Description (if an NPC) or name of your creator/gifter(if a PC) ( Please be as specific as possible, who your creator/gifter was, why he chose to change you, where is he/she now?): Subira Atieno, an Anantya ancient who has been in the Clan since before it was ever recognized as a Clan. Amir was chosen for looks, companionship, and because Subira, like most of her line, concerned herself with creating strong warriors and able fighters to defend their kind in times of war. During the era of the weres, she was responsible for using Command on them to drive them away, and has since continued working to keep them at bay across the sea. She leads the Anatya sect in Africa.

Personal Questions

1. Describe your character's personality: Amir's personality fluctuates between the person Subira turned him into and the person he really is. He can be kind and thoughtful to those he sees as being on equal terms. He can be sympathetic to those he considers misguided. he can be downright rude to those he considers unworthy, or, in some cases, deadly. Which version of Amir comes out depends largely upon the situation one meets him in. Toward humans, he can blend in and will do so when it is necessary but he gives them no regard. He will converse and act completely normal, but the observant human will notice that he seems to merely be going through the motions. As a hunter, Amir is completely ruthless. He cares nothing for his victims and leaves them dead as often as alive. Humans are food - nothing more. Amir used to have complete control over his hunting habits but since his release from Subira's Command has had some trouble restraining himself.

2. Describe how your character would appear to a stranger (I.E. typical dress, way they carry themselves etc.) Amir seems, at first glance, like any other normal teenager. He is quiet in large crowds, unassuming, and has an air of innocence about him cultivated over many years. He is remarkably attractive, even pretty, but he doesn't come off as feminine although it wouldn't be a stretch. If one were to look closer, however, they might catch occasional flashes of disdain, as if the people about him are beneath him. On occasion, when roused, his face will twist and suddenly look - for a moment - hideous. His control his usually quite good though, and this sudden fierceness is rarely glimpsed. Normally, he wears whatever is trendy for youths his age.

3.What does your character like? Open spaces, freedom. Darkness (night time). He likes the sky and he enjoys the sea but since the advent of flight has taken advantage of technology by obtaining his pilot's license with aviation ratings in commercial jets, private jets, and helicopters. Amir enjoys being active; working out, staying sharp.


4. Dislike? Humans, werewolves, a large number of vampires. Being bound, held, restrained, imprisoned. He does not like to eat, drink, smoke, or do drugs and doesn't like being around those who do. He no longer likes using Command.

5. (For humans) Describe what abilities you see your character having if they were turned. n/a

6. What are your fears? (please choose and explain 3 minimum) Amir is afraid of being buried alive and also of drowning. Both conditions mean a slow and painful death cut off from any source of food in complete solitude, knowing exactly what is happening. If he had to choose, Amir would far rather expose himself to flames and sunight than die by drowning or burying. Amir also fears dilution of vampire bloodlines through irresponsible turning. As a very conservative Anantya, he feels that they are the only true pure 'breed' of Vampire and only those born of the Triad, or of older Anantya, should exist.

**Edit: Since breaking free of Subira, Amir's fear of dilution has relaxed significantly. While he continues to be somewhat selective and slightly opinionated on the topic, this fear has been replaced by a far greater fear of being Commanded again.

7. What is your character's strengths and weaknesses? (please pick 3 minimum of each and explain in detail how and why this affects your character)

-Innocence; Amir employs his youthful looks to their fullest advantage and manages to come off as a shy, good-natured teenager when he's applying himself.
-Resourcefulness; Amir has lived through very trying times and has always managed to fend for himself. Many have tried to take advantage of him, and through sheer cunning or strength or both he always comes out on top.
-Deceitfulness; Amir has no problems lying to get what he needs. He plays a wonderful double, even triple agent, and has an excellent memory for who has been told what details. He can keep many balls in the air and take on several different personae.

-Alienation; Amir has managed to alienate a good number of his own Clanmates. He believes that only those of certain "pure" bloodlines should exist, and will snub anyone he sees as unworthy.
-Impulsive; While Amir is capable of long-term planning, his bad temper (see flaws) sometimes causes him to throw caution to the wind and act rashly. He can be something of a loose cannon when acting on his own.
-Narrow-minded; Amir refuses to see other peoples' opinions unless they are forced upon him brutally. He still sees humans as nothing but food; he sees many of his Clanmates as impure, and once he has that impression, he puts the blinders on and can be very difficult to convince otherwise.
-Inconsistent; Amir has spent centuries knowing exactly what he needs to do when and how to do it. Now that he is no longer Subira's tool, however, his lack of identity has made him question his own actions far more than he normally might. If he cannot manage to regain his self-assurance in the field, he will become a liability.

**Edit: Since breaking free of Subira, Amir has become far less narrow-minded as he figures out how to have an opinion of his own again. He can still have tunnel-vision on many topics but no longer views the world in terms of strictly black and white. While he has still alienated many Clanmates through his past actions, this continues to be a weakness until he can can work on his public image. :P However, his narrow-minded weakness is now taking a back seat to the new weakness: Inconsistent (see above)

**As of summer 2011 Amir has lost the Bad Temper flaw, which was a result of being dominated by Subira. It has been replaced by Afraid of: Imprisonment. Recent ordeals have preyed on Amir's existing fears and even though he walked voluntarily into incarceration it still left its mark. Amir has a true fear of being trapped, bound, restrained, or enclosed, unable to feed himself, escape, or call for help.

Hobbies & Skills (for more information, read here): Many martial skills; Amir can handle bows of different kinds whether on foot or on horseback, swords and daggers, pikes, javelins, clubs, maces... anything that can be used to maim or injure. He is an accomplished fist-fighter in a number of forms learned throughout his travels in Asia and India (list is expansive; safe to assume if it's out there, he knows it). In modern times he has learned to use firearms with equal precision, although he prefers to kill up close, with blades. Amir is highly intelligent; he can read and write in many languages including Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Arabic (sanskrit, coptic, various outdated forms), Thai, Vietnamese, and even Russian. In the modern era he managed to pick up a working knowledge of French, Spanish, and a little Italian and German; enough to be conversant. He has lived in both ancient Egypt and China and received a very well-rounded education in mathematics, physics, engineering, chemistry, architecture, and related fields.

Amir did a good deal of traveling by boat as a trader, and is still very well able to navigate by the stars. He enjoys skywatching and sailing, provided the boat is sufficiently large. Small boats prey on his fear of drowning and he doesn't enjoy them as much as bigger ones.

Along with his knowledge of the sky he has gained a pretty decent knowledge of astrology, because of the time and places he has lived and because he finds it amusing. He puts no store in it and considers it a hobby, but will often make observations based on astrological signs and do so with a straight face as if it's quite serious.

He is able to fly commercial jets, private planes, helicopters, and owns his own private passenger jet.

Cosmetic Traits(Distinct, character defining physical attributes. These should be minor and offer no real power other than to make your character appear more interesting.) Four chevrons tattoed (burned) on each forearm, points facing toward his hands. These are in memory of his family, killed in a border skirmish as they traveled south to Egypt. The wounds were self-inflicted, and in Himaryite tradition, Amir rubbed ashes from his family's funeral pyres into the wounds and let them heal over, thus 'carrying them with him' always.

Quirks and Habits worthy of mention - Amir does not like to feed from people who are drunk, high, or smell like cigarette smoke. He also prefers to feed from more beautiful specimens. These are personal preferences, however, and he will bend and/or break his own rules as necessary to feed his own needs (ie: excessive thirst).

Amir was born the first son of a farming couple in the Himaryite State in Yemen. For his first 14 years he followed their ways, farming myrrh for export to the Greeks and Romans, marrying young and having children of his own. However, in typical youthful fashion he longed for excitement and adventure. He sought it in the form of trade and seafaring. He learned to hunt elephants, to trade the ivory tusks for wealth. He learned how to live outside of an agricultural community. it was a difficult time for anyone in Yemen at that time though. Inter-tribal warfare made life difficult, as well as Roman conquest of Egypt, which caused their naval routes to be brought under Roman control. It was during a sea voyage that Amir met a woman, Subira Atieno, who saw in him ambition and a desire to gain power and prestige. Along with it was a loyalty to his family and his people.

Subira befriended Amir, who saw in her all the adventure and romance he had been looking for. She was exotic, beautiful, mysterious, and most of all, interested. They kept each other company during Amir's trading voyages, while he was away from his wife and family. His education with Subira ranged from the sexual to the intellectual and martial. She taught him many things that he had not expected a woman to have knowledge of.

It was Subira who offered Amir the gift of darkness, as he put it. She offered him the chance to be more than a plaything, a chance to join an elite force of defenders and warriors. The offer came about when Amir returned home to gather more goods for trade, only to find his small village burned and pillaged by a neighboring tribe. His father and mother were dead along with his two younger brothers and his wife had taken their children and fled. Consumed with anger, his familys' ashes seared into his forearms in chevron patterns, Amir sought vengeance as was his right - but no one in the neighboring villages would help. Subira was he only one who volunteered when next he saw her, and she did so in such a way that Amir could not refuse.

Newly-reborn, the horrific scabs on his arms now healed into what looked like years-old scarifications, Amir and Subira slaughtered the tribe that had pillaged his own. Vengeance appeased, Amir didn't look back. He went with Subira, forgetting from that moment on his wife and children, leaving them to their fate. Destined for far greater things, he immersed himself in vampire culture. Subira impressed upon him the nature of his lineage, continually reminding him that he was a member of an illustrious family far older than his mortal one. His task was to defend their kind, and to constantly be on the lookout for any way to increase their strength. Humans were beneath him now, no longer of much concern other than a food supply.

Amir spent his first 300 years with Subira as she had commanded him to. After that, he was on his own to learn, to grow, to develop, and to judiciously seed their line with worthy children, those of integrity, intelligence, and beauty. He traveled and learned. He developed a fondness for Egypt, where although the ancient pantheon was losing its impact, his ability to take the form of a jackal was viewed with reverence and he was seen as the embodiment of the god Anubis. Anubis' preists regularly fed him and it made an entertaining stop in his journeys, to spend several years at a time. He traveled throughout Africa, India, into Russia, and all over Asia.

His creations were, for the most part, successful. Save one, they all cleaved to him as a father and mentor, following in his footsteps and living for their Clan. When the Evenhet split off, both he and Subira reacted vehemently against it, along with a handful of other vampires, but they were outnumbered and the Clan was torn asunder. Further on, Evenhet suffered yet another split as its wayward children formed what they called Tacharan. Amir, Subira, and their sect considered them no more than useless renegades, with perhaps a handful amongst them worth saving.

Quietly they amasse power and influence. As the older Anantya were eliminated one by one, the task of controlling the weres fell more and more heavily upon Amir and Subira. Subira remained in Africa while the others took over different areas. Amir went to Asia once more.

As the weres fought vampiric influence, Amir and Subira continued to work toward what was now an all-consuming goal - reuniting the Clans to make one unified family again. They devised several plans and began to set them in motion, and those plans brought Amir back and forth from continent to continent.

He is no stranger to Nachton, and Nachton is no stranger to him.
