Description (if an NPC) or name of your creator/gifter(if a PC) ( Please be as specific as possible, who your creator/gifter was, why he chose to change you, where is he/she now?): Damaris had gone out with her brothers cousins and most of the other men to fend off an raid from the English side of the boarder. The English fighters took exception to a woman on the field, some even seemed to have a personal grudge, and somewhere between a half a dozen and a dozen men made right for her. Severely out numbered she would have fallen near immediately except a guest of the family, a Graham Boyd a tall blond man of about twenty threw himself into the fray and between the two of them managed to drive off the rather unfair attack. Damaris was injured and unconscious but Graham was hurt far worse. He thought to take just a little blood to help him regenerate the worst of his wounds, but as he'd only been turned two years before he miscalculated and nearly drained her. Desperate to correct his mistake he called to his creator, who was also on the field, Dougal Mac an Fhleisdeir. Dougal, shorter and more weathered than his young protegee, was less than pleased with his off spring's mistake and rather than letting the human die opted to turn her and take them both under his wing hoping they'd be good for each other. Over the years Damaris and Graham grew quite close, very much brother and sister they almost balanced each other out. Graham, like Dougal became part of the Order of the Night and they are both currently working in Asia.

Personal Questions

1. Describe your character's personality: She is a fighter and a bit of a rebel. She doesn't appreciate being told no and does tend to go her own way. She is used to being in charge and has no problems being a leader. She tends to be very straight forward and is very devoted once she's given her loyalty. She has a stubborn streak and doesn't give up easily. That said though, she also can be rather charming, has a lively sense of humor, although not prone to pranks, she enjoys people watching and observational humor, she also can be a bit bookish and has made quite a study on any number of subjects from herbal medicine to military tactics to astronomy. While not shy she is not a social butterfly and doesn't waste her time on people or things that don't interest her or have no value or interest to her.

2. Describe how your character would appear to a stranger (I.E. typical dress, way they carry themselves etc.) Clean, practical, efficient, appropriate. Damaris isn't terribly fussy about what she wears so long as it is easy to move in and suitable to the situation. She doesn't often wear high heels though, she doesn't like the way they throw her balance off. And she doesn't much like wool, apparently she had more than enough of that growing up. It makes fine blankets but she doesn't wear it unless it is exceptionally soft. She keeps accessories and 'froo froo' details to a minimum much preferring good fabrics and subtle accents and detailing.

3.What does your character like? Chocolate, tea, wind up toys (they make her laugh), physical activity, reading, hiking, old movies, fires (camping or in a fire place not forest or house fires etc.), the ocean, fishing, bonsai trees

4. Dislike? Messes, carelessness, people who check text messages while talking to you, traffic jams, infomercials that pretend to be an actual show, the smell of burnt popcorn, cotton candy, airport security, the inability to carry a sword on board an aircraft, wine

5. (For humans) Describe what abilities you see your character having if they were turned. N/A

6. What are your fears?

Failure - Damaris takes her work very seriously and has a very strong sense of duty, loyalty and honor and to be intrusted with an assignment and not see it through is something she cannot even conceive of it would be inexcusably careless, humiliate her and possibly endanger others in the clan

Rats - she was seven or eight and sent to a store room for some beans or oat, she doesn't remember, the door closed behind her and jammed that in itself did not frighten her some one would eventually come looking for her. The store room had, however, been infested with rats, more than she could count they were rather aggressive and quite bold and had no issues at all viewing her as food. All she could do was climb one of the bins and scream while trying to keep the rats off her. Still it took several minutes for any one to hear or find her and she was bitten a number of times before being rescued. It took weeks for the bites to heal, one or two became badly infected further complicating the matter. She lived but the fear remains.

Being drunk or otherwise intoxicated and out of control - she does drink, not much but occasionally, she almost never drinks wine. Not long after she was turned, Graham was not much older, Dougal took them to France. He ran into some old friends, there was wine involved, after some time the two younger vampires politely excused themselves but near sun rise neither Damaris or Graham knew where Dougal was. The sun was rising quickly and they engaged in a rather frantic search finding Dougal drunk and dead to the world with the sun starting to spill through the window as he sat there and smoldered a bit. They quickly pulled him from the sun and to safety, but not before one or two early risers at the inn had seen what had happened. As the sun began to set they could hear the buzz of angry voices and soon enough smelled smoke as the town's folks had set fire to the inn. The three of them were only just able to escape. To this day Damaris is extremely cautious about not losing control to drink or any other intoxicant.

7. What is your character's strengths and weaknesses?

Improvisation - she'd much rather plan and be prepared and have her choice of battle ground but as the saying goes no plan survives the first encounter with the enemy. Damaris is extremely good at knowing what her resources are and how to best use them to come up with an alternate plan on the fly

Open minded - good information and ideas come from unlikely sources, children, humans, even Evenhet on occasion she would rather hear all ideas and dismiss them on merit than who had them she is willing to try new things and even things that sound slightly mad straight off the bat.

Exceptionally observant - she is a watcher in the extreme, people and situation, she is very careful to take in and remember details. Knowing if someone is right or left handed makes a great deal of difference if you suddenly deem them a threat or have to physically engage them.

Needs to be needed - whether it be a hobby or work for the hunt or when with a friend or lover she needs something to do. You might be able to get her to take a week or two off from work but she will just throw herself into another project. If after those few weeks if she doesn't have a job she will start looking for one and gets to be a damned nuisance. If you don't want her to do the dishes after dinner you'd better have them wash dried and put away in five minutes or she will be there helping.

Needs to know there are people around - it doesn't need to be many people, it can be just one but she has to know someone else is around. She has always had a brother or brother figure or mentor of some sort around. She can be happy alone in her rooms in the Manor but she'd rather relax in one of the common areas or would probably leave her door open or at least unlocked. Doesn't need to interact with the people just seeing or hearing them around is enough for her.

Cannot swim - she did try and learn when she was alive but the water was extremely cold and she wound up extremely sick afterward and never tried again. She has tried once or twice since being turned but something has always happened that sabotaged the lesson and she has just never learned. Her working theory is that she won't drown terribly fast and she does float if she doesn't panic...

Personal History Damaris was born the oldest of three and only daughter of a laird. How he, as an Englishman became the head of a clan is a long story in itself. He passionately loved her mother and gave up his country to be with her. When her older brother died without and heir he became the laird. Her mother died giving birth to her youngest brother, Glen, and her father never remarried but took his responsibilities to his adopted family and clan very seriously. As the children were only barley a year apart from each other in age they very quickly became very close. Damaris refused to leave her brothers' sides for more than a few hours and her father had no idea what to do with a girl. So despite the protest of her maternal aunts Damaris was trained the same as her brothers and male cousins. Her father continually pointed out there was no guarantee that his boys would be a suitable heir and if both of them should die there was no reason Damaris shouldn't lead the clan.

As they grew up Damaris saw no reason she couldn't be her father's first choice to inherit. There were more than a few arguments about marrying and producing children. She figured she had time and refused to marry just for the sake of it. Besides which she had become infatuated with a young Englishman who lived on just the other side of the border. It was something of a dilemma, for while the clan had accepted one Englishman there was doubt they would accept another.

Damaris had finally decided that her duty to her family and clan was more important than her feelings for one man and had broken the relationship off. Not long after this a number of English launched a night raid on her family's land hoping to catch the Scots off guard. Damaris went with her brothers cousins and a number of other men to drive them back. During the course of the battle Damaris was singled out. She was used to encountering some prejudice as a woman on the field but this seemed personal. She was singled out and badly out numbered. As she fell from her horse and two of her assailants moved in for the kill she thought she saw her lover's face, although to this day she isn't sure. What happened after that is mostly a blur she remembers coming to in a strange dark cottage and two men, friends of her father's who had been guests in their home, explaining to her that she was now a vampire.

The idea took some getting used to. Fortunately, the younger of the two, Graham, had only been turned a year or two before and was still new to the idea himself. Damaris quickly adopted him as a substitute for the brothers and cousins her 'death' had forced her to abandon. Dougal kept both of the young vampires with him for better than a hundred years, introducing them to their clan, teaching them, and introducing them to the orders. It was very natural for Graham to follow Dougal into the Night, but Damaris solved problems in a more direct less discrete way one too many times. Dougal rather determinedly directed her to the Hunt.

At that point Damaris left her new brother and her creator and followed several new mentors learning all she could and in general throwing herself into whatever assignment or work was given her and always learning new techniques and skills as she found them. Part of her work seemed to be getting Graham out of trouble. While a good Nights man he did wind up in need of direct solutions more than once and Damaris was happy to assist. They often worked together as a team which she always enjoyed. Graham tends to call her The Enforcer in these instances, which is always amusing as he is more than six feet tall and outweighs her by at least a few pounds, he is not a small man.

In the 1800s she had been given the assignment of bringing a rouge vampire in for questioning and possible execution. Tracking him took her to the American west. Having completed her assignment she found that she quite enjoyed the area, it was exciting, rough and wild. She took various jobs and remained in the territories for several years. Tombstone was a favorite place and where she found her most recent offspring. She knew it was a bit of a risk as he had lost a leg, but he had potential, a great deal of it and he had more spirit and determination than she'd seen in quite some time. While Ambrose did agree to become a vampire he didn't adjust as well as she would have liked. He spent a great deal of time mourning his lost leg. As fond of him as she was, they fought often especially when he refused to even consider joining the Hunt because of his missing leg. Despite all her 'lessons' and bullying he simply wouldn't see past the missing limb to what he still had to offer. They did eventually part on good terms after Damaris had taught him all she could, but she realized the rest he would have to learn on his own.

Damaris drifted back to Scotland and has been there rather happily, still getting regular correspondence from Ambrose, which has almost been cheerful in recent years, and has been working for Anatya and the Hunt there and through out Northern Europe. She would have been happy to stay there except she was recently singled out and attacked as she left her academy. Five men, probably vampires attempted to either capture or kill her, although they seemed partial to the kill idea. Damaris was happy to return the favor. Two of her attackers did get away she killed two and one lived long enough for her to question. The bastards had apparently hunted her because of her ability to command and she wasn't the only one they were watching.

As this seemed to be information the clan should be aware of, and not something one put in an email, and being more than slightly concerned for Ambrose Damaris has come to Nachton to find out what the hell was going on.
