would be returning to their house, and that was cause enough to go out. The mere returning 'home' would be more exciting for Fallon.
Once she had finished dressing she went in search of his shirt and jacket. Finding the jacket, she remembered he had used his shirt for 'tiding' up after their earlier lovemaking. Laying the jacket next to him on the bed, she opened her closet door and pulled out a brand new shirt she had bought for him a few days earlier. She had intended on giving it to him at some future time, but decided now was as good a time as any. Though it wasn't anything extravagant, it was made of a fine silk weave and where it suffered in simpleness, it made up for in texture. The feel of its softness was what had drawn Fallon to it in the first place. Her finger caressed the material along the shoulder as she pulled the hanger from the shirt and held the pale, mushroom colored t-shirt to him.
"I think your shirt is still in the car, but this one might work...?"
She was still testing the boundaries of certain parts of their relationship, and because Suki kept Cyrus so well taken care of in 'almost' all departments, Fallon hadn't really ventured far into buying him things.
"And I think the House will be fine."
Knowing whatever she wore would be acceptable at the HOuse of Pain, Fallon had left her jeans on, but put on a slightly dressier top...yet even it was understated, being a style she favored, but again plain of decoration. Being sufficiently endowed, Fallon tended to go with tops that accentuated her body, and the low cut cowl style was her favorite. This top was a sleeveless one, that gave the illusion of covering most of her. Yet all she needed to to was lean forward a bit, and her cleavage was evident. The color was red, but a warm red that set off her own warm coloring. Along with the top she wore red heels, so the jeans were dressed up nicely.
Putting on her earrings, she finished her hair and touched up her face in the bathroom, before she was then ready to meet the night.
"Thank you Kitten, its perfect." The soft silk clung to his body, transforming the simple sirt into something quite nice looking. Sure that he looked good enough for the HoP he turned his attention to verifying proper protection for the both of them. Keeping his eyes on his knives he tried not to watch Fallon do all those womanly things to make herself even prettier than she already was. Cyrus knew that if he watched her too much that they would end up never leaving this room.
He only had four knives on him, one in each boot and two in his jacket. A slight growl of annoyance slipped out as his phone shot to his hand. Dialling Suki quickly he replaced his weaponry, meager though it was. "Suki. We are going to the House tonight once the movers are taken care of. Can you bring me the red wrapped bundle from the house first or meet us there?"
Listening to his familiar confirm the location of the bundle, which she had found in her cleaning and putting away sprees, Cyrus was reminded of how well she took care of him. They made arrangements to meet at the House of Pain later that night and she confirmed the movers would be arriving momentarily. Flipping his phone shut he turned to look at Fallon who was putting on earrings.
"As always, Suki is on top of everything. Movers should be here any moment, she will meet us later tonight and we can find some food soon."
Finished with what she had to do, Fallon walked over to where Cyrus stood, and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Are you sure the movers are almost here?" Her eyes were hot with desire for him, but she quickly tempered them with a smile. There would be time later to start over again, besides Fallon was more concerned now with having her man fed.
"And are you sure you don't want a quick drink to tie you over till later?" Another little peck on the lips, and Fallon heard the doorbell ring. Sighing, but then letting her hands drop to his ass cheeks, Fallon grabbed Cyrus quick and then pulled away as she hurried to the door. Though he couldn't see her face as she walked away, he probably did see her shoulders shake as she laughed.
Greeting the four men at the door...she thought four seemed a bit of overkill, but then knew they would finish just that much more quickly. After giving them brief instructions on what was to be left behind, Fallon moved back to where Cyrus stood, and tried to get out of the way.
"Suki said shortly." Which was such a shame he thought, but they had hurried through cleaning and dressing because of this and it would be unseemly to waste all that time just getting sweaty again. They could do that at their house later, which seemed like a good idea logically but too far off. Grinding his hips against her as she grabbed his ass, he kissed her gently before letting her go answer the door. Dropping a kiss upon her neck he expressed his gratitude for her concern but since they had exchanged a bit of blood earlier the hunger was not nearly as demanding as always. "Thank you Kitten, I can wait thanks to you."
Standing by the piano and the vase that sat regally upon it he eyed each mover that came in, committing each face to memory should the need to find them again arise. His gaze was not overly friendly as they moved around Fallon's small cottage. "Breaking the vase would be a very bad idea. In fact nothing should arrive broken, that would make me angry."
Inhailing deeply he then committed each scent to memory as well as their faces. Now it would be even easier to track them. Of course he was sure Suki had hired a reputable company but he did not want any of Fallon's possessions damaged.
The men looked uneasy but proved to be competant and swift. Everything was boxed in no time and the piano was even loaded gently onto their truck. Looking around he nodded to them politely to acknowledge their professionalism. Turning to Fallon as they drove off to the new house to unload he wondered if she wanted to follow and direct unpacking.
"Do you want to follow them? Or head to House of Pain now?"
It mattered little that the moving men were all probably a hundred pounds heavier, and at least six to nine inches taller than Cyrus...her man had such a commanding presence about him that she could tell his words probably had one or two of the guys sweating already.
Holding the vase firmly, Fallon set it down carefully on the kitchen sink, next to her purse. Since there was nothing in the kitchen being moved, she saw no way anything could happen to it there. Knowing Suki had already provided for the new kitchen, the only think Fallon would dispose of would be the blood in the refrigerator. She doubted Ana would find it appetizing.
Returning to Cy's side, Fallon took his hand in hers, trying to give him some comfort and possibly lessen his concerns about the moving going on around them.
"Why don't we follow them there, I'll drop off the vase and we'll make sure they find the place without trouble. Suki can take over then and we can go eat?"
Again she really didn't think anything untoward would happen, but liked the idea of just making sure. The time involved should only put them behind in their arrival at the House of Pain by another thirty minutes.
"If you have fridge perishables, lets take those home too." Hopefully she would understand his somewhat cryptic remark about the stash of blood he had placed in her fridge before. The supply could be gone and that was fine, but if there was some remaining, taking it with them was wise.
Finally the men closed up their van and were ready to leave. Cyrus was rather proud that he had not hissed at any of them for looking at his kitten. They had been quite dedicated to their work. Suki had picked a good crew.
Glancing at Fallon and smiling at her, he realized he was excited to be finally livng together with her. Resisting the urge to grab her up and kiss her till they were both senseless, he opened the door and offered to carry things to the car.
"Can I help with any of that so we can go home?"
Seeing the movers were about ready to take off, she went back into the kitchen, and picked up the small ice chest there. Her purse went over her other arm, and the vase was tucked safely into the crook of that same arm. Extending her hand with the ice chest in it, she relinquished it to Cyrus. The vase she kept a death grip on, preferring to hold onto it until she could set it down in its special place at the new house.
"Thank you, you can take that, and I'll hang onto this."
Making one last tour of the place, Fallon was struck nostalgic as she remembered the short time she had already filled with so many memories. Head resting on his shoulder briefly, Fallon walked out of the house, and locked up behind them.
"We will need to have another house warming soon, so we can show off our new home, and...us."
Fallon blushed, but only slightly. Being part of an 'us' was still too new to take for granted, but she did want to tell her friends.
"You won't mind, will you...you enjoyed the last one enough, didn't you?" As long as they kept it intimate, like the last one, Fallon hoped Cyrus would agree. She wasn't big on lavish parties with hundreds of guests herself, but did like keeping in touch with people she had met along the way. "Of course I'm not talking right away or anything. I want to get ourselves settled in first."
Popping the doors to her RAV open, Fallon wrapped the vase in a coat she had left in the backseat of her car, and placed it carefully on the floor where it would be safe. As soon as they got to the new place she knew exactly where she would place the vase for now. Later, when everything else had been delivered, and arranged, she would bring it town and place it in a prominent place.
When they were both belted in, she gave a final goodbye glance to the little house, and was quickly on the mover's trail.
"You can throw any parties you wish. Though the construction should not take too much longer and we will have a brand new house for you to celebrate as well. The last one was lovely, Kitten."
The drive to the new house was not overly long and much less tension filled as he kept his hands to himself. Thinking of the evening to come he tried to plan things. "Would you mind if the driver took us to the House of Pain? They have a severe lack of convenient parking."
They pulled up in front of the older home to see a car and driver there already. Which ment Suki was inside making everything slide into place neatly. They could turn over their blood stash, pick up his weaponry and leave the movers to her while they went out. The urge to celebrate their new home by staying in was there, but Cyrus also wanted to introduce Fallon to his life outside of clan and forest. Hopefully she would not find it too distastefull a way to find willing donors.
"Welcome Home!!" Her enthusiastic should was probably heard in town, but she was excited. Bouncing up and down while she clapped excitedly.
Suki knew the movers were probably not taking her seriously clad as she was in a blood red leather corset, black see through shirt that barely peeked over the edge of the leather but with large sleeves and pitch black zombie stitched jeans. Her hair was held up with two chopsticks with spikes of hair randomly sticking out all over. Turning her attention towards the van she frowned and put her hands on her hips. Their boss had promised her prompt and discrete service but these guys were gawking like bumpkins seeing a woman of ethnicity for the first time.
"I want this unloaded within thirty minutes or I am calling Freddie to complain!" Stomping her combat boot on the pavement for emphasis.
During the drive Fallon glanced his way several times and smiled. Whether he was thinking ahead to the evening that awaited them, or was just trying to be 'good', she couldn't help but wish she hadn't driven. Though she normally didn't mind, it was becoming evident that when the two of them were together, her hands and focus could be used better elsewhere. So when he suggested using his driver for their next outing, Fallon nodded enthusiastically.
"For parking...AND safety sake, I think using your driver would be the best idea." And she doubted her face hid the real meaning behind her words from him. Struck by another amazing fact, Fallon realized that she and Cyrus were truly evenly matched in so many areas. Odd, considering their backgrounds were not only years apart, but cultures apart as well. But she found they shared many of the same feelings, and desires so far. And knowing that there was still so much about him she wanted to know, and share, Fallon was filled with a strong sense of knowing this was all...right.
As they drove up in front of the house, Fallon was surprised to find she already felt as if she were home. It was surprising because she expected to miss the cottage for at least a few nights after moving out. However, another insightful thought struck her...Cyrus was her home now...and wherever he was, she would feel most comfortable. Stopping the car she turned to him, caressed his cheek, and didn't even try to hold back the one tear that trickled down her own cheek.
"We're home." And overcome with emotion, Fallon turned off the key, threw her arms around his neck, and kissed him.
Though the mere touch of their lips began to stir something inside her, Fallon resisted and pulled back, to get out of the car. Running around to his side, she waited until he got out as well, then grabbed his hand and began tugging him towards the house. The vase was again tucked securely in one arm, and the ice chest was left to Cyrus.
Seeing Suki running towards them, Fallon released Cyrus' hand and hugged the oncoming woman.
"I'll be right back!" She smiled and took off again for the house.
Entering, Fallon ran to the hallway, looking for a small niche in a prominent wall there. Once she found it, Fallon stopped and regarded it. Setting the vase within the cubbyhole, she stepped back and regarded it, finding it looked perfect there. Then she walked back and forth next to the wall, to make sure there was no way that kind of movement would dislodge the vase. Satisfied, she went in search of Suki, and Cyrus too, having lost sight of them.
"Suki...Cyrus?" She called, headed towards the last place she had seen the them both...outside.
Upon arriving at home, she seemed sad and happy at the same time. The single tear made him sorry he had taken her from the tiny cottage she had for just a moment. But the hug and all too brief kiss made everything alright again. "Welcome home"
His whispered welcome was said in the empty car as she raced out. Taking a brief moment to calm the hunger that had roared to life at the touch of her lips before exiting the car in a much slower manor than his kitten. Cyrus watched his familiar and mate hug before both went oposite directions. A brief conference with Suki had his plan in motion and she took the cooler. Eyeing the movers that had been given specific tasks, a snarl curled his lip at two of them gossiping.
The smallest young man nudged the rather young looking one and whispered. "Two! Lucky fuck." All this elicted was a shrug and a quiet comment from the youth. "Maybe she's his sister?" Cyrus was ready to tear the first guy to shreds when the largest fellow, who was clearly in charge yelled at them, making them jump back to work quickly.
Once their backs were turned and busily lifting boxes, Cyrus hissed menacingly. The foreman winced at the sound and made sure his crew stayed busy before coming to apologize. He rubbed one gloved hand over his shaved head hoping that the crew of four would be going back intact. "My apologies sir, those two are new and still too green to be brought out on jobs apparently. I will make sure Freddie give you a discount for their inadequacies."
Watching the man throw them all at his mercy, Cyrus nodded his head a millimeter. "Teach them discretion." Watching him hurridly nod and agree with a 'yes sir' and return to work, Cyrus curled a lip in disgust. Some humans were really useless cattle. He was sure that there was a quick whispered conference inside the house to shut up and be respectful. At least the last fellow, a muscular african american, had a suitably blank face as if he heard and saw nothing other than boxes and where things went.
As Fallon returned outside Cyrus' whole mood changed for the better. His kitten was moving in with him. They were together for tonight and every night. With a warm smile he grabbed her up in a hug and spun her around. A giggling Suki ran back into the house only to emerge a moment later with a red silk wrapped bundle. Cyrus kissed Fallon's nose briefly before going to the hood of the Rav and opening the package. Inside were four knives that he slipped casually into the hidden sheaths in his coat and boot uncaring if the movers saw him arming himself.
Offering Fallon his arm and a warm look. "Ready to hit the House of Pain for a bit? Suki will take care of everything here and perhaps meet us later."
Knowing that her master had Fallon's attention, she raced into the house and picked up the bundle before emerging quickly. She had smirked at the whispered tongue lashing the two boys got from the foreman, her favorite comment was "Shut up or die." because it was so very apropriate.
Returning outside she smiled at Fallon and watched the truck empty while Cyrus filled his clothes with steel.
As she quickly walked towards him, she debated mentioning anything about the movers to him. Everything seemed to be under control now, so was there really a need to stir anything up? The decision was made for her once Cyrus grabbed her and spun her around. Released too soon, Fallon watched as he placed all his knives in their appropriate places, and readied himself for their night out. At one time Fallon might have raised an eyebrow to see all the paraphernalia Cyrus wore for protection, but now she barely gave it a second thought. Seeing him put on his knives had become much like watching him put on his shirt...just another part of his routine.
"Sounds good...honey." Words of endearment were foreign upon Fallon's tongue, as she had never had the desire to use them before. But she loved it when Cyrus called her 'kitten', and wanted a way to express her own feeling of love for him. She just wasn't sure what word was fitting. But she took his arm, and didn't linger over 'honey', for fear it would seem silly.
Seeing Suki, Fallon waved her over, and hugged her with her free arm.
"Thank you again, Suki...everything is moving like clockwork...so smoothly, and almost magically, though I know that is totally your doing."
She smiled brightly at the girl, and hoped she did join them later at the House of Pain.
Knowing that Fallon treasured it, he mentally steadied and lifted as much of the intrument as he could. "Excuse me one moment ladies."
Walking and talking while doing a lot of heavy mental lifting was distracting, but he made it to the open doorway and assisted as they set the piece down in its proper location. The one respectfully discrete mover nodded politely to him, acknowledging his assistance while the other three silently cleaned up and adjusted its final location slightly. Striding back to Suki he looked into the truck to see how much they had left. "They should not give you any trouble. Please tip the black gentleman generously."
Offering Fallon his arm once more before going to the waiting Denali with Nicole waiting patiently to take them to their destination. He held the rear door open for his kitten to enter while he informed the driver where they were going. "House of Pain please."
Fallon's praise made her blush but filled her with pride of a job well done. "Thank you, I am simply doing my best."
Watching Cyrus go watch over the piano, Suki turned to Fallon. "Can you think of anything you may need that we dont have yet? Food, books or anything to make your life easier, happier, better."
She had tried to think of everything, from shower caddys to shoe racks, to a full spice rack and coat hangers. The kitchen and pantry was stocked with gourmet staples that would keep for months and comfort type foods that were easy to whip up. There were some books on the living room shelves, classics to the latest best seller, word searches to crosswords to sudoku puzzles. Plants from the hotel love nest were placed all over the place and would be taken care of by a service that would come in once a week in the evening. Worrying her lower lip slightly she hoped that there was everything they could want, at least until they thought up more.
"I will make it tonight, I got dressed up for it." She said with a grin, putting the house stocking on the back burner for a moment.
Watching him keeping an eye on the movers, once they began to tackle the piano moving, Fallon moved closer to Suki, grinned, and nodded towards Cyrus.
"He's really something, isn't he? I watch him do things like that, and it nearly takes my breath away."
That he could take such command of a situation or people, with barely a nod of his head was staggering, but even more, it was exciting. Fallon stood almost electrified as she admired his presence, and inner strength in dealing with the men...all of which were so much larger than he was in size. Comparisons to Ted couldn't be helped. Ted had been huge in size, but so small in personal stature...why couldn't people like her ex see how weak that really made them appear?
"No, Suki, really...I can't think of anything I need...or want for that matter, that I don't have now. You two couldn't have made this homecoming any more perfect if you'd peeked into my brain and taken my thoughts. So stop chewing on your lip..."
Fallon giggled at the sight, surprised to see Suki exhibit any evidence of concern. She rubbed Suki's arm, much the way Cyrus had just rubbed her's, in comfort. The girl had more going for her than people twice her age, and no reason to worry. Fallon was thrilled to hear she would be joining them later as well.
When Cyrus returned, Fallon got into the car, and waited for Cyrus to join her. She looked forward to the evening ahead, but couldn't help but look forward to their return home even more.
Snuggling up next to Cyrus, Fallon kissed him on the cheek, and whispered...
"You have made me so very happy today Cyrus. I only hope I can make you feel the same."
And then she was struck by another thought. Turning his face so he was looking at her, she brushed his lips with hers.
"Maybe, if we get home early enough, we can go for a walk in the trees?"
Would that be a bad routine to get into? Knowing how he liked shifting and playing in his cat form, Fallon never wanted him to feel too confined to do so. She could only trust that if he needed time alone, he would tell her.
While the display was impressive it was also a bit frightening, since Suki knew he could back it up with sheer violence should the situation warrent. She wondered if Fallon found that attractive or simply did knot know yet. Unsure what to hope for she brushed it aside firmly by telling herself that it was to keep them safe and a good thing.
"So I should close the little brain window now?" Teasing and joking with Fallon was fun. She was a very nice woman and Suki could only be thrilled. Watching the two leave she waved happily.
Turning back to the house she stomped inside and picked up her purse, to tip one mover and complain to Freddie about the others. She had cleaning to do before heading to House with her vampires.
"You have already made me happier than I ever imagined possible."
Her kiss was gentle upon his lips, stirring him to tenderness with just a tinge of passion lurking under the surface. Keeping his hands in safe locations was difficult as his hands gently pet her arm and thigh. They could play on the way home rather than now and arrive mussed.
Hearing his wildcat's request to frolick warmed his leopards soul. "That sounds like an amazing way to spend a few hours before dawn. Or we could always go when we awake tomorrow. Or both. I am yours to command, Kitten."
