The Sun Was Shining On That Day... (attn: Tavi)
It was a beautiful spring day out. So perfect it was almost cliché. A bright blue sky punctuated by billowy cotton ball cloud that drifted lazily over head as if there were in no great hurry to get where they were going. Guillaume found the attitude of the clouds rather infectious. He'd like to be flying with the clouds but, for now, was happy enough to just watch.
Rather unfortunately, however, this little bought of spring fever conflicted rather dramatically with a dead line for his classes. He had two major papers due in the next week and his thesis was due in the middle of May. But Navid just couldn't seem to keep his mind on anything. He'd left Terminus in favor of the library hoping the more studious atmosphere would be a cure. It had worked, for about five minutes, before he found himself staring out the windows mind wandering again. Snapping back to reality Guillaume made several more attempts to wrestle with this disease before giving up, perhaps if he were out in the sunshine it would help.
So he packed up and found his way to a little café on the strip. It rather reminded him of some of the nicer sidewalk cafés in France and made him think of his cousin. He was still rather worried about her and unofficially keeping an eye on things. He had faith in the legion and the Alpha, but she was family and he wouldn't just ignore things. Of course, even those thoughts were currently no match for the mellow sun on his face and the rather soothing drone of Nachton on a Saturday afternoon. The whole city seemed to be aware it was a weekend and responded accordingly.
Although, he had set up his laptop and had worked at one of his papers for a half an hour or so, perhaps more, Navid had finally succumb to the day; while his laptop was still set up under the pretense of accomplishing something, or in case inspiration should suddenly strike, he sat, relaxed, eyes half closed with a touch of a half smile playing on his face simply enjoying the sunshine and the gentle warmth of the day.
She was happy that Guillaume went along with her on the research idea. He appeared very serious and interested in it so she could not tell if he was really planning on using the research or if he was doing an exceptional job of playing along.
And looking over at Leo, the man had the expression of one who had been caught and sentenced to hard labor. She almost felt sorry for him....nah. He had his moment of triumph and thought he was going to sweet talk his way out of owing anyone for it. Nice try, Leo, but not this time.
In his defense, the blond did listen intently to what Guillaume said and nodded his head about getting back to him with more details. "You can find me at the Pines but Tavi has my number if you want to get it from her.†He looked from Guillaume to her. "Sorry about the thieving and then running but I've got to go back to the guys or they might think something odd is going on or start looking for me.†Leo nodded his head to Tavi and then turned to Guillaume. "Sorry again about the chase. I'll make it up to you.†He waved at them both and then ran back to the corner, checking both ways before stepping out of the alley.
"Well, that was fun.†Tavi smiled at Guillaume and then hooked her arm through his. "Now what?â€
He didn't so much crack a smile at Leo's expression. While he knew that he couldn't possibly use any information that the man might bring him but it was terribly tempting. Later he might consider how he could do something similar himself. Although, that would probably have to wait for his PhD, if he did that. He was more impressed with Tavi's twisted form of justice than any thing.
"Wonderful. Thank you, I'll be in touch.†Even though he'd met the alpha Guillaume still didn't feel quite welcome at Shady Pines and spent limited time there. "Of course, we understand good luck.â€
Well that had been an interesting and unexpected twist to his day. It would be difficult to recapture the lazy spring mood that he had been enjoying before Tavi showed up. That wasn't entirely bad. He might have missed one blink she she took his arm. He took it as if it was the most natural thing in the world thought, and enjoyed it.
"Do you always make the day so interesting?â€
He said with a flirtatious smile as he mulled over her question of what next.
"Hmmmm well first I think I do still have a tab at the cafe and I know I left my books there.... after that. We have seen snatch and grab, perhaps we should try breaking and entering?â€
Guillaume casually lead them back toward the little cafe. While not quite as important as his laptop he did need the books.
Shaking her head, she shrugged and corrected Guillaume's assumption. "No need to pay the tab. I did that for both of us before I left. I figured we didn't want a waitress chasing us down while we were already in the middle of a chase. Too many people and it becomes terribly confusing." He did have to get his books. Tavi frowned slightly and then smiled. "Well, I hope Leo got back and he and his new friends moved on because it would be odd to see you come back with the laptop that he supposedly stole."
Guillaume suggested breaking and entering after their experience; Tavi feigned shock. "You'd say such things to a former officer of the law? I'm...impressed." She smiled. "Breaking and entering can be quite entertaining under the right circumstances. I wish we had someone worth our time to sneak in on."
"How about this? We can hide your laptop in the satchel on my bike long enough to gather your other things and then decide where we might want to enter and what we want to break."
((OOC: Feel free to close it after the accepting or declining of her plan. ))
"Thank you very much for that. I'd be happy to treat you later if you'd like."
And he would too. Perhaps a lovely five star where they could shock the establishment, or he'd found one or to other places that had potential.
Ah, yes. She was quite right they didn't want to undo all the 'good' Leo had done.
While he had no doubt that she had been a cop, it was rather hard to remember that and he chuckled at her compliment.
"I think that is a plan with potential."
And it was exactly what they did.
