Pokecake anyone?

My boyfriends son's 9th birthday party was yesterday and he wanted a pokemon theme.

Pokeball cupcakes (pain in the ass)

My boyfriend likes to steal my thunder cuz he made the ears and neck piece at work for me. Still was my idea/design lol! Anyways i think he used illustrator over the image and enlarged it to my dementions.

The 9yr old loved it, the 6 yr old told me it took too long and that her mom just buys cakes (which i told her mine were sweeter) and my 2 yr old got on his stool and swiped his hand across the bottom de-mouthing Vaporeon. atfer 1.5 hours of frosting and decorating i was losing patience (ie the pokeballs started lacking) but everything tasted awesome! I'm pretty excited with the results!

Thanks!

lol that is the best when they think its all awesome!

you could tell he was excited for his friends to see his 'different' cake. They each had to have a pokeball and cake.

This past summer my son had his 2nd birthday and it was jungle themed. This was his cupcake tree with monkeys.

what i learned from this adventure was never ice cupcakes put them in the fridge and then try to set them up again the next day. even with the central air on it still was 20 degree difference and the frosting started to slide off the treecakes. it was the fastest happy birthday song ever.
