A Nice Dinner... Maybe (Attn: Alex)

It was supposed to be a nice evening. Just a quiet dinner, with Alex a few of his senior designers and some of his best clients. Eiryk had reserved a private room at a very new Italian restaurant that was getting rave reviews. He was quite looking forwarded to trying everything and wanted the night to be just perfect for everyone.

He'd been involved with the décor so that was, of course, perfect. It seamlessly blended Old World Italian with modern European design with just a pinch of camp, just enough to make you smile when you noticed a subtle detail. He was quite proud of the flow too, this didn't feel like a restaurant it felt cozy and intimate. It was two of the other designers on his staff that deserved massive praise though. The acoustics were amazing, this would -never- be a noisy restaurant. Eiryk was so fascinated by that he'd been doing a great deal of reading about it and had been experimenting in their apartment. Of course, moving things around at home also meant he'd been falling flat on his face more than usual, but such was the price of learning and he'd not broken any of the furniture, only his wrist... once.

But he was looking forward to showing everything off to Alex. OK and he was also looking forward to showing Alex off, the place was more than a bit up scale so one did have to dress and he loved the look of Alex in a suit. It was just like a Christmas present and Eiryk was having a hard time not drooling or visibly licking his lips.

He also had a ring in his pocket. Eiryk still hadn't talked to Alex about getting hitched and he wasn't sure he would tonight, but as he had been for some time now, he did have the ring. Seriously, it had been easier to explain the vampire thing, it had been after Alex had accidentally tried to roast him any way. Eiryk was starting to realize when it came to Alex he had a lot of trouble -starting- important conversations.

After half falling out of the car as the valet took it Eiryk very casually walked over to Alex and straightened his partner's collar. Not because it was crooked, but because he could.

"I hear the mussels are excellent.”

He said, completely forgetting his allergy, again, that or he was possibly not talking about seafood. It was anyone's guess. They were a bit early so they could greet everyone as they came in and to ensure that the maître d' had made all the necessary arrangements. But until others joined them he got to flirt shamelessly. He'd probably flirt after their guests arrived too, but it would be a touch more discreet.

Alex stiffened for a moment when Eiryk mentioned his folks, and then realized his boyfriend meant clients and friends, not his relatives. That was fine, then. He breathed a soft sigh.

"Yeah that might be fun. Do you think Rowan would mind helping to host? You know I love the Haxa but I'm not sure she could hold both our guests... and it would be fun to have it on the sea, don't you think?"

They hadn't actually seen Rowan and Cris in a couple of weeks, but that didn't really indicate much. Both of their friends worked an almost ridiculous number of hours. Both were workaholics, potentially in different stages of acceptance about that condition. Cris, for example, seemed to accept that he sort of -was- his job. Rowan, on the other hand, insisted he wasn't. In reality Alexander suspected Rowan simply had a very hard time saying 'no' to anyone in need.

Alex laughed along with Eiryk when the topic turned to Alex's mealtime indiscretion. He blushed, bent low again, and let his lips nip at Eiryk's earlobe gently.

"How about, just horny?" he said with a smile.

"That is a good idea we can have a chat with Rue. He and Christian might like to come at any rate.”

Eiryk had yet to find a party that Rowan couldn't improve and Alex was quite right his old friend had a... well at the risk of quoting Jaws, he had a bigger boat.

"Do you think we should get a bigger boat. I hate to seem inadequate in comparison you know.”

Alex's little nip sent a shiver down Eiryk's spine. Really, that should be illegal. They had been together long enough that Alex shouldn't be able to do that to him so easily. Eiryk held stock still and tried to hide how much that little gesture had gotten to him.

He swallowed, but his voice cracked just a little.

"I... er... I think we can do something about that. Where is that car? Seriously....”

At this rate he'd take Alex in the elevator, MARI be damned.

Alex nodded; he would love to invite Cris and Rowan to come to this party they were apparently having. When Eiryk suggested an upgrade thought Alex shrugged.

"I'm not going to tell you how to spend your money," he said softly, "but I like your current boat. I might have one or two fond memories of it."

Besides... not that the was about to help himself to anything of Rowan's, but he didn't think their friend would have an issue with it if they asked him to help host a party here and there for a larger crowd. Rowan seemed to thrive on that sort of thing. How many enormous boats did Nachon's harbor need anyway?

Eiryk's response to Alex's flirting had him laughing softly. He looked in the direction of the valet and grinned.
"There you go," he said as Eiryk's car came around the turn. "You're saved."

He squeezed his arm tight around Eiryk's shoulders.
"Think you can drive wile I'm distracting you, though?"

He straightened as the valet came around and handed Eiryk the keys, raising his eyebrows mischievously at his boyfriend. Then he slipped into the passenger seat, grinned, and patted the driver's seat invitingly. He would never do anything to torment Eiryk while he was driving, but he could threaten playfully, couldn't he?

That did make Eiryk smile. Maybe he wouldn't upgrade after all, at the very least he wouldn't replace the boat. After all he had taught Alex to sale on her, Alex had saved him from some diabolical shellfish and a few other things. Maybe he'd take them out for a weekend now and make a few more memories.

"Saved is not quite the word I would use.”

It wasn't wrong though. Either way Eiryk tipped the valet, probably more than he should have but he wasn't exactly paying attention.

He couldn't help but grin at Alex as he continued to tease him. Really he didn't know if he could drive if his boyfriend kept this up and he wouldn't risk making a mistake while driving. Maybe they should just stop at the Piazza, he just wouldn't tell Alex.

Sliding into the car he leaned over and kissed Alex.

"Do you have any idea how much trouble you are?”

He teased right back He was the one who was generally in trouble, Alex was the one who usually fixed it. That is just the way it was.

Alex laughed softly at Eiryk. "Okay maybe not saved. You could be in for a tough ride home."

They hopped into the car but the teasing didn't stop. In spite of the very nearly disastrous end to the evening, they were both in a good mood. It was tough not to be, when they were together.

"I'm worth it though, right?" He asked.

Then, as they rolled slowly away from the restaurant, Alex leaned over in his seat, placed his hand on Eiryk's thigh, and slid it slowly up. He teased for a moment before moving it over to cup his partner intimately.

"Do you have any idea how much more trouble I can be, babe?"
Eiryk 12 years ago
He didn't know exactly how serious Alex was, and while the idea of him tormenting him while driving was a bit out of character for his partner, a lot of tonight had been out of character. More to the point though, Eiryk didn't put much of anything past Alex. He could be in for a long ride home. The idea made him grin, a soft lopsided grin.

"You are evil aren't you?”

He had to adjust the driver's seat, the valet had been a munchkin, but looked up at his partner.

"Totally worth every little bit of it and more.”

Eiryk inhaled sharply as Alex continued his aggressive teasing. He was profoundly glad he didn't drive a standard transmission, he was sure the stick shift would be a problem and wouldn't have nearly as much fun.

"I'm getting an idea and I'm trying to decide if I've been very good or very bad to deserve this.”

He wasn't sure he'd be able to walk through the lobby in the towers at this rate, he thought as he carefully got them on the road. Maybe they could still crash at Alex's old place tonight. Currently Eiryk couldn't remember if Alex had leased that space out or not but he was also having trouble remembering things like his mother's name and occasionally to breath.

Alexander laughed at Eiryk. "I'm not evil," he said. "You just bring out the naughty in me I guess."

As they teased each other, Alex felt his heart warm like it always did when Eiryk was around. It just always happened. Love, or friendship, or whatever it was they shared, since they shared everything. Alex was just happy.

"Maybe you're good and bad," he suggested.

Contrary to his threats Alex left Eiryk alone to drive them safely home. However, that didn't stop him from groping his boyfriend outrageously once they pulled into their spot in Liefde's parking garage. They almost didn't make it out of the car and into the Towers but good sense and practicality had them dashing for the stairwell, which was likely less populated then the elevator.

Once they got through the doorway, all bets were off though... as was most of the clothing. And it was good.
