Making a house a home
The tall blonde pursed her lips, brow furrowing as she studied the long list in her hand. She brushed back a stray strand of her wild golden mane then tapped a well manicured fingernail on the paper. As she ran down the list she made mental notes and sighed at how much was left. Lifting her head, her smokey topaz eyes slowly looked from shop to shop down the strip. When she spied the mall up ahead she smiled, white teeth with only a faint hint of fangs gleemed in sharp contrast to her softly tanned skin. Gathering up the bags she'd set down at her feet, she made her way to the chrome and glass doors, humming softly.
Amberelle paused to check her reflection. She was dressed casually tonight, wearing tight, super short denim cut offs that exposed a long expanse of her golden legs before the comfy pair of combat boots hid her freshly pedicured feet. A simple tight white tank top was tucked in, and stretched across her ample chest to let everyone know there was nothing else underneath it. It also showed off how toned she was, and she smiled at herself. She considered it a blessing that she'd been in such good shape when she was turned, preserved at the prime of life so to speak.
When the doors opened with a swish, a blast of the interior's cooly air conditioned air washed over her and she shivvered, she could feel goosebumps rise and her nipples crinkle in response. The typical smells of new clothes, freshly waxed floors, masses of shoppers and various smells of the foodcourt mingled into what she thought of as "that new mall scent". Had to be one of her favorites.
Time to shop till I drop.. or the sun comes up, which is more likely.
She turned and started making her way to the closest department store and it's household good floor.
Earlier tonight she'd stood in another store, eyeing a gorgeous bedroom set. The price made her eyes buldge a little but she'd really loved it. On a whim she whipped out the store card she'd gotten from her grandparents years ago and told the salesman she'd take it. 'Why not,' she reasoned with herself, 'he will know I am here already and the worst thing that could happen is it's been cancelled.' When the commission giddy salesman had returned with the receipt for her signature and paperword for arranging delivery she'd blinked once and quickly recovered, saying she'd decided to get a few more things. She'd had to contain her giggles when the man seemed to salivate and showed her around happily.
Once she was done there she'd been a whirlwind of charging, one store to the next as each card was maxed out. More than a few people had given her strange looks as she walked in between stores, chuckling like a madwoman as she dragged her numberous bags. She'd been thankful for her vampiric strength a few times tonight, especially when she's seen the sign on one of the mall kiosks for a major shoe sale at Nordstrom's. That she'd saved for last, so she could savor the shoe madness.
Finally done, she made her way towards the food court for a smoothie and to rest her smoking credit cards. A little twinge of guilt struck her, more for the shock she could imagine her brother Cavalier was going to have when he started opening these bills and had to take them to Gustav. She could see his stern expression and then how the little vein on his temple would start to bulge. She burst out giggling in the middle of ordering her peach smoothie.
With a satisfied sigh and a nod she slid the paper back into her purse, gathered up her bags and headed for the strip to make her way back to her car and the manor before the night got too late.
