It took some initiative to get Shay moving tonight, so content would she have been to have stayed at home, in her tank and shorts working on her book. But after her meeting with Kyle she decided she needed more ideas independent from her own experiences thus far, to flesh out certain sections of the book. Too many times she found herself reverting to the same phrases and words being used in descriptions...she needed either a more objective eye, or just an entirely new take on things.
She was sorry she hadn't been able to get in touch with Paul. It had been ages since she'd seen him, and she had a world of questions she could as him now. She hoped her friend was doing okay, and that he would get in touch with her soon, if for no other reason than to just say hello. In the back of her mind she hoped he and Alex had hit it off and were becoming as happy as she and Alexi were.
Alexi. She wished he had been able to join her tonight, but his new job seemed to be taking up a lot of his time these days. Selfishly she had to admit she had needed to make quite an adjustment with him being gone so much, but she knew it was so much better for him to have something to focus on, and to give him a sense of purpose. Besides that, she hoped it would continue to help him get back on track with his clan.
Getting out of the house tonight was also an attempt to regain some of her own independence. No matter how much she loved Alexi, she needed to maintain her life as well, and not get so lost in him that she lost herself in the process. She had come perilously close in the past, and was on constant alert now to avoid that.
Sipping her scotch, Shay watched as people passed by her little booth. Couples with eyes only for themselves, singles with eyes out for anyone else...everyone seemed to have an agenda tonight. She wondered if she appeared approachable or not, and if not, how she could make herself seem more friendly, without becoming TOO friendly.
"Friends. We need to get together and talk more in depth about such things. I think Mathias has been lax in your education, and if I may be so bold, it might help to hear it all from a woman's prospective."
She looked up and around again and sae Nic heading their way. Now she wondered if she should send Shay home, or leave her new friend alone while she took care of...business. Well nothing to do but to ask.
"And speaking of such things. Do you wish to stay while I take of it? Or would you prefer taking your leave? I am happy for you to stay, Shay, don't get me wrong, but it may be more than you are ready to see yet..."
She'd leave it there. She didn't want Shay to leave if she wanted to stay and continue their conversation, but she also didn't want to offend her new friend.
She grinned, raised an eyebrow, and shook her head in amusement when Ginnie offered to 'educate' Shay better. Yet the women's perspective was exactly what she'd been hoping for earlier, so how could she pass up the invitation. She was adult enough to take whatever Ginnie said with a grain of salt, and suck up the fact that the other woman seemed to feel she was lacking in her vampire schooling. She couldn't let the remark about Alexi go unnoticed though.
"I would like very much to talk more, and for your comfort, maybe next time you can come by the house when Mathias is working late, and we can have a real girl's gabfest. But I can't let you go on with the misconception that Mathias has been remiss in his 'educating' of me. He has truly explained in detail the reasons for discretion...he just can't help it that I happen to have a rather large mouth sometimes, and tend to get myself into trouble with it. But I promise you this...I will do my utmost to be more careful in the future."
Seeing Nic at the same time, Shay immediately started scooting around the table to leave.
"Nooooo...really, I've enjoyed our little chat, and will call you next week to see when you might be able to get together, but for now I think I will leave you two alone." Shay smiled and walked over to where Ginnie still sat, leaned over and gave the woman a quick hug.
"Enjoy yourself." She whispered into the brunettes ear, and then gave Nic a wave as she started for the door.

She watched Shay make her way out of the club, the woman managed to make it to the exit unmolested, Ginnie sighed in relief, there wasn't anything she could do about out side the club, unless she walked Shay to her car, but at least she'd left the place unscathed. Shay was a nice person and it would be nice to have a real friend, but she really needed to be more careful about wilfully entering a known vampire hang out with out her vampire. It was taking a risk that could get Mathias killed. Well, perhaps not, now that Ellis the Tyrant was no longer in the picture.
Ginnie shook the thoughts from her head and turned her attention to the walking meal seating himself. She scooted around and put herself in the place recently vacated by Shay.
"Welcome back. Everything alright?"
She asked, realizing he'd been gone a bit longer than nature usually took.
Nodding to Shay's wave, Nic sat down next to Ginnie now, when he reached the table. There was just enough room for his ass, and nothing left to spare, but he wasn't about to return to the place where he'd sat earlier, and then slide all the way around the table to be near her.
A casual arm across the back of her shoulders, and he leaned in closer to her ear.
"I have to be honest and say I'm not sorry Shay left...though I hope it wasn't anything I said or did."
Nic had turned on the glamour as he passed Shay, and hoped Ginnie was seeing him now in a light more conducive to her preferences. When he sat down he also began sending little suggestions, trying to get her to realize just how much she wanted to be with him. As the next while progressed, he would turn up the suggestions, and hopefully by the time they were ready to leave, she'd be having a devil of a time keeping her hands off him.
She tilted her head and smiled playfully at Nic. It would come to her, she just needed to mull it over for a while, in the mean time she'd get inside his head and play.
"No, not to worry. Shay was just getting out to clear the cobwebs, she was perfectly happy to head home."
With little effort she impressed Nic's mind with a desire to get closer, maybe on the dance floor where there was a crowd and their motions wouldn't be noticed. At the same time she toed off her shoes and left them unheeded under the table.
"Might I interest you in another dance?" And why had he just asked her to leave the coziness of their booth? He wanted nothing more than to cuddle closer and ply her with his abilities...now he'd be in the middle of a throng of people, and not really able to hear himself think, much less continue with his plan. He slid closer to her, which was in the opposite direction of the direction he should have been moving, if he really had wanted to dance.
"Or...this is nice too...maybe you could tell me a little more about that research you do, that's so cloak and dagger."
His lips started at her shoulder, just above her arm, and moved their way to her neck, where he lingered on her throat for a few seconds. To hell with dancing...this is what he really wanted to do.
"Here is good." She all but purred at him. This behavior was completely out of character for her and she just didn't seem to care. 'This is quite annoying,' grouched the little voice in the back of her head. Ginnie ignored it, here with Nic was exactly where she wanted to be, and that was all there was to it. 'What the fuck? You're kidding me right?' Roared the little voice. That got her attention. This really was getting out of hand, and when had she moved closer and draped her thigh over his?
Taking charge of herself she moved her head, nudging Nic's up and to the side to give her better access to the thick vein that ran along his neck. The Hunger growled deep in her belly as she inhaled deeply of his scent. Gently kissing his heating skin, she impressed on him how good her touch felt, how everything she was doing was exactly perfectly right. It was then that she let her fangs elongate, and she pressed then gently and neatly into the vein that so tempted her.
((ooc biting done with permission))
He caressed her thigh when she moved it over his and let his hand begin creeping up underneath her dress. His own hardness was becoming more difficult to disguise every second. As she pressed his head to the side, and began kissing his neck, Nic groaned loudly, but thankfully the music helped mask the sound. His other hand slid to her waist, and then up to her breast, where he moved his thumb across her nipple, hoping to elicit similar groans.
All his attentions to her body were immediately stopped when he felt her fangs penetrate his skin, and all feelings of desire, and passion kicked into overdrive. Of course there was the whole part about now knowing he was again with another vampire, and mentally kicking himself for not finding that out sooner. And yet instead of bringing it to Ginnie's attention, that she wasn't going to be getting much of a meal out of him, Nic pressed his own mouth to her neck, and allowed her the feel of his fangs.
Not intending to feed, Nic didn't do anything more than offer her up a small warning of sorts, wanting to see how she would react. If she was too far gone and continued drinking, he would proceed and do the same. Her bite really was doing incredible things to his libido, and he wouldn't be too put out if she were to continue. But it was important she knew the truth of the matter, before she did something she might later find she regretted.
"Ginnie..."She swallowed, trying to catch her breath. "Kavanagh, Tàcharan." She offered her hand to him, as though they were meeting for the first time.
She was almost distressed to find that she really just wanted to go back to what she was doing a moment before, or to even take it to a more secluded place 'Oh, shit, dude was using my own fucking ability against me. I really need to get a clue sometimes.' She mentally rolled her eyes, as she looked at Nic in a whole new light.
He could see she was trying to recover her composure as quickly as possible, and he was a little concerned for her. Taking her hand in his he gave her a genuine smile this time, and covered their hands with his other.
"Nicholae Lache, Evenhet. And I should have known you were Tacharan, since it seems those are the only women I've had the pleasure, and discomfort of meeting lately." He had to bite back the laugh that her news brought up in him. Was it too much to think that he might ever meet a female vampire from another clan?
"It seems I must be accumulating a lot of Tach in my own blood these days." He chuckled and released her hand.
Sitting back a respectful distance now, Nic regarded Ginnie, and again felt stabbed with a two sided sword. His experience in these matters did seem to be helping some though, and he knew he wouldn't have near as much difficulty saying good night to this one. Too bad though...she really was a comely one.
Her chest still heaved and her cheeks were flushed with the high, but she managed a smile for Nic.
"Perhaps fate has plans for you and the women of Tacharan." She winked and ran her tongue across her swollen bottom lip. "Mind if I ask which of my Clan you've had the pleasure of meeting?"
"If you know who's in charge of fate, I wish you'd pass that information along...I'm ready to give up and find another avenue to follow." He laughed at the idea of no longer having to worry about who he met where, and when. For all the craziness he'd encountered over the past few months, at least he couldn't say his life had been dull.
He almost didn't answer her question, feeling like to do so would be less than chivalrous. Yet it wasn't like he was screwing his way through the Tacharan women, and in truth he'd only been with one in the carnal way.
"I've had the pleasure to meet Alexandra, and Valentine...both beautiful and delightful women. Addison...well, I can't really include him in that group, though he seemed to be the one to start me on the Tacharan path. And then...there was your formidable Ellis, who I had the...who I met shortly before her demise, though I can't say there was much pleasure there.
Last, and definitely not least at all, was you, and even with the way things turned out, I'd have to say I've enjoyed our meeting greatly."
Reaching up towards her face with a crooked finger, Nic let it softly slide down the side of her warm, red cheek.
"I must say you are more unfortunate than most when dealing with the lovelies of the Clan. I am not sure I would wish your fate on anyone."
She drank deeply of the fresh soda, giving her hands something to do, so that restraining them was not so difficult. She still had some cobwebs stuffed in her brain from Nic's meddling and it was more difficult than she would have imagined to refuse the urges.
Ginnie smiled again as she set her coke down. she drew her fingers through the moisture on the glass, when what she really wanted to do was go back to what they'd been doing just a few moments ago. It was most disconcerting. 'Disconcerting my lily white ass. It's fucking annoying chick, and you had better send him on his way and get busy with that guard instead. He's new and less likely to be a fucking vampire for damn Evenhet.' Ginnie had never been more ready to kill her conscience.
"If you'd like to meet some less dangerous and less attached," she gestured to herself, "of my clan, let me know. I'll see what I can do."
She grinned at him through a shuttering breath. She was still high, though thankfully coming down from it. The shuddering breaths and flushed cheeks were the only outward signs, that she learned from the blood she'd shared with her lover many times. 'Yeah I really need to send him away, or at least move past this whole need thing.
"I'll keep that in mind...less attached is always good...but I'm not sure I'm ready for less dangerous. My only real desire is to meet some women and not be blind-sided. I think that's the part that's starting to get to me."
He chuckled, and reached into his pants pocket, pulling out a money clip and removing one of his personal cards.
"Here...lets make it easy. Here's my cell number, and my Liefde Tower address...Liefde is a fairly well know Evenhet address, isn't it? At least this way whoever you choose to show it to will know right off the bat what they'll be getting into, or vice versa." Winking. "So to speak."
He drank some more of his beer, and decided he probably should leave her now, but then wasn't sure he wanted to think about her just staying here alone. It wasn't so much that he doubted she could take care of herself, but rather a matter of courtesy.
"There you go." She pushed the napkin toward him, with a smile. It seemed like their little tryst was winding down and she didn't want him to stall his evening just for her. Besides she had a job to do here.
"Now you go find some hot little number and finish what we started, mmkay?"
She gave his hand a gentle pat, her fingers lingering. "Don't worry about me, I'll find something to do." She made a small gesture with her head toward the bouncer that had been standing there watching them.
He picked up the napkin, folded it carefully, and then placed it in the clip and back into his pocket.
When she patted his hand, he turned it over, grasped her fingers gently and raised them to his lips.
"I regret I cannot finish what 'we' started with you, but I will force myself to be the perfect gentleman, and bid you good night."
He moved off the booth, and around to her side, where he leaned in close once again, and breathed softly against her ear. "You are a lovely woman, Ginnie...your 'other' is lucky to have you. Enjoy your guard, and I hope to see you again sometime." A kiss, a sigh, and he was off to see if he could salvage the evening somehow.
(ooc- Nic out pending responses.)
"Thank you, Nic. It was a pleasure to have met you."
She watched him walk away, and only when he had melted into the crowd did she let the shiver travel her spine and her lungs to labor for breath. Now if she could just get that guard's attention.
Nic, the man, left to go to the bathroom, and Sam followed him with his eyes, suprised to see him head after another girl on the way. Interesting. Shay, meanwhile, began talking about things that seemed slightly odd to Ginnie - he learned her name to be - and he could hardly pick up the words. But what he did pick up didnt make much sense to him. Perhaos it was some coded-language they'd devised together for such a public place.
It seemed longer then usual for one to use the bathroom, but Nic finally returned and Shay left soon after. Something seemed different with Nic, but Sam couldnt put his finger on it as he watched him returned to Ginne. They began necking, but broke it off suddenly and shook hands. Perhaps some one else was watching and had left, a sort of pact to make some one jealous. Sam glanced around, trying to spot something amiss while all the while keeping a stoic face, as though he was just continuing his job. He also tried to figure out why she kept winking at him.
((OOC: Oh boy, lots of posts to read up on there!))
She wasn't used to this, with Alec, they just had more sex or let the high help them pass out, but she could do neither here and now and it was her own damned fault for getting mixed up with a vampire, again. Feeling just a touch of self pity, Ginnie slid from her booth, and weaved her way to the dance floor. She stopped briefly several times as others stopped her to chat, she responded with a friendly smile and enthusiastic banter. One she even actually knew.
She finally made it onto the floor, and found a place where her tall, lithe frame could move. The music was loud and had a steady beat. She closed her eyes and let it move her. She felt her body dip and dive and sway. Half way through the song, someone touched her and danced with her briefly, she moved with whomever it was, until they moved away and onto a more interactive partner.
As she danced she pulled the pins from their careful placement in her hair. She did not use anything in her hair, so it slowly tumbled down around her back and shoulders. It had been a very long time since she'd simply let go. As she danced, Nic's blood high and the last year flowed from her always tense shoulders, down her stress tightened spine, through her gym toned legs, and out into the floor. Another hopeful partner joined her rebellion and left just as quickly as the first, when she did little more than match her sway to his.
The first song flowed into the next and reckless abandonment began to find its way from her body. Finally she lifted her head and opened her eyes. She felt great, alive, vibrant and ready to take on the world. Maybe she wouldn't kill the runner she was after, maybe she would thank him and put him in rehab. Her eyes roamed the club again and felt solidly on the bouncer near her table. She knew she'd made eye contact with him, despite the glasses. It was time to hunt.
She began to let her hair down - perhaps she was done with her business for the night and was letting loose - which only added to her attractiveness. He found his eyes drawn more continously to her then the rest of the place. Anywhere else, and this could have gotten him in trouble if a fight broke out. But this Club was generally peacefull. Something to do with the higher end class of things. It paid better too.
He felt chills go racing down his spine as she turned to look at him, clearly staring him straight in the eyes. He had to have her.
