A New Car
Colorful word filled the area around a bright green VW bug, as Ginnie tried to get her things arranged properly in the boot and back seat. Nothing was working. She had three new cases, along with a hunting kit for Shay to get into the cursed thing and it just wasn't working. With a rather loud swear Ginnie punched the window. The damn thing shattered which just made everything that much worse and the words were no longer colorful, just vulgar and pissy.
She climbed from the back seat of the little car and gave a petulant kick to the pile of glass. She cussed again, shut the door and stomped out of the garage and rode up to street level. It was just past sundown, so she had several hours to take care of the now urgent business before she took Shay hunting. She hoped into a flat out run and made it the half mile up the road that would land her a taxi in around a minute. She hailed a yellow cab and slid panting into the back seat.
"Car dealers please."
The dark skinned man shrugged and pulled away from the curb. He took her to the motor mile and she paid him at the first stop which happened to be a Ford dealer, and he left her standing there. She climbed the railing and started looking around the lot. She saw some cars that were nice, but nothing that tripped her fancy so she walked from that dealer to the next. Nothing but sports cars at the Import dealer. She passed through that one, the quickness of her stride and the don't fuck with me look on her face kept the salesmen at bay. The next lot was a Chevy dealer. She surveyed the cars and found herself drawn to the big behemoths on the far side. She had no need for such a large car, but they seemed to call to her and damn if they weren't sexy.
The first ones had three rows of seats and were called Suburbans, two strikes was enough for her to move on to the next set called Equinox. These were just a bit to squashed looking to her so she moved on. The next set were called TrailBlazers. She passed by the ones with three rows of seats and found some with two. It was then that a salesman approached her. She'd slowed down and the hardness had left her eyes as she felt into lust with the big black machine she circled.
She and the man spoke for a while talking about the features of the truck. He kept calling it that or SUV, she had to stop him once and ask him what SUV meant. The surprise on his face did not go unnoticed, but it was quickly covered and he explained in his snake oil voice. They talked a while longer then he went and got the keys. He let her inside the vehicle and she crawled all over the thing. It was easy to plant her boot and climb over the back seat and into the boot of the SUV, that had some major advantages. She crawled all over the back, taking stock of the place. She could really do some nice modifications back here and turn the thing into a mobile safe spot. She would have plenty of room for her cases plus anything else she wanted to put back there.
She opened the back door and crawled out. She went around and crawled back into the back seat. There was a television in the ceiling that made her giggle like a girl. That could be a great deal of fun to have. She climbed into the front and played with all of the buttons for a few minutes, until the guy asked if she wanted to take it for a spin. She bounced in the seat and took the keys from him.
The engine came to life with a roar then purred like a damn kitten. She pulled out of the lot and they drove down the road and she turned at his directions. It handled like a sports car, and she could feel the power of the engine begging to be let free. It was exhilarating and made things low in her belly clench. She was going to have to find Alec when she got home and let him help her celebrate her new car.
They pulled back into the lot and parked in front of the big glass building and she kept the keys as they limbed out and went inside. They spoke for a while, she didn't bother to haggle with him, he would take the price down to only a certain amount regardless of what she said or did so she let him do that, then he asked about financing.
She grinned at him and told him she'd be paying cash. She pulled her phone out and had to turn away from his stunned face as she called her bank in Zurich. She had the money transferred to her bank here in Nachton. She called that bank and they cut the check while she was on the phone. They hung up as the woman was getting transport of the check squared away.
She informed the salesman, Bill she'd learned his name was, that it would be there with in twenty minutes. They went about signing papers and he offered her a cup of coffee while her car was made ready and they waited on the currier.
Thirty minutes later she had a spiffy new Chevy keychain attached to her big black key that went to her sexy new Trailblazer.
She drove it back to the domicile, stopping long enough to register it with the computer, and pulled in next to the bug. The little green car looked like a child's toy next to the giant sexiness of the Blazer but she was ok with that. She opened the back of both vehicles and began to transfer everything from the bug to the SUV. Everything fit into one line against the seat of the SUV, where it had barely fit in the trunk and back seat of the bug. She clapped her hands like a little girl, before closing up the cars. She left the keys of the bug in the ignition, beeped the alarm of the Trailblazer and stopped at the computer to make arrangements for the disposition of the bug.
In the elevator she called Alec and told him to meet her at home. He was waiting when she arrived. She tackled him with a running jump, and as she ripped at his clothes, she told him what she'd done. It was the perfect celebration, if she did say so herself.
