Personal Questions

1. Describe your character's personality: Trin hates to conform. And she is only lady-like when circumstances demand it, though she is smart enough to show proper deference and respect to those of her Clan who merit it (and to those she personally doesn’t feel should!) She gives loyalty with her whole heart to whomever she feels warrants it. The Clan is her life and she will do anything for the Elders or her “siblings”. She’s an active personality – she hates to sit still for any real length of time. She is generally a cheerful sort and tends to accept other Clan members at face value. Those outside the Clan she tends to regard with a certain degree of suspicion. Once someone does gain her trust, that loyalty is unswerving.

2. Describe how your character would appear to a stranger: Trin is loving the Goth styles that work so very well with her white skin, though around the manor she tends to more sedate clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in. She has perfected the art of acting like a modern teenager, which she is very much not. In this way, she tends to be overlooked around the City without having to resort to using her abilities – unless, of course, necessary.

3.What does your character like? To be outdoors, to be around animals. She loves to fence and is learning martial arts. To dance. Anything active, really. She keeps her spying/thieving skills honed by climbing her way around the manor, though she considers the game lost if someone catches her (which, considering she’s dealing with a mansion full of vampires, happens more often than she likes).

4. Dislike? Television, though she does enjoy movies. Reading/studying. Anything that makes her sit still for an extended length of time.

5. (For humans) Describe what abilities you see your character having if they were turned. NA

6. What are your fears?

1 – Failure on a major level. She recognizes that small day to day mistakes are how one grows and learns. In this case, we are talking about failing the Elders and the Clans in some manner that brings attention to the Clan or shame on herself. It is for this reason that she practices her various skills whenever possible, sometimes to the point where she wears herself out (thus, creating a sort of catch-22 as she weakens herself at times that she is pretty much doomed to fail whatever she is currently doing.)
2 – Bats – give her spiders, snakes, the bogeyman, but whatever you do, keep the bats away! She reacts much the same way someone who startles at a spider will. If she is mentally prepared she can overcome this, but it is very difficult for her. This also means she is not fond of caves or other places where bats may lurk.
3 – Large bodies of water – she’s okay with rivers and streams, even ponds, but anything larger and she will start to freak. This fear developed when she traveled from the Caymans to America and her ship was caught in a storm. It is one of the reasons she never returned to her family and also why she didn’t really do any world traveling for the Clan until airplanes became the norm.

7. What are your character's strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths:
1 – Can entertain a party of 20 in a style appropriate to the 18th century (though she’d be mortified to actually be asked to do so!) Trin does remember every lesson learned as attempt after attempt were made to mold her in a “lady” – she just has no use for what she considers unnecessary trappings. Ceremony is something else and she firmly believes in the traditions that surround such.
2 – If it can be done outdoors, she’s a fast learner and will do everything asked in order to learn a new skill.
3 – Protective of those she is loyal to, though sometimes to the point of blindness.

Weaknesses:
1 – Her smaller stature – she avoids physical confrontations, especially with other vamps though she will spar with anyone who is willing.
2 – If it requires a library card, she avoids it like the plague. Trin grasps that there is value to books – she just doesn’t have time for it.
3 – Blind trust in the Clan. A certain degree of loyalty is a good thing – but where Clan is concerned, she goes too far and would do anything a Clan member asked of her without question or without concern that what they are asking for might not be in her own personal best interests.

Vampire

Abilities

Agility - The vampire was gifted with an uncanny grace when made. They are easily able to walk on precarious perches such as rope, able to move from tree to tree, and land like a cat in most tumbling situations.

Ethereal - The body of this vampire is not tied so closely to the earth, they are able to achieve an almost spirit like form, mist like in appearance.

Savage savant – Cat (BJ – longhaired black domestic) - Many coming from earlier times when mankind was closer to nature and her creatures, some vampires are able to commune with animals. Able to speak with them (they're animals don't expect philosophical conversations) call them, eventually even relive their memories and mentally merge with them and use their senses as your own. Vampires with this discipline tend to have a special animal that they commune with. A vampire who normally communicates with a wolf might be able to understand a dog but wouldn't understand a cat. A long time familiarity with a particular animal makes it easier to use their senses because a trust and friendship has been built.

Flaws

Extremely Pale Skin - making it more difficult to pass for human/go unnoticed in public, and thus making hunting/blending in more of a challenge.

Heavy Sleeper - Slow to wake/respond when faced with danger during daylight hours

Hobbies & Skills - Trin was trained early in sword work, but over time came to prefer long knives or stilettos (she’s only so big after all!). She’s “worked” as a thief, utilizing the abilities that she gained upon being turned to make up for her smaller stature, though she usually prefers to use her abilities to do intelligence gathering. She can fight, but prefers defense and run tactics. Gardening – she has turned her balcony area into an enclosed, night blooming retreat (carefully planned so as to blend into the rest of the Manor) – she tends to use this area for meditation as well. She is also a passable guitar player (acoustic) and can carry a tune without making people wince.

Cosmetic Traits: Trin has developed a fascination with piercings and tattoos. At the moment, her right ear sports a cartilage piercing, her belly button is pierced and her nose is pierced. She keeps the jewelry tasteful as she is often in a position to represent the Clan, even if it is a minor way. Her cat, BJ, is usually hovering somewhere in her vicinity while at the manor.

Quirks and Habits worthy of mention – When upset (anger or fear), her right hand automatically goes to her hip, looking for the dagger she probably isn’t wearing (she only goes obviously armed around the Manor – outside the manor, it depends on the errand and what area of town she will be in). She comes across as a kiss-ass at times – but that isn’t her intent. She truly feels that the Clan Elders and those she considers as outranking her to be worthy of that level of respect and deference. She treats the Elders of Evenhet with only a hair less respect. Tacharan’s Elders simply confuse her – they are not acknowledged and she hasn’t figured out where they fall in the grand scheme of things – but she’s not willing to be disrespectful – they are still bigger and stronger than she is!!

Personal History:

Trinity was born the youngest of three sisters to a moderately wealthy cotton plantation owner in the Grand Cayman Islands. She was spoiled only insofar as her father truly wanted a son and so allowed a certain degree of freedom when she turned out to be a tomboy. He encouraged her love of the outdoors and taught her to ride and hunt. Her mother, on the other had, felt that young ladies should act like young ladies and by the age of 14 arranged for her to be sent to America to be sponsored in a private finishing school.

Trin went, having no real choice in the matter. Her sponsor was Sir John Bernard, a minor lord from Britain who recognized Trin’s need for “adventure”. Deciding to channel her potential rebelliousness, he had her taught basic self-defense (for the time) including fire arms and the sword. Not surprisingly, she took to like a fish to water. They tailored her training to accommodate her petite size – she would never have the strength to defeat a much larger opponent, but she could be taught to defend and evade attack. And when all else failed, she could run.

With the advent of the Revolutionary War, Sir John took advantage of her abilities and set her to intelligence gathering. Her innocent face often encouraged people to say a bit more than they should and Sir John took full advantage of that information to protect them both. She became rather good at sneaking into places she shouldn’t have been and pilfering the odd bit of this or that.

It was at this time that she learned Sir John’s secret – he was not human, a discovery that explained a great many things that had puzzled Trin, not the least of which were the odd hours he kept. He offered her the chance to be his familiar. Thinking it over carefully and gauging the danger in the countryside, she asked instead to be turned, to better protect them both.

This was not a decision that either took lightly. Sir John had no real qualms over turning her, though he would have preferred to wait until she was much older and more experienced – not to mention he wasn’t thrilled with losing his daytime eyes. But the war was coming closer day by day and they were running out of time. And so the deed was done.

When things began to settle back down, Sir John took Trin to Nachton so that she could be fully integrated into Clan Anantya where she chose to join the Order of the Night. She has served the Order to the best of her abilities ever since, using both her natural abilities and her vampire abilities for the good of the Clan and at the direction of the Elders. While she has no real understanding of what is done with the information she gathers (studious she is not, any more than she is power hungry!), she does grasp that there is a lot more going on around Nachton than she is privy to.

Sir John spends much time these days traveling at the behest of the Elders, though he remains in close contact with Trin. They have a sort of Uncle-Niece relationship and are each other’s closest confidants.
