(OOC) Pack Residential Things to Know

The Vyusher R’asa facility known as Shady Pines is a former in patient hospital for the mentally ill (please see Welcome to the Machine for more information on the residence and surroundings). As such, it is broken up into several wards which have been converted into residential dwellings. Each ward has suites, a common area, a kitchen and a nurse’s station that can be altered to suit the ward’s needs. There is enough room in a single ward for multiple families to live comfortably.

We anticipate that as time goes on people will decide on their own who they would prefer to share ward space with, though if you prefer to be assigned quarters that can certainly be arranged. ‘House Rules’ can be decided on a case by case basis. For example, Ward A might have several families with small children and thus dictate a certain amount of ‘quiet hours’ whereas Ward B might have mostly young adults who are glad to stay up all hours of the night making racket and generally having a good time.

This is very much a communal living atmosphere – the Vyusher R’asa culture is largely centered around small groups, or clachans as they are sometimes called, living and working together.

That said, you are of course permitted to procure a more private residence outside of the facility, though you will, naturally, have to pay for it yourself.

Any disputes over living space will be settled by the leadership. Use the out of character forum or private messages to discuss living arrangements with your fellow players.

For now (and depending on growth factors this may change) if you wish to establish a new ward for your character rather than trying to enter a preexisting one, post a thread describing your ward in this forum. Give it a name and tell us about the sort of people you are looking to share space with. This is subject to Vyusher R'asa staff approval. Please do not create redundant wards – if you see that there is already a ward for young singles, for example, send a PM to whoever posted that ward’s description thread and make sure it’s all right for your character to settle there, rather than making a new ward.

Either post in the pack /ooc area (The Campfire) or PM Loretta or Vaughn if you want a new ward but would rather if Staff established it for you.

Update:

Please note that we have done community wards with the intention of helping people get together and roleplay within a smaller group. There are still individual quarters but Shady Pines is the pack grounds within Nachton. It defeats the purpose of community to make a new place for every new pack mate.. Please try to find a place to fit in. If you cannot find somewhere your character could call home or feel that there is a benefit to having a new and different place then let us know... otherwise we have wards that have no occupants.
