We need a party.

I've got a lot of story lines open at once right now. I personally don't have time to run anything or even send anyone to something at this moment. If some threads clear up then maybe but otherwise it will have to go on without mine.

Maybe something at the ballpark like a massive concert? or are we thinking high brow..? How about a big rave outside the city!?

I was thinking we could put it in the event section so not to interrupt anyone. Just a mini event but a party to have us all mingle together. Not a full out event, I don't have the time to write for something like that either.

Well I'm figuring since it's a mini event, we can do both, obviously just one at a time. I like the idea of doing like a quarterly fun thing or even a monthly fun thing. No obligations, just hanging out and mingling with new folk, old folk and playing with each other =D

There will be a live Mariachi band as well as a local flamenco dancing competition in the outdoor courtyard. After the competition feel free to join us in moving to the Latin rhythm as we open the floor to anyone brave enough to join in. So bring your maracas and your dancing shoes because its going to be a fiesta to remember!

My only fear with Cinco de Mayo is that many threads are still taking place at or around Christmas! Nachton has not quite gotten back up to speed after the holidays.

There are a number of great ideas that could also be done from a block party on the strip to a outdoor multi artist concert to a convention.

*nodnodnod* I was thinking one of those huge all day long and well into the night with multiple artists on multiple stages (local, famous and up and coming) with all kinds of craziness going on type of concerts, like we have here in Houston several times a year.

I do see the problem with a lot of people being stuck near Christmas and it would be hard to anticipate (and let slip some secrets possibly!) what events have happened by May.

But.... a party sounds *fun* So, what do TPTB have to say?

Something ROz and I kicked around was a casino opening on the waterfront, which I think would be fun as well.
However, as far as a Cinco De Mayo event, being that this is going to be a special event, which are usually limited in participation time, we wouldn't have the problem with it dragging on as some of the Christmas ones did. Would we?

ooooo a casino!!!!! that sounds fun, and like a great place for both a swanky hang out alternative to Club E (for the high rollers) or a laid back, go hang out and goof off, maybe see a show kind of thing.

And all the plans sound fun to me, I'm up for anything anywhere, A big fair like thing could be fun with bands and outdoor food etc. with different stages and just a relaxed atmosphere
