Evgeni's Loft Apartment
This apartment is built on a studio type living space with some wall partitions built into it. It is in an older brick building that has been renovated into something new. The complex boasts a common lobby, a computer room, a gym, a media center and several meeting rooms. There is full time security and staff. It is in the heart of downtown Nachton and near his work.
LIVING ROOM/KITCHEN
The doors open to the large living room and kitchen area.
The outer walls are bare red brick. The inner downstairs walls are a warm beige. The floors are an aged dark oak. Large windows are along the far right side going almost from floor to ceiling. They are surrounded by heavy drapes of red and gold tapestry. A wrought iron spiral staircase winds up to the loft on the left hand side.
The living room is sectioned off with a large area rug with intricate details in red, beige, gold and black. There is a sofa and love seat of supple brown leather, filled with accent pillows and several comfortable quilts thrown over the back. (Most of the time the pillows get tossed to the love seat and occasionally the quilts and pillows are shaped in an Evgeni sized nest on the main sofa) The two pieces form an upside down L shape with the sofa facing the door. The coffee table is a large wooden chest that appears very old. Hand carved woodland scenes grace the body of it, the recesses darkened to almost black with age and repeated waxing, cleaning and care. Several groupings of pillar candles fill bronze platters on both sides of the top. The center has a large intricate music box in black ceramic the sides and top have pastoral scenes edged in gold. It plays part of Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky when opened. The side tables of have lamps and pictures and an odd knickknack (usually a model of some kind) here and there. The large screen television is on the same wall as the door.
The kitchen area has all the utilities along one row. Stove, sink with an olive green marble with beige veining, dishwasher and refrigerator. The appliances are almond coloured. A large two door pantry is on the left hand wall. Open work cupboards line the wall above the appliances providing storage space. Engraved silver dishes are displayed in the spaces offset here and there with a potted plant. Opening the refrigerator would show that it is practically empty. The whole area looks pristine and unused. There is a rectangular table that is longer than it is wide behind the sofa which serves as a kitchen/dining room table. The base is walnut and the top is the same green marble as the kitchen counter. There are two drawers along the sides. Four chairs surround it, two on the ends and two along the kitchen facing side, made of walnut, sturdy but simple. (There is usually an unfinished puzzle or model in progress on the table.)
A music stand sits near the back window so that the person standing or sitting in front of it could look out over the city while they played. In between the windows is a closed cabinet containing shelves with sheet music. Next to it is a stereo system and on the other side of that is another cabinet containing a digital music collection.
On the front wall along with the television there is row upon row of shelving. The outer shelves hold books and other treasures. The ones closer to the tv hold dvd's. Looking at the collection would show that the person in the house loves crime solving shows.
BATHROOM
The bathroom is long and narrow. The walls here are a spring leaf green (The portion that would be brick here is covered by the bathtub tiling) and the floors are mosaic stone tiles in cream, white and beige. The toilet and sink are both very modern and minimal in design, almond in colour. The counter top is a floating shelf of brown marble with no cabinets beneath to give the small area more space. It has handles on the sides to hang towels. There is a large mirror over the counter with two sketches of nicely done nudes framed on either side of it, a woman on the left and a man on the right framed in black and floated in glass so that the edges of the paper can be seen. A cream ceramic vase holds several stalks of tall twisty bamboo.
The far end wall of the bathroom is entirely consumed by the tub. The same tiles line a step in tub and shower that is enclosed with glass. A ledge large enough to be a seat is situated on one end. It is obvious that the shower is rarely used in favor of the bath because candles of various shapes and sizes line the ledge and they would likely be misted with water if the shower were turned on.
BEDROOM
The spiral staircase leads to the loft area that is a single large bedroom. There are no windows in the brick portion of this room. The dark wood floor is covered around the bed with a large tapestry rug in beige, white, cream and gold. The furniture is large heavy walnut. The main lighting is a wrought iron chandelier with electric bulbs shaped to mimic candles and is on a dimmer switch. The large tall queen sized bed has four heavy column posts draped in gold fabric and a cream sheer material. Plush white linens cover the bed accented with pillows in white, and a few in sage green and gold. Heavy drapes in a sage green color hang on either side of the loft railing and can be slid across the area to block off the bedroom from open space down below. A large gilded gold mirror stands leaning against the brick wall, heavy enough to take two strong humans to lift it. There is a large walk in closet along the left wall that is packed to full with clothes neatly organized by colour and occasion. An armoir in walnut holds lesser used clothing. Several model airplanes hang from the ceiling in one corner and an intricate sailing ship sits on the dresser. There is a white chair and ottoman in the far corner with a floor lamp behind it.
