Personal Questions

1. Describe your character's personality: Joshua seems severe and straight laced to those who don't know him. He has plans for everything, and backup plans for those plans. He likes organization and likes to be in control of his environment. He doesn't smile much, and seems to have no sense of humor. However, to those who do know him he is warm, caring, and sincere. He isn't always the one to make a snappy one-liner, or a witty comeback, but he does enjoy a good laugh and he likes good company.
2. Describe how your character would appear to a stranger (I.E. typical dress, way they carry themselves etc.) Joshua is always well dressed. Even when in casual clothes he somehow manages to make them look formal. When working, he wears a suit. When not working, he might wear khakis or jeans with a form-fitting tee. He has a great respect for culture though, and will wear whatever is necessary to fit in wherever he is. He carries himself well, never slouches, always seems alert and energetic.
3.What does your character like? Order, organization, control. Classical music. Cooking. Exercising. Kids, although it doesn't show. Folding laundry. Museums, the history channel and discovery channel, antique stores. Comic books. Ironing.
4. Dislike? Guns. Ignorance, brutality. Rap and country music. Outrageousness, people who can't control themselves in public. Doing dishes. Classic literature.

6. What are your fears?

-Joshua is afraid of guns. His father was shot by a silver bullet, and since then he has had a healthy respect for firearms. He has not learned to shoot. He knows he should, but gripping a gun gives him panic attacks.

-Joshua fears something might happen to take his family from him through his own failure. That is why he needs to be seen as in control, unreproachable, professional at all times.

-Joshua is also afraid of robots. He simply doesn't like them... man was not meant to create someone else to do things for him. Robots walk the line too closely between life and non-life.
**We're not talking computers and toasters, here... we're talking about robotics made specifically to resemble and mimic humans and human behaviors. Josh thinks Terminator is a horror film.

7. What is your character's strengths and weaknesses?

Discipline: Joshua has put a lot of his own desires to the side in order to provide for his family. He knows how to keep focused and do what needs to be done.

Confidence: Joshua does what he wants to do, because he wants to do it. He doesn't think other peoples' opinions should keep him from doing what he wants.

Loyalty: Joshua is an unquestionable friend and ally. Once devoted to a course he will not be swayed from it.

Family: Joshua would do anything for his mother and sisters. They are his weak spot; if anyone wanted to get to him they could easily do so through his family.

Image: Josh can get too caught up in how he thinks the world perceives him. In his desire to be seen as perfectly as possible he often forgets one of his own fundamental beliefs - that you should be yourself because you want to.

Letting Go: Joshua can be so serious about his job that very often he forgets to have fun. He's very serious about being seen as moral, upstanding, a good person, and sometimes he can work himself into an anxious knot. His friends and family sometimes have to remind him or force him to have some fun now and then.

Cosmetic Traits(Distinct, character defining physical attributes. These should be minor and offer no real power other than to make your character appear more interesting.) Joshua can seem very colorless, between his skin, hair, and eyes he's very neutral-shaded. The blue in his eyes is only apparent very close up under certain circumstances.

Quirks and Habits worthy of mention - Joshua's carriage and poise make it seem like he's ready for a formal event no matter what he's wearing.

Joshua also irons everything. Dress shirts, sure, but slacks, sweatpants, tee shirts, and boxers. All ironed.

Joshua Wesson had a fairly happy childhood. He was the oldest of 5 children, the only boy. His mother stayed at home with them and his father was a member of the Liechtenstein Alpha's Pipers, the unit dedicated to keeping their Alpha safe.

He was intelligent and enjoyed learning, and always did well in school. He looked forward to being Gifted and being part of his Pack when he grew up. What he wanted to be most of all, though, was a pianist. He took piano lessons after school and loved it.

His life took a different turn when his father was killed in the line of duty when he was eight. His mother took it hard, having several breakdowns, leaving Joshua to care for his younger sisters while she went through her depression. It lasted several years, during which time Joshua had to grow up very quickly.

It was expected that he would take his father's place among the Pipers, and previously he would have said that was fine with him. Things changed though. His mother was still unstable, and his little sisters needed him. His mother needed him too. Joshua refused his own Gifting, choosing to remain Illamar. Aidan Xephier's new laws made that possible even though his own Alpha would have preferred to Gift him. Josh couldn't be Gifted without consenting to it, and he still retained all of his rights as a full Aktok.

Piano lessons were the furthest thing from his mind. As he grew, Joshua focused his efforts on school. He got a two year degree in Business and followed it with a Bachelor's in Political Science. After graduation Joshua went to work for the Pack, as a liaison. He helped people join the Pack, helped ease the way for those who hadn't been born to it, who didn't understand what they had become. Eventually, after fifteen years of this work, he and his partner were called to Nachton to head up the Alpha's team of inter-Pack diplomats.
