[I'm not leaving without you. So I guess I'll wait here until you get back to claim me.]
[Very well. Should I stop by Morrigan's office to explain?]
He sighed and reached up to pinch the bridge of his nose before catching the gesture and crossing his arms behind him instead. The question left much to be implied, he knew. Regardless of his desire to be upfront about their relationship, he had not been inclined to share the fact that he and Alfarinn were bonded. For reasons of safety, of course...but also because the bond was something that was just theirs, honored and private. Now, though, weighing the options, he saw the advantages of staying in communication with the parties concerned in the matter.
He found this was a judgment call he didn't want to make right now, and felt like twice the cad for putting the choice on Alfarinn.
A hint of movement caught his attention, and he turned to watch Mai approach. The slight moonlight glinted off the blade of her katana, and Thaddeus appreciated the aesthetic even as he reflected that he was glad he was on her side.
[For my part, I would not object to Morrigan knowing we are bonded, considering the circumstances.] He paused. [I will make this up to you.]
Focusing on the present once more, he looked up in time to catch Mai's assertion.
Yes, that is best.
Mai had once ridden in a limo for his sake, which was likely a larger concession on her part than entering the sewers was for him. He was well aware that she knew just how much the sewers bothered him, and appreciated that in spite of this she had given him enough credit to simply state the matter as it was and trust that he would do what was needed.
That didn't stop him from mentally wishing for his gloves at the very least, but they needed to move. He nodded his head and started down the Cathedral steps. Should Alfarinn ask, he could make a detour while cutting through the Manor on the way to the sewer entrance on the other side.
