Mai turned her gaze back into the vehicle at Thaddeus's touch.
"Ba-di-kun?" They had fallen silent, perhaps it was time to go. She hoped they had found what they needed but she was growing very bored and the need to be out in the open was growing stronger the longer she sat there. Watching the outside and knowing Thaddeus needed her here were the only things that kept her inside.
" Done, nee?"
Interclan relations
Alfarinn opened the door for Thaddeus and smiled. The Anantya was probably regretting the decision about now. He didn't really blame him, Thaddeus was putting a lot of trust into the hands of a stranger. That took a lot of resolve. He understood just how bad the man wanted to find this killer and what lengths he was likely to go to in order to find him. Alfarinn had tracked down someone for very similar personal vengeance in his own past.

Alfarinn nodded and opened the door. He needed to get out at least long enough to stretch his legs as well.
"Of course. Thank you both for your trust. It is a rare thing amongst our kind."
He stepped out and stood behind the door waiting for his guests to exit as well. This had been an intersting night. He wasn't sure where this was all headed but felt that there some irrevocable change had taken place. Perhaps it would be something that eventually lead to a better peace between the clans. That was certainly his hope.

Thaddeus nodded his head in acknowledgement of Alfarinn's words, but his eyes stayed with Mai.
A rare thing indeed, Alfarinn.
Then he turned and followed Alfarinn out of the limo, extending his hand to guide Mai out as well.
One hell of a friend indeed.
He turned to Alfarinn and inclined his head slightly.
We will meet again soon.

" Until then. Safe journey to you both."
Alfarinn got back into the limo and shut the door. Rolling down the partition , he said quietly to his driver.
"Home please."
He'd have a lot on his mind tonight, there would be no sleeping. Alfarinn wondered if he could manage to find a snack wandering around the highrise this late at night.

Thaddeus turned back only once to watch the retreating limo; though he sincerely trusted Alfarinn, old habits die hard, and he would feel more at ease knowing that they were not being followed. Satisfied, he turned back to Mai.
Let's go home.
It was comforting to Thaddeus, to have a friend with whom there was no need for words. He was rather talked out, and while his mind was still in turmoil, with Mai he could simply be.
He walked in silence, just a bit behind Mai, the entire way home.

Mai was relieved to be out of the cramped space. She looked at Thaddeus long and hard to judge his mental state. Deciding he was fine, if perhaps a bit worn out, Mai led them back to the manor. She turned her head skyward to the hunter in the stars and wondered about this new path they were on but at this point her skills were not needed. It was the job of Alfarinn and her Ba-di to figure these things out...once there was a live trail to hunt or a real person to follow then she'd be useful and more than ready.
Soon Emma-san soon.
