Australian For "Home"... (Attn: Brig)
Lily had been born to wealth, spoiled by a grandfather and then a husband. Therefore the long flight from Canberra to Nachton was made in comfort on a private jet, and she arrived rested and freshly-showered. Sitting quietly with her hands folded in her lap as they landed, she didn't rise until the single attendant entered the cabin and informed her in a soft, polite voice that she could exit whenever she liked.
With a word of thanks, Lily picked up her shoulderbag. Smoothing her clothes she checked her watch; right on time. Good; Brig would be happy.
She was dressed well; a soft white wool cowl-neck sweater over a calf-length skirt of deep rose silk with a white and gold flower pattern on it. Soft brown suede half-boots, well-waterproofed, fit snugly on her feet. Lily had tried to dress for the occasion; it was, after all, summer in Australia right now and she'd tucked most of her winter clothes away.
Descending the few steps to the ground, her excellent senses, so much more finely-honed than many others of her kind, picked out Brig most likely before he even saw her. She caught his scent, a mix of wood chips and pungent gun oil; saw even in the fading evening light the sprinkling of freckles across the bridge of his nose, the grey strands in his hair.
Alighting to the ground she favored him with a small smile. She didn't know Brig very well; she didn't really know any of her Packmates well, save for Aidan, Iov, and Liam. Brig was Iov's kin though, and while she didn't know him well, she had known him for most of her life. Enough that by now, her quiet nature and aloof manner would hopefully not insult him.

Standing on the tar mack, Brig gave her a polite nod and his best southern drawl..which really wasn't that good.
'Hello there, ma'am.' Brig twirled his grey fedora back onto his head and offered her his arm. 'I hope your trip was a pleasant one, Mrs. Xephier?'
Brig wasn't sure why Hammer had sent him in his place, seeing how the Alpha's mother would, he thought, be a priority for the Beta. He had other things on his mind right now, things he himself didn't quite understand but you didn't question the Beta, even if he was a little shorter.
"Thank you Brig, it was fine."
She looked at him then, really looked at him, and realized it was the first time she had addressed Brig by name. All in one moment she was sorry and contrite; sorry that she had never done so before now, but contrite because she knew Liam wouldn't approve. His eyes were on her even now, and they would never stray away.
Shaking her head slightly she added, "Maybe a little tiring," even though she wasn't at all tired. It was habit to project a defenseless air up front.
Her bags were being unloaded from the luggage compartment of the small plane, and she took Brig's arm lightly as it was offered. She was looking forward to seeing this new place, to seeing the Den and what her son had accomplished, but most of all, to seeing Aidan and Iov for the first time in decades, even if the meeting wouldn't be entirely pleasant.
He led the matriarch to the car and opened the door for her. It was a sleek black mercedes he had brought, not because of its status symbol, but mostly because of its engine power and handling ability at high speeds. Brig had not anticipated any trouble, but it wouldn't do to bring her home dishelved in anyway. He held the door open, giving her another charming smile.
Slipping into the passenger seat of the streamlined car, she waited as her bags were loaded into the trunk. Smoothing her skirt once more she settled in for the ride, uncertain how long it was. It didn't really matter; she wouldn't inquire about the distance. She had waited all these years to see her son and her friend again. She could wait a few more minutes, a few more hours, whatever it took.
It didn't please her to deliver the news she was here to deliver, but when all was said and done, when the storm passed, she would be free to enjoy their company.
