Red Light Green Light
Tavi glanced back over her shoulder. Yep, still back there. She was suitably impressed. Smiling, she revved the bike a little more. Most police officers would have just given up by now, after realizing that this was a game to her and that she was much better at it than most players. This guy though, he was stubborn; better yet, he was an excellent rider. He also had single minded determination to catch "the bad guy". She was fairly certain he had run at least two red lights already in his pursuit of the dangerous criminal.
Making a sharp turn down a narrow alley, Tavi dodged the dumpster and larger pieces of debris. Grinning behind her faceplate, she came out onto the one way street....going the wrong way. Tavi zig and zagged around the cars honking in surprised indignation, grateful none of them thought to swerve or slam on the breaks. You just couldn't trust drivers not to be idiots these days.
Blue lights appeared in the reflection on a nearby storefront window. Ah, there was her friend. She would have been disappointed if she had lost him so soon. Tavi turned down another street.
"Nice work. I don't think I've seen him move that fast since his training days."
He stood up, tipped his hat to the girl and gave the cat another final smile. Shaking his head at the absent policeman, he said.
"I suppose I should catch up to him before he thinks I put you up to this. He's going to be scratching for the rest of the night."
The officer laughed one last time before heading into the diner after his partner.
((OOC: Both cops out))
She was less evil to the nice officer, merely sitting back and accepting his pat before turning, flipping her tail in the air, and trotting back to her new acquaintance with satisfaction. She did her bounce one more time to let her know she was about to have a passenger again, and made the leap from ground to shoulders with no effort at all, settling herself lightly around the woman's neck once again.
"That was perfect. You were brilliant."
She waited until her companion was seated securely on her shoulders again. They seemed to be safely off the hook with the police looking elsewhere. That didn't solve the next problem.
What to do?
"Let's see about that fish."
Tavi considered the options and started walking down the street. She figured they would either find something that worked or more trouble. Either one would be entertaining
She purred happily when the woman didn't appear to have forgotten about fish. Mara didn't eat much, but she did love fish. She wasn't opposed to being offered a snack.
Oddly enough it hadn't really occurred to her to snack on her current pal. Then again, Mara usually chose to drink from people she hadn't spent the evening making mischief with. It wouldn't seem right... especially if she wanted to repeat this sort of outing.
So for the time being, she rode cat-style on her person, enjoying the shoulder-high view of Nachton.
"Look, our good deeds have gone rewarded."
She gestured to the little restaurant across the street for the benefit of her feline companion. There was no real reason to explain to the cat except that she was used to speaking to animals as though they could understand her. Most of the time the ones she hung around with could. Besides, the cat was better company than most people.
Tavi crossed the street and headed for the sushi restaurant.
((OOC: out and to the strip))
