Sunday Shopping (open)
(( Continued from Arting Around All Day ))
The cabbie stopped in front of Rachyl's apartment building, and the two women got out. As the driver started to rattle off the fare, Rachyl said, "If you wait here six minutes, we'll be right back out, and there'll be a little something extra in it for you."
Hand-in-hand, into the building they ran, then up the stairs and into Rachyl's "ratflat." She dropped off the blanket-in-a-bag, quickly freshened up, then found a pale green blouse for Meegan. "It might be a tad small, but it should fit you."
They ran down to the cab, and made it back within five minutes. "Thanks for waiting," Rachyl said. The drive went quickly.
They stepped out of the cab, and Rachyl tipped the cabbie as she had promised, with a little extra. As they walked in the searing heat towards the entrance, Rachyl commented, "You look cute in my blouse, it's a bit short but I love how it shows off your belly and navel ring. I'm sorry but it's the only color I had clean."
When Rachyl had finished they walked out of the store and went right, Meegan was window shopping when she spotted a display of Americana crafts in what looked like one of those kitchy country-style decorating stores, called Love from Texas. She took ahold of Rachyl's arm and dragged her into the store.
She wandered a bit, and found a "bolo tie" which she held up for Meegan to see, who seemed to ponder for a moment then shook her head no. She kept looking, though, and found a rather wide-brimmed, black crushed velvet-covered cowboy hat.
She placed it on her head, then tilted it forward slightly, shading her eyes, and turned back to Meegan.
"It suits you, and goes perfect with that outfit."
She looked back down at the patriotica and struggled with her laughter, and lossing.
"C'mon Tex, let's mosey on out of here."
She told the gentleman to put the buttons on her tab, too. After she paid, she took Meegan's arm and walked her back out of the store.
She knew her Texas accent needed help, so she said 'normally', "Where next?"
Rachyl knew she was rambling, but she was happy - being around Meegan tended to make her feel that way.
They wove in and out of groups of people, stopping at the occasional window to peer inside. As they walked up to Charlotte's, she made note of the Bath and Bodyworks next door. "When we're done in here, I want to go to Bath and Bodyworks. I could use some new scents."
They entered the store and Meegan's attentioned was distracted by the new shoes they had gotten in.
She tapped Meegan on her shoulder to get her attention. When her friend turned, she said with a blush, looking down for a moment, "I was kind of hoping you'd eventually help me with that."
"Let me introduce you to my good friend Jaqua."
"Pink buttercream with meadowfoam seed, huh." She twisted the cap off, squeezed a bit out of the opening, and sniffed it gently. Her nose instantly scrunched up, and she had to withhold an "ewwww." She wiggled her face as if trying to get the scent to fall out of her nose. "Uhm, it smells better on you." She leaned forward, pressing her nose into the skin just above Meegan's cleavage. "Yup, I'm right."
"Fine stick with your cucumber vanilla and lemony butterbean, I don't care."
She cleared her throat. "If they have a selection, I'd be glad to try some. You know I'm always up for something new."
Meegan grinned and picked up a pair of supple calf leather knee-high boots in a light brown, with a three inch heel. She turned them over and looked for the maker's stamp the began to read the inner label.
Meegan caught the eye of the saleswoman and asked for the boots in a 6 1/2, 7 and 7 1/2.
"One never knows with boots, so I always ask for a size too small and a size too large."
She walked over to a row of three chairs and perched. She made a hand waving gesture at Rachyl.
"Shop!"
"Sure thing I need to walk in these anyway."
She crossed the store towards the red-head and felt her feet slide around inside the boot. 'Whoops! I'm going to need the 6 1/2'
She may not have been in the mood for sex, and something inside Rachyl told her that Meegan wasn't either, but she sure was going to have fun.
