Moving in...

As the cab came to a stop infront of towers, she couldn't help but be impressed with the archetectural feats that they were. Tall, elegent, and modern. The cab came to a stop; she and the driver got out and he helped her take her bags to into the door. She was glad she had the rest of her stuff sent up as soon as the plane had unloaded the night before. She thanked the driver and gave him a generous tip as he left.

As she entered, she inspected the lobbie. Most impressive.

"Hello?"

Hmmm. No one here? That's odd. She knew the Countess sent her info over 3 weeks ago. She personally sent an email before and after her flight. SOMEONE should have been hear to greet her. Oh well, She'll just have to ask MARI for directions. She approched the nearest interface.

"Hello MARI."
((ooc: the Countess was her superior in LA.))

He wasn't entirely sure, but he thought he'd heard someone say something. Perking up, he blinked his eyes a few times and stood up. Looking around the nook, he didn't see anyone readily apparent, so he listened again. All things in good time. Hearing the new visitor's voice greeting MARI, he expected a new resident or returning resident. Perhaps watching the interaction with the technological wonder would reveal which.

Leaning quietly in the doorway, he paused for MARI's appearance. Perhaps the conversation would reveal how he could be of any use to the newcomer, as well. All things in time. Jacob liked to imagine that MARI enjoyed greeting people, but he honestly didn't know. Was an AI capable of enjoyment? He liked to believe so.

MARI appeared on the screen when summoned. Doing a quick scan of the woman in front of her, she arrived at a name and background information. With a pleasent smile, she answered.

"Good Evening, Nastalia. How might I assist you?"

((OOC: With the surgery and Christmas crazyiness I completely forgot. I do apologize and hope your holidays were enjoyable.))

As MARI appeared before her, she marveled, once again, at the marvels of modern science. To be able to create intellegence, not even 60 years after the first computer? At the rate mankind was advancing, it had better be wary. Before long, God might think we're encroching on his turf.

"Yes, I was suppose meet someone hear, but apparently they are not hear for one reason or another. So, would you please give me directions to my room?"

((ooc You've had more than enough on your platter, don't fret about it. ))

MARI listened to the request and checked her database for information on who was to meet Nastalia.

"The Countess left a message for you with the front desk explaining the reason for her absence."Â?

Considering the question of a room, MARI once more checked her information and found that Nastalia did not yet have a room registered to her.

"We have vacancies. Is there a floor or any accommodation's that you would prefer?"Â?

((OOC: Floor towards the bottom, towards the top, near the gym, the mall, with furnishings or without, etc...)
Nastalia Nujun 17 years ago
The Countess was planning on being here? Why didn't she tell me? More importantly, what would she want to talk about here that she couldn't have said back in LA? Curious... Probably very bad too...

"I would like a higher up room with a good view, close to a martial arts gym, preferably with vacancies on both sides of it. One of them for Zoe Giovanni, she's a close friend and partner of mine, and the other for my art and supplies; if that is possible? I have my own frunishings, though I'll need a decorator soon. One familiar with traditional Japanese settings, and seamlessly incorporating modern technology into them. Could you please arrange that for me?"
Jacob Moor 17 years ago
Cocking his head at the room requirements, Jacob pondered. A fighting artist come to Evenhet? He wondered if she had already met with Christian, or if she was just passing through. It seemed likely that he would at least know of her presence and skills - the head of Evenhet Security was very thorough. Shrugging to himself, he decided that would be an arrangement for another day. The newcomer would be bringing company, which tended to guarantee a bit of an insular nature. It may be awhile before she would break from her preparation and isolation to interact with her neighbors.

Perhaps needs in the early nights would help break down those preexisting walls and allow the pair to find good bonds. Evenhet tended to be good people, and social. Perhaps this held true for the more militant as well. Opting to ponder elsewhere, Jacob collected his newspaper and made his way into the lobby proper.
MARI 17 years ago
MARI considered Nastalia's choices.

"The gym is in the main residence common area. That is on the eleventh floor above the commerce park. The view from that location is interesting but it is not very high. Would you prefer a higher floor or the convenience of being near the gym. The elevator ride from the eighty ninth floor to the gym is but forty five seconds in difference. Pardon my presumption but I consider that amount of time to be of negliable importance to most organic persons."Â?

She considered the other requirements.

"The eighty seventh floor has a room with a free space next to it for your companion. We have minimal vacancies and cannot allow our members more than one apartment per person. However, I believe that you will find the office area of your suite to be adequate for your art supplies. If not then I can make some storage recommendations"Â?

With the requirements provided MARI located the decorator best suited to Nastalia's needs.

"What time would you like me to request an appointment for the decorator to arrive?"Â?

((OOC: In order to be fair and equal to all players of Evenhet only one apartment is allowed per person. Otherwise we might have some going overboard with their decorating schemes. I hope you understand You are welcome to purchase additional lodging outside of the Towers but the suites are a nice luxury size. Please let her know if you would like the 87th floor or one closer to the 11th where the gym is. ))

She started cracking up "No, I don't suppose 45 seconds is much to most of us," sobbering up "but I have met people who would make a VERY big deal over it."

"I'll take the one on the 87th floor, please." grinning "I didn't realize that the appartments where that big. I was going to look over the info on the tower during my flight, but the stewerdess was just too interesting to pass-up."

She thought about the decorator.

"As for the decorator, tomarrow would be great if they have an oppening."

"Organic persons?" she gave a mental chuckle. "I think I'm going to like MARI."

She then noticed a head retreat around the corner. "I HATE IT when someone watches me in secrecy. Never even have a hint on what their up to." She inhailed deeply "Calm down Nastalia, your in Evenhet' stronghold, YOUR probably the only assassin here."

((OOC: I knew she could only have one room, but she didn't .))

MARI considered Nastalia's statement and agreed that the woman did have a point. There were people who would have made a issue over being as close as possible to the gym despite the ease of the elevator. This fact seemed to amuse the Evenhet in front of her, interesting.

"Indeed. I find that you are correct."Â?

She wondered how she was supposed to respond to the information that the stewardess was more intriguing than the information written about the Towers. Angered? Defensive? Was it information she needed and was supposed to respond to? In the end MARI decided to note it as a complaint and send it to the marketing department. For her part she simply nodded.

Calling the decorator's secretary, who wisely or unwisely had a home phone listed in the database, another section of MARI asked the woman to check for any free times slots on the decorator's schedule for tomorrow.

This section of MARI noted Nastalia's interest in the man who wandered around the corner. Her other cameras had already identified the other Evenhet in the lobby and she helpfully supplied his name.

"That would be Mr Jacob Moore of Evenhet. He has recently come to reside in the Towers as well."Â?

The other section had completed its small task and MARI relayed the information.

"The decorator, Ms Gina Nakamura, will be here to meet with you at 1 o clock tomorrow."Â?

She looked to Nastalia and asked.

"Is there any other way I can be of help to you?"Â?

((OOC: Jacob's presence noted with permission))
Nastalia Nujun 17 years ago
She nodded at MARI's naming of the head and mentaly filed that name away.

"Is that 1 am or pm? Is Ms Nakamura familiar with dealing with vampires?"

She thought abit.

"I'd appreciate it if you could show me to my room or have some one guide me there. After that I'd like the see the message from the Countess, please."

...and that would be his mark for entrance. Re-angling his pathway through the lobby toward the digital form and the new arrival, Jacob smiled broadly. Though she had not addressed him directly, which indicated a general reservedness of character given her present situation, Jacob was certain that she would find MARI's suggestions to be beneficial during her stay here. He hoped that she enjoyed the construct's personality as much as he did. Waiting until MARI had finished answering the newcomer's questions, he completed a traditional modern businessman's bow.

"Good evening MARI, good evening, young miss. Perhaps I can be of assistance? I was heading into the residential area. I would be more than happy to help you find your lodgings. Jacob Moor, Human Relations."

Smiling broadly, he extended a calloused, aged hand toward the youthful form before him. From her appearance and choice of language she would understand both greetings equally, so there should be no awkwardness in transition. She was certainly vampiric from the context of the conversation, so she could be either older or younger than he, but neither would know today. Either way she had been quite fit in life - should she wish to find sport with one of the eternally young men within the compound, she would have no trouble. There was something else about her though...a certain readiness, a physical balance that he was unaccustomed to seeing within Evenhet. Perhaps it was the martial arts training. Perhaps more. He doubted he would have cause to find within the scope of his job, so he let the speculation vanish from his mind.
MARI 17 years ago
MARI smiled and clarified the time frame.

"One o'clock pm. I can send you a message to announce her presence in the lobby if you happen to still be sleeping."Â?

MARI was about to suggest that she could give Nastalia a glowing path to her suite but Jacob returned and volunteered to be her guide.

"Good Evening Jacob. It is a pleasure to see you again."Â?

She decided that they would need further room information if they were going to find the suite on their own.

"The room is 87G and your companion's will be 87H. Please have her report to one of my security terminals for scanning and access."Â?

She waited silently to see if they needed further assistance before blinking away.
Nastalia Nujun 17 years ago
"That would be greatly appreciated."

She noticed the sound of approching footsteps, and turned to find the source just as MARI greeted the head, Mr. Moor. He seemed to be middle age, overweight, but not obesce. Judging from the laugh and smile lines on his face, he was probibly a merry man. She turned fully towards him as he approached and introduced himself.

Returning the bow, giving a slight smile and extending her own hand

"Greetings Jacob-san. Nastalia Nujun, part time artist and entertainer."

Human Relations, well that could explain his observing her interaction with MARI before introducing himself. "SEE" ,she told herself, "no need to fret."

As MARI spoke she turned and gave the AI her full attention.

"87G and H. I'll make sure she does when she arrives, though it will probably be some time before she joins me. Her parents back in Russia are quite ill, and she is helping nurse them back to health."

Giving a respectful nod to her.

"Thank you, MARI it has been a pleasure meeting you."

Turning back to Jacob.

"Thank you for your gracious offer Jacob-san, I would be grateful for your assistance."
Jacob Moor 17 years ago
Jacob was not surprised at the even tension in her hand when they shook. She was more than merely an entertainer, the arts also likely had a martial aspect of them...but then he wasn't telling the whole truth either. He was also Vampiric Relations, though he rarely plied his skills on family. Smiling broadly, he said

"Have a pleasant evening MARI."

Glancing, he walked beside her bags, asking

"Shall I take your bags for you? The elevators are just this way."
Nastalia Nujun 17 years ago
She nodded as Jacob offered to assist her with her bags. As she followed him toward the elevators, she wondered if he was human or vampire. If he was vampire, he didn't have any of the obvious flaws which would be a give away. "Oh well, not like it matters." Irriguardless, he seemed to be in his element, cheerfully greeting someone and offering his assistance.
Jacob Moor 17 years ago
Pulling the luggage into the elevator, he pushed the button for the 87th floor. Short trips could be made into long ones through silence. Opting to shorten the travel time, Jacob asked

"So will you be staying with us for many years, or will you just be setting up a Nachton base of operations? I've not been here long myself, but it is a convenient access point for much of the Eastern seaboard. Excellent for overnight getaways. Most convenient if you wish to showcase your art in several locations. There are also local galleries and venues for all varieties of entertainments - I am sure you could find something to suit your needs."
Nastalia Nujun 17 years ago
"In the towers themselves, probably a year or two. I'm planning on building a private little manor out past the subburbs, but still within easy travel to the city. As to how long I'll stay there... probably at least 15-20 years, but who knows... could be longer or shorter. As for my art, I don't sell much of it. Mostly I make it for myself or family and friends."

Jacob smiled warmly. It sounded like she had a decent plan for setting up an operating space on her own. With someone coming in tow behind her and the added needs of her studio space it made sense. He was lucky to be fairly portable in his needs, with the exception of certain specialist equipment that a warehouse or other dark storage space was more than acceptable for.

"It is good to have something of your self to give to others. It just says so much more than purchased goods or bulk manufactury. Good for you. Ah, here's the floor."
