Vamp powers
Savage savant - Many coming from earlier times when mankind was closer to nature and her creatures, some vampires are able to commune with animals. Able to speak with them ( they're animals don't expect philosophical conversations ) call them, eventually even relive their memories and mentally merge with them and use their senses as your own. Vampires with this discipline tend to have a special animal that they commune with. A vampire who normally communicates with a wolf might be able to understand a dog but wouldn't understand a cat. A long time familiarity with a particular animal makes it easier to use their senses becaues a trust and friendship has been built.
Glamour - Basically tricks of the mind. There are two versions
Illusions - These glamours trick the thinking of the person causing them to believe or see what you wish them to. Most vampires are only able to conscentrate on one person at a time.
Evoking - These glamours trick the emotions of the person causing them to feel a certain way.
Glamour is thought to have its origins in Gaelic lands where bards and druids were known to be able to work magic through words and song. ( possibly a very advanced form of hypnosis )
Pyschometry - This is the ability to pick up things from inanimate objects. Picking up a necklace you might be able to sense that it once belonging to a Lady in Waiting who always seemed very sad,etc...
Bonding - This is the ability to know another living being that you are in tune with them more than most others, similiar to Savage Savant but with creatures of more complexity. This could be vampire or human. You're able to sense their feelings and whims easily and while you can't always hear their thoughts you do get impressions of strong desires and fears. A person bonded to the vampire is able to call the vampire in times of danger and the vampire is able to call in return.
Tracking - This is the ability to take an object that belongs to a person and use it in order to find the owner. The object can only be used once. The intense concentration required for this ability taints the impressions from the object and causes it to be useless for future attempts.
Agility - The vampire was gifted with an uncanny grace when made. They are easily able to walk on precarious perchs such as rope, able to move from tree to tree, and land like a cat in most tumbling situations.
Dreamwalking - Vampires with this ability are able to insert themselves into the unconscious thoughts of the person and change the thoughts of the person in various ways.
Nightmares - There is something deeply disturbing about this vampire and he/she is able to invoke nightmares and sleeplessness into his victims. An intense stare from such vampires is known to cause immediate uneasiness and even irrational fear.
Luring - The vampire influences the pleasant dreams of the person with images of themselves generally causing an obsession in the dreamer. The vampire can even change the events of a dream to his whim showing the person the images he wants them to see.
In all cases of dreamwalking you have to potentially battle the will of the dreamer. Some are stronger than others.
Contortion - Unlife has changed the vampire's body to make it extremely flexable. The vampire is able to contort their bodies in ways that would astound Houdini and confound most anyone trying to bind them or contain them. Short of a nailed coffin... good luck
Voyeurism - Vampires with this ability are able to get impressions from the people near them. Desires, passing thoughts etc... The range is very close at the early stage of ability and later developes into being able to sense and process the thoughts of an entire room. With full concentration perhaps even an entire building.
Blending - This vampire has the amazing ability to go unseen. Able to walk about in silence or to go unnoticed in plain sight. It isn't that they are invisible, they just seem to get passed up.
These came from various movies and game ideas, I did not look at VtM but I do know that some are similiar anyway, its not going to be helped. I tried to keep them more reasonable with less just "its magic" needed to explain it.
Calling - aka Infernalism. What good is being supernaturally evil if you can't hang out with other things that are supernaturally evil? This doesn't necissarily have to be sprouting horns and shooting fire. The idea behind this power is that you get to do a cool thing, but for a price. The price should be something that furthers the dark powers of evil.
Far Calling - aka Cthulu-esque. You're not communicating with the forces of darkness that are nearby in hell. You're talking to the powerful alien beings that live in a remote alternate dimension / extremly deep space... who are all insane by human standards. The powers granted here should be strange, potent, bizarre, and have a terrible cost in the user's sanity.
The far calling thing with the aliens is, well, it's just too "out there". Again, it doesn't really mesh well with the world we're creating and would create some complication.
I don't mean to discourage your ideas, but I think we're going to have to pass on these. Do keep posting if you come up with anything else though. The more ideas we have, the richer our world can become.
Shadow walking - The character can enter a sufficently sized shadow and travel through a 'shadow realm' and exit any other sufficently sized shadow.
Murk - The character is able to summon a small area of inpenatrable darkness.
Flight - .....they fly
mind drain - The vampire has the ability to steal his victims memories while feeding.
just a few thoughts..
Alternate form (X) like wolf, bat, mist.
Not sure if this would be a power per se, but an alternate feeding ability, like can absorb blood through their skin (think tales of the Countess of Bathory's blood baths)or like was suggested previously I think, absorbed with eating the flesh of a victim.
Enhanced physical things like super human strength, reaction time, speed
I'll think of more later and post I am sure =)
How about something like "administer broccoli and chease enema"?
That's just wrong!
