Rupert
How is this?
The Manor Staff
The Manor is staffed with the expected housekeeping and maintenance crews as well as a host of butlers, chefs, and chauffeurs. Most of the staff are human familiars, though there are exceptions - sometimes an abandoned former familiar will come to work for the Manor, as once a human is 'in the know', they cannot be allowed to simply roam free.
Discretion and loyalty are two distinctive traits of the Manor staff. The expression 'you won't even know I'm here' applies to the employees.
Rupert Burke, the Head Butler, leads the staff and is a testament to the core traits the Manor values in a staff member. Rupert never argues with Manor residents, as that would be far above his pay grade; he avoids conflict at all costs and resolves any issues that may arise behind the scenes rather than directly. Rupert never gossips; he is the soul of discretion and prides himself on this character trait. Because he is a familiar (though his master is undisclosed), he is generally treated with due respect; Anantya law is clear on the matter of respecting each other's property.
Rupert and/or any appropriate employee of the Manor are there to see to your needs. You are welcome to move Rupert or other employees, as these are NPCs and not subject to the role-play rules for characters. You may assume that Manor Staff has fulfilled whatever requests your character has come up with (within reason, of course. When in doubt, ask, either in the Orchard or PM an SA Staff member), whether it be arrangements for housing or simply a copy of the day's paper.
If you have a unique circumstance that requires role playing with Rupert or another Manor Staff member, either post in the Orchard or PM SA Staff. Otherwise, feel free to use the Staff to enrich your posts and make your role playing with player characters smoother.
Ooops, shame on Alfarinn for being in here!! *hides*
This means that you are free to mention Rupert and the other staff in your posts so long as you keep in mind the type of people that are employed in the Manor. We would appreciate our staff to be seen as well mannered and professional at all times. That being said, know that they are there to accommodate any ordinary need that you might have.
EX: Mai opened the door to her room to find one of the staff standing there struggling to hold a large and apparently very heavy package while keeping his well trained decorum intact. She gave him a wide smile, flashing her fangs in mild amusement for his plight. Such heavy lifting would build strength in the poor human and she merely watched him for a long moment. Eventually she reached out and rested one hand under the box and easily lifted it up and away from him. The relieved butler gave her a respectful bow and waited for her permission to leave.
Mai replied with a nod and closed the door.
Maybe something like that to show them what we mean?
