Personal Questions

1. Describe your character's personality:

Lonely and a tad bit shy. She moved here to take a very junior position in the museum away from her family and friends. A little prone to get into trouble. Hard working, a bit bookish. Mildly religious, pagan. Prone to excitement.

2. Describe how your character would appear to a stranger (I.E. typical dress, way they carry themselves etc.)

Miya left the museum locking up after herself. Her jeans hugged her body's curves, leaving not much to the imagination. Her hair was pulled up in sparkly purple barrettes today. She seemed tired. Her t-shirt was an advertisement for a local gothic rock band. She turned to trudge through the twilight towards her home for a lonely meal and maybe then she would change and go out. If someone had seen her a few hours before she would have appeared energetic, but inventory could sap the will of the most bubbly personality....

3.What does your character like?

She's shy but she loves crowds of people. She wants to be noticed. She likes quiet time, classical music and dancing. She likes her books and she has big dreams. She likes to watch tv shows and has a thing for crime scene shows.

4. Dislike?

She doesn't like being ignored or feeling invisible. It frustrates her that despite her forays into the 'club' scene she hasn't made the connections she had while attending university in DC. She really doesn't like the drudgery of her job. She hates animals, especially dogs.


5. (For humans) Describe what abilities you see your character having if they were turned.

I don't want her turned :-) At least for a long while. I'm not adverse to it if the RP eventually goes there, but the story would have to be very very good.


6. What are your fears? (please choose and explain 3 minimum)

She's very superstitious, and won't step on a crack, etc. This makes her a little jumpy.
She's afraid of being blown up. Sounds silly but she's seen too many movies of airplane crashes and bombs etc. She doesn't even like loud guy movies because of this and will squeal like a girl.
She's terrified of being alone her entire life and the longer she goes without making friends, the worse it gets and the more it fuels her shyness.
Miya doesn't like heights. She can stand staircases as long as they are enclosed, but asking her to go out on a balconey or an open air staircase? Not gonna happen. She likes being on the ground. Or below it. Below is much better to her.

7. What is your character's strengths and weaknesses? (please pick 3 minimum of each and explain in detail how and why this affects your character)

Miya has an eye for color, taste, and an instinct for things that look good, all of which combine into a pretty good curator. The shows that she has participated in while in school and in dc were successes and she likes the feel of acclaim.

She has a weakness born of the same love for anything flashy, especially if the word sale is involved. This has led her to some money troubles with two maxxed out credit cards.

Miya's strong in a lot of ways, you have to be to survive on your own. On the other hand she's got some pretty big flaws. She's too self critical and has low self esteem in the sense that she looks for approval from others to validate her sense of self worth.

Miya has the quirky ability to remember names dates and places, but only as they pertain to artwork. She can see in her mind the picture and relative details, but can't pull the same trick for things like history. She's really bad with remembering things like putting the laundry in the dryer, taking dinner out of the oven and appointments. Her blackberry is like a pet to her and always near her. She also gets lost ~very ~ easily with a similiar mistalent for the reading of maps. Thank goodness for gps...

Miya is very intelligent. Not brilliant, but above average. She speaks three languages - english, italian and classical latin. She has an ability to focus and tune out the world. She has published a minor article in an art journal recently.

Quirks and Habits worthy of mention - Her blackberry and her macbook are her treasured companions and she speaks of them as if they were real. They are even named - the blackberry is Adeona (adi) the italian goddess of journeys. and her macbook is Saraswati (ti) , the hindu goddess of knowledge and creative arts.

Personal History 3rd person

Miya was born in the wonderful city of Washington DC. She studied at the Corcoran School of Art and Design. She was an orphan and spent her younger life in and out of the foster care system, never settling in with a family. She was a dreamer, her head in the stars, as one disgusted foster parent claimed when Miya's forgetfulness of dinner ended up in a kitchen fire. This made her have a low feeling of self worth. While studying at the Corcoran, Miya had a fling with a very handsome gentleman professor. She never noticed that she felt tired after her late evenings with him, or that she only saw him at night. He had made comments to her that she was a good girl for being so submissive. He was displeased yet understanding that the bright hot lights of DC were a little too much for someone as sensitive as Miya is. In Nachton she has found the home she never had in fulfilling work.
