I'm constantly deleting spambot accounts and this way all new users are set into a moderation queue that makes it easier to delete in one click. If you are a current member creating a new alternate account, you can let us know via PM's and we'll make sure we don't delete you. This is also checked on a daily basis so hopefully your wait will never be longer than 6hrs.
