Evening Workout (Attn Alex)
It was only an hour after sunset and the night was cold, overcast and windy. Light shone out through the Dojo's shoji screens, enveloping it in a soft warm glow. Despite the cool temperature a few of the windows had been slid open a little to allow for a cross breeze and the door was open wide enough for a large cat to come and go as he pleased. Inside the lights blazed and the only sounds were of bare feet moving across the mats, the slice of steel through the air and the occasional whine and rattle of the screens in the wind.
Amberelle had come out here as soon as the day's light had faded. Her mind was craving the peace she gained from the martial arts' familiar routines, ones she had practiced for as long as she could remember. First came simple stretching and basic tumbling. Next was walking through a few basic katas and generally warming up. And finally she had pulled out her katana and wakizashi then begun to move through more intricate and elaborate katas, mentally playing out the scenarios in her mind.
Tonight the Creole had decided to focus on sharpening her senses as she fought, so her eyes were tightly shut and she relied on the feel and sounds of the wind and her own memory of the dojo to guide her. Amby knew the best way to do this exercise would be to work in the darkness, but that would leave a chance for someone unsuspecting to wander in and be hurt. Next time she would have to remember a blindfold, she told herself.
In a far back corner Louis watched his Mistress quietly, occasionally looking away to bathe a bothersome spot here and there. The large black cat's tail was still, with only the tip twitching occasionally. He had been told to be as quiet as possible now as to not distract her, so he would do his very best.
It had been years since she'd been held, been kissed, been so alive with these feelings that flowed through her. And, never before had she kissed another kindred. The young Anantya had avoided them while growing up and then after her turning she had been far too bitter and cautious to allow herself to become close to any of Gustav's men. But Alexander was different, he wasn't one of those loyal goons who she had to worry about reporting her every move and word.
Amby had enjoyed the time they'd shared at Cyrus' party. Alex had been witty, intelligent and interesting. Not to mention she now knew he was an accomplished fighter. All elements she respected. The young Creole admitted to herself he was the first male she'd had more than a fleeting interest in since coming to live here at the Manor. He was definately the first Anantya she had ever been attracted to.
Their lips parted and she exhaled with a soft sigh. Her hands slid down to rest around his waist, fingers splayed on his back as Amby enjoyed the feel of his muscled frame. The soft kisses he placed on her face next sent an involuntary shiver through her and she opened her eyes to look up at him. The tenderness in his touches left her at a loss for words. Never before had anyone been so, so.. gentle.. with her. What he said next caused a faint smile to lift the corner of her mouth. "Welcome attentions.." it made her want to giggle with delight.
There's no disadvantage, Alex.. I've never received the attentions of a clansman before either. So.. umm, I think that makes us even? It was so hard not to just smile dumbly up at him, she felt so warm and fuzzy inside.
Amberelle had been nervous that she'd crossed some kind of line. She'd never taken the initiative and kissed a man before. But his words erased that concern. Looking up into his blue eyes, she tried to convey that to him. No.. you weren't.. I was afraid you would think that I had been, actually. I was rather.. forward. She shrugged slightly, glancing down and away in slight embarassment.
The blonde was loathe to move, standing here with him was so delightful. But a breeze blew through and made her shiver, which reminded her of where they were. The last thing the young vampire wanted was for someone to come in and make a big deal of their embrace. The mere idea of Dawn and the boisterous reaction she would have made Amby cringe.
Leaning forward again she pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth, then indulged herself with another soft brush across his lips. Speaking quietly against them, she looked up at him.
We probably shouldn't just stand here like this.. I mean anyone could walk in.. The logic was already fading as the urge to continue kissing him began to return. I need a shower, and to eat.. An idea occured and she smiled. Would you umm.. be so kind as to walk me to my suite? Amberelle was quite pleased with her idea. It would give them a few more minutes together and certainly opened the opportunity for a goodbye kiss or two at her door.
Her suggestion was most welcome, and though Alexander longed to kiss her again, and possibly more, he could find no fault with what Amberelle had asked. He exucsed himself for a momment and retrieved his gym bag. Returning to Amberelle's left side, he offered her his upper arm. A quaint gesture, but he was sure she would recipocate.
"At your lesuire, Amberelle."
Alexander smiled at her and bowed ever so slightly.
Leaving the dojo, she directed them towards the manor entrance closest to her wing. It wasn't far at all, and much quicker than she would have liked they stood in front of the wrought iron doors to her suite. Turning some to look up at Alex, she shrugged a shoulder and nodded her head at the suite. This is me. The voice in her head kept saying it was time to let go of his arm now but she didn't listen. Thank you for walking me.. Keeping a straight face she joked, It could have been quite dangerous, I hear this place is full of blood sucking vampires and such.
While his mistress was speaking Louis slipped in an opening and hopped up onto the foyer's table. From the bowl there he lifted a small key ring in his mouth and hopped down to return. He headbutted her calf then circled around in front of her. Finally, reluctantly, she removed her hand from his arm and squatted down to take the small key from the cat. Thank you baby, she said giving Louis a slight scratch behind the ears.
Standing, she looked back at her clanmate. Feeling a little shy, she tried not to blush and keep any untoward thoughts at bay. 'It's a drink, you're not propositioning him!' she told herself firmly. Would you.. like to come in? I could warm us up something to eat.. or make coffee or something?
He placed his gym bag outside the door and slipping off his shoes, put them beside the bag. Alexander stepped over the threshold and entered into her Amberelle's quarters.
"Do you have a place where I could freshen up, Amberelle?" Alexander asked as he looked about the place in approval.
At her guest's query, she nodded. Of course, the bath is just through the bedroom.. Stepping around him with a quiet 'Excuse me', she walked over to the doors that led to her bedroom and slid them open. Hope you'll forgive me.. It's umm.. kind of messy, she said with a slight shrug and scrunched her lips. 'I knew I should have made my bed this morning.. oh well' Pointing him towards the doors on the left wall, she turned and headed to her bar.
It only took her a minute to pull out a bottle of water, mugs and a teapot. Popping the water into the microwave to warm, she rifled through her baskets until she found the small tin of loose tea she had. Plunking a bag of Lipton in a cup for herself was one thing but she'd at least attempt something decent for a guest. A chirp from the oven sounded and she pulled out the steaming bottle and emptied it into the pot with the tea. That was set on the bar to start steeping while she laid out sugar and removed her small carton of half and half from the fridge. The idea of milk in tea was kind of gross to her, but some people liked it. A couple spoons were laid beside the mugs and she nodded approvingly.
Looking down at her little man as he twined through her feet and looked hopeful, she chuckled and pulled out a small can of food for him and put it into his bowl. 'You behave for me now, we have a guest so no running around or climbing all over me.. understand.' He simply started munching on his dinner but she could sense his agreement.
The tea smelled nice, and she hoped it was a good blend since she'd never tried it before. Leaning on the bar, she waited for Alexander to emerge.
He washed and cleaned his hands and face, making sure that the sweat and grime of the evenings workout went down the drain. Halfway decent, Alexander thought as he smoothed back his hair with a critical eye.
Amberelle was already at the bar when he returned to the main room. Alexander marvelled at her place. His quarters were comparatively spartan by comparison, but that was his choice to keep distractions to a minimum.
Of course Amberelle, on the other hand, was a rather pleasant distraction. She offered him a mug rather than a cup and saucer, but Alexander didn't mind. Milk and sugar? He nodded no to both. He had gotten used to drinking both coffee and tea black and strong.
Alexander watched as Amberelle placed a tea strainer on top of his mug (always a good sign), and carefully poured the tea through the strainer. He politely thanked her when the mug was full and waited for Amberelle to pour herself her own cup of tea.
The aroma from the mug was both bitter and heady, and Alexander smiled approvingly. He didn't need to guess that the tea was Earl Grey. One of his favourites. Both vampires lifted their mugs of tea and smiled at one another. Such a pleasant way to pass the time, Alexander thought.
"Would it be presumptious to enquire if you would like to dine out with moi some evening, and perhaps catch a show at the theatre?"
A large smile spread across her face at Alex's inquiry and her inner voice squealed with delight. I'd love to have dinner with you, and the theatre is always fun. My time is pretty much my own here, so when is good for you? In the back of her mind she knew she should be inviting him to sit down but didn't want to break their current train of thought.
"I will leave the time up to you Amberelle. I will work around whatever timeframe you have in mind. And of course, the choice of cuisine is yours as well."
Alexander pondered the choice of theatre and show. He would have to enquire to Rupert about that and arrange transporation for him and Amberelle for the night.
"Is there anything else you would like me to attend to, Amberelle?"
The open ended question had Amberelle grinning at a rush of wicked thoughts. Opening her mouth but closing it quickly, and she chuckled while giving Alexander a mock stern look. Now now, no baiting me. Pausing she considered for a moment before continuing. There is one thing.. Please, call me by my nickname.. Amby. I think the only people who insist on calling me Amberelle are my grandparents. Her tone was teasing as she spoke. And please I'd rather *not* associate you with them. Would bring some rather awkward moments, comprendre vous?
Setting her empty cup down, she came around the bar to stand beside him. But no.. other than that, nothing. I don't want to keep you from your evening's plans. Giving him a shy smile, she unconsciously tucked a few stray hairs behind one ear and chewed on her lip slightly. Thanks for coming in, and having tea with me. I enjoyed it a lot.
Alexander watched as Amberelle gently pushed back a few errant strands of hair.
"Well I was rather hoping to practise some of that interesting lip locking technique that you paralyzed me with in the gym earlier Amby." Alexander smiled slyly as he placed her hands in his.
"But if you rather retire for the evening, then that is perfectly acceptable."
At first their lips brushed softly, slow, short kisses and nuzzles. It was like dipping your toe into the pool, testing the water slowly and cautiously. Wanting more she nipped on his lower lip then let her tongue flick his lips softly, asking for entrance. They parted and she began to explore his mouth. Amby could still taste the tea faintly mixed with his own flavor. Like a moth to a flame she was drawn to and finally let the tip of her tongue brush his fang. It made her shiver. Never had she been bitten and it wasn't painful, Gustav was just a sadist that way, but she knew people said it could be. Curiosity and a mischevious streak had her nipping his tongue with her fangs gently when he began to advance his attentions and returned her explorations with his own. It was no where near enough to draw blood but it felt so good.
Not breaking their kiss she stepped back slowly and guided him to the sofa, then pulled him down to sit beside her. That done she let her hands wander over him again, scratching lighting through his shirt.
He'd never had another vampire nip and bite away at his lips and tongue and he wondered if Amberelle was afraid to go further. She seemed to shy away from committing herself to that act of 'penetration.' Alexander pondered that for a moment and then pushing his index finger to her lips smiled. He scraped the center of his tongue with with right fang, enough to draw blood, the heady aroma causing him to blush in spite of himself.
He opened his mouth slowly to show Amberelle his reddened teeth and the cut along his tongue. He entwined his fingers with Amberelle's and waited to see if she would take advantage of the opportunity.
Her eyes closed as the vitae danced on her tongue like liquid fire. Moaning, she deepened her kiss hungrily lapping and plunging her tongue into his mouth seeking every drop. The crimson fluid burned through her, strong and potent. His taste was salty and rich, and so much more robust that any blood she'd ever tasted. Amberelle fought the urge to nip him again for more and instead forced herself to pull away, shaking slightly. Her hands were still in his, holding them tightly as her breathing was rough and heavy.
Her voice was husky and trembled slightly when she looked back at him and smiled softly. Thank you.. I.. I'd never h-had kindred blood before. What he'd done had felt so intimate, suprising her. She felt flushed, even from just a few drops and her hunger was strong, reminding the blonde she hadn't fed tonight. Swallowing hard, she caressed his hands with her thumbs a moment. Her expression was contemplative as she considered what she wanted to do.
With a mental nod, she carefully bit her own tongue deeply and let the blood flow in, hot and sweet. Her eyes sought his, their gaze intense. The man before her wouldn't know it but this was the first time the young Anantya had ever willingly offered up her blood. She parted her lips to show him her offering and watched for his reaction.
And now she was offering her lifesblood to him, her precious vitae. This was more intoxicating than sex, and just as arousing. Alexander bit his own tongue again as he leaned forward, eager to 'share' in the mixing of vitae.
The shock was electrifying as he pressed his parted lips against hers, and alternately sucked and flickered his tongue in and out, over her sharpened teeth soft tongue. A cold burning that made his heart beat involuntarily, pumping even more vitae into his mouth as he tasted her dark sweetness.
Alexander moaned, and wrapped his arms around Amberelle, embracing her tightly, pressing her chest against his. No wonder the sharing of vitae had been considered one of the most intimate gifts that vampries could share with one another. It was power and control, and submission and compliance all at once.
And in the sharing of blood, he could taste her essence, the dark spark of life that made Amberelle who she was. She clung to him as tightly as he did to her, digging her nails into his back, but unable to break the skin. Another mystery, thought Alexander. But one he would dwell upon later.
Alexander wondered if Amberelle would 'bite.' Pushing himself reluctantly away for a second he gently pulled her head towards the right side of his neck. He brushed down her hair and gently whispered in her left ear.
"It would be an honor."
Amby bent her head forward, pressing a soft kiss to the tender flesh. Her tongue swiped gently across his neck, tasting him. His scent was delicious, filling her mind. It called to her, the ambrosia flowing through his veins. Grazing her teeth over his skin lightly, she managed to hold on to her sanity long enough to give him one last chance to pull away. When he didn't she slowly sank her aching fangs into his neck. It suprised her how hard it was for her to pierce his flesh and she had to bite harder than she would have, especially when trying to be gentle.
Suddenly there it was, hot and so sweet, pouring into her mouth and she moaned. Amberelle drank slowly, letting the intoxicating fluid flow over her tongue as she savored every drop. It was like concentrated fire filling her and radiating out, igniting every inch of her body. Alex was a thousand times more potent than anything she had ever tasted before. Her pulse roared in her ears and her head spun. Her body trembled in his arms but she didn't notice.
Forxing herself to pull away before she took too much of his life's blood, Amby lapped at the seeping wound hungry for every bit of him. Even once it was all gone she continued lick then to press light kisses up his neck until her lips hovered over his ear. Please, she whispered, holding him close. What exactly she was asking for even she wasn't sure, but she knew that she had to share some of the exquisite pleasure she'd just experienced with him.
Sliding her hands up to his shoulders, she let her head fall back and turned her neck to him. She was still quivering with desire and filled with the heady euphoria of feeding, but Amberelle knew she had to have him take her in that way. What he had given her had to be shared. Again she asked him, Please.
To fall helplessly into the arms of a predator. To willingly succumb to the attentions of the vampire, prey lost in ecstasy with the devourer? He couldn't speak, couldn't move his arms. He had given Amberelle complete control over him, life and death were in her kiss and he had trusted her completely.
He gasped when she closed the wound, still licking and kissing the bite area. And now she offered herself to him as willingly as a bride on her wedding night. It was not greed, it was not lust that propelled him forward, his mouth widening as his fangs pierced her skin with grateful ease. Could it be love?
He felt the pulse of her veins beneath the skin, and the initial burst of vitae as he broke through was enough to make him embrace her even tighter. Sweeter than nectar, more heady than wine. He could feel her being, taste what she was and who she had become. A thousand images, a thousands smells and voices whispering at the edge of his consciousness as he continued to drawn upon her vitae.
A trickle of bloody tears ran from crystal blue eyes as he licked clean the wound and reluctantly drew away, alternately kissing and licking the puncture mark area. He trembled and kissed her gently on the forehead before pressing his bloodied lips to hers. Sex was irrelevant when there was a sharing like this. Infinitely more intimate and soul baring. And addictive. Each time he kissed her he could almost taste her vitae, that precious and dark grail.
His lips were clean when he finally pulled away and Amberelle gently licked the last traces of vitae from his cheeks and eyes. She was part of him now, and he was part of her. Whatever else may come to pass, there would always be this moment in time. Not just etched in the memory, but burned in the vitae of both vampires for eternity.
Never in her wildest dreams had Amberelle imagined the depth of pleasure or emotions their kind's dark kiss could bring. As Alex reclaimed the sanguine ambrosia she had taken from him moments before it was like Amby could feel their very souls mingling. Strange emotions stirred in her breast, so strong she physically ached from them. She could taste the salt of unshed tears in her mouth, bitter and strong, but they were tears of joy.
Just when she felt like she couldn't stand the heady sensations another moment he ended his kiss. The feel of his lips as he tenderly kissed her face before returning to her lips shattered something inside her, releasing a torrent of emotions from her chest. It was like a drug she realized as she kissed him. She was sated and yet remembering the taste of him left her hungry for more. A single tear slid from her eye as she sofly bathed his face, her mind marveling at this incredible man who was so obviously as moved by their intimate act as she had been.
Looking up at him, her eyes shimmered with unshed tears and awe. She tried to speak but there were no words that could begin to describe the depth of her feelings. With his actions Alex had soothed so many of her wounds and given her more hope than she had ever known since the moment she had her mortal life ended. For the rest of her life she would never forget him and what they had shared this night.
Gently, she caressed the side of his face with a trembling hand. Being fed from always left her weak but this time it was different, like a languid warmth that infused her. The world could be ending outside her door and it would not move her from his side right now.
Alexander hadn't felt so... young in a long, long time. His heart actually pounded in his chest and his skin was flushed with the crimson ambrosia he had passionately taken from Amberelle. No wonder the Elders warned against this kind of contact between vampires. It was highly intimate and extremely intoxicating. Completely different from feeding on a human vessel.
The two vampires had literally opened themselves up to one another in the most primal way possible for their kind. The experience would never be forgotten, and he doubted he would share such a moment with another of their kind again. But what did that mean for him and Amberelle? Alexander stifled the cynic within him and instead enjoyed being held by another without fear of exposure, shame, or fear.
He was no saint, and certainly no innocent. But tonight was as close as he would ever come to attaining such grace.
"I have never shared or taken such a gift from any of our kind before, Amby." said Alexander softly as he gently ran his fingers through her hair. "I thank you most humbly for placing your trust in me. I am honoured."
So peaceful and so vulnerable.
"Would you like to walk through the gardens for a while. I hear they are exceedingly pleasant this time of the evening?"
((ooc - we can finish up if you like or keep going - your choice. ))
Finally it was Alexander who broke the silence. His admission brought a smile to the corners of her lips and she raised her head to look into those clear blue eyes. Her gaze was tender and sincere as she replied to him. You honored me as well. It was my first time to.. Hesitating, she pondered her words. Somehow it felt wrong to call what they had just experienced "taking". That was more like her past experiences and nothing like tonight. Well, for receiving from another. Something dark and sad flickered across her face and she dropped her eyes a moment before returning to meet his. And thank you for showing me that there can be pleasure in the kiss. I'd honestly thought that wasn't possible.. Her voice trailed off and she sighed softly.
All those things she'd been avoiding thinking about were coming back rapidly. Part of her was terrified by the intimacy that they had just shared. Her first instinct was to run away and to try and distance herself from him and these feelings he'd stirred to life. Except leaving was the last thing she wanted to do right now. His question left her at a crossroads. Yes or no. Stay or run. Her head lost this round.
Oui.. a walk would be good, I think we could both use some fresh air, non? Just give me a second to change. She motioned to the workout clothes she still wore. This might be a little cold ya know.
Standing, she lifted her arms upwards and stretched in a very feline manner. Walking to her bedroom doors, she paused and turned to look over her shoulder at him. Don't go anywhere now.. she teased him with a smile. Closing the doors she hurried into her closet and stripped. While she would have liked to shower that was more time than she wanted to take. Clean undergarments went on first then she turned to her shelves. Grabbing a black tee and jeans she dressed quickly then slipped on a pair of combat boots. Pulling a powder blue zip up hooded sweatshirt down, she stepped back into the bathroom and frowned at her hair. It was a touseled mess, half out of the braid with strands down everywhere. Sighing she pulled the last bits loose and finger combed it until it was at least somewhat tidy.
The doors opened and she came back into the living room. She'd been gone less than five minutes and hoped he hadn't minded waiting.
He could understand the elation, he had felt it himself. But the sadness? Perhaps she was reacting to a withdrawal from the blood sharing, or quite possibliy there was a genuine reason why she had reacted so. That wistful sigh of hers had almost made him grab her and hug her tightly, almost, but not quite.
Alexander realized she was probably as reserved as he was, and that this evening had touched upon more than an exquisite gift giving. He wondered how he would react later when he was alone and in his spartan quarters. That thought scared him and he shivered.
With Amberelle's return to the living room, Alexander smiled at her and held the door open for her.
"Ladies and female vampires first." He bowed with a mock flourish of his hands and stepped aside.
