Greek Antiquities (Search for Chryseis)(invitation only)
Mai led the way through the sewers towards the museum with the confidence of long familiarity. This was a trip she made often in search of Thaddeus and she'd have to admit that she liked the place also. It was quiet and there were interesting things to look at. Walking the silent halls late at night was as peaceful as walking through some of the old temples. It certainly seemed to bring calm to her blonde clan mate but the last time they were there had started Thaddeus on this personal journey of his and this night also boded to be anything but peaceful.
She hoped they found Chryseis alive and well, though difficult at times to become close to, Mai found she liked the woman. If she were harmed they had better find out who was responsible quickly because Nachton had not seen fury until they'd seen Morrigan's spirit unleashed in vengeance.
Carefully avoiding the few rats she sensed in the area, Mai eventually came to stand under the grate that would let them out in front of the Arch.
"Here" Her whisper was mostly for Thaddeus who had a lot on his mind. The sewers were not familiar to him either and she was sure he'd be relieved to be out of them. Climbing the ladder, she slid the cover away enough to give her a cautious look around before pushing it aside and coming out to stand on the roadside as she waited for the others.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary for her senses so far but even they could be fooled and she'd remain alert until they knew what the situation was.
"In all honesty, Officer Novak, I wish I -did- know more. Ms. Angelique is a friend of ours and we are concerned."Â?
It seemed the only way to get out of this conversation was to reveal just enough to evade suspicion, and he found he did not mind being candid with Novak. He was, after all, just doing his job, and help from any party could prove useful.
He took out his notebook and wrote down his mobile number, handing it to the guard with what he hoped was a reassuring smile.
"We are going to continue checking likely places for her. Should you find anything else, please do give me a call. I shall do the same for you."Â?
"Yeah, alright, sounds good. Listen, I gotta get back to my post, but I'll be making phone calls and stuff."Â?
He thought with vague disappointment that the romance between the Beautiful and Mysterious Witch and the Great Handsome Hero would just have to wait, though he was concerned enough that his imagination did not linger long.
He stuffed the paper in his pocket and turned away, walking briskly down the hall and passing the storeroom without a sideways glance.
Nodding to Talon, he continued down the hallway, arriving at the loading dock in short order. He thought it odd that there were apparently no guards back here, but decided it was best to count himself lucky.
"Any trace of either party back here?"
This wasn't going to be easy with so much concrete and road, turning around, she changed forms long enough to speak to her companions.
"Kuma-san, will you help search, kudasai? You can smell quite well, nee?" If they spread out they'd have a better chance of picking something up.
She resumed her stoat form and continued sniffing about for more clues.
Instantly more at ease alone and feline, he stalked about the shadows created by vents, airconditioning units and fixtures. Keeping hidden from the human snacks. He could smell the stoat, but now it was faint enough to not demand pouncing.
Vowing to settle down, he remained on the roof. He would follow them out when they left for the sewers and then take himself off. Hopefully before he became more of a burden than he already was to the mission. He worked much better alone, destroying single targets.
The wolf stood where the man was, getting his bearings he began to search through the scents looking for the unfamiliar one he had identified earlier..
he too felt the urge to chase down the stout, but fought it down and held it in check..
'I have to remeber to pounce on Thad in this form and lick his face.. I bet he'll faint' if a wolf could laugh he would have considering the visual..
Following Mai and Talon as they led their way out of the loading dock, Thaddeus turned to check the window of the office for guards; while Talon and Mai would likely not be visible, he would be noticed walking by.
He rather hoped the two people on the sofa inside were simply taking a nap, and decided not to think on irrelevant matters any longer as he stepped outside behind the two hunters turned wolf and stoat.
/ooc out and onward to the Back Alley
She turned in circles around the spot and thought some more. Perhaps, Chryseis woke up during the moving? A knock on the head wouldn't likely keep her out for long. Could the attacker have gotten her into the car? Did she struggle? There wasn't much of her clanswoman's scent around here to suggest a struggle, nor any more blood. Hardly any scent at all. She could have still been carried but what if she managed to run away some time before he got to the car? But wouldn't he have followed?
Mai admitted that the most likely scenario was that the attacker took an unconscious Chryseis without a struggle to some other place but that gave them little hope of tracing her. She decided to widen the search to the nearby streets in hopes that the other possibility was true, that Chryseis managed to escape her attacker and hid somewhere close to the museum, in who knows what state of health.
((OOC:Out! Onward ho!))
This reaction caused him to loose all interest in chasing the source of his amusement. Carefully choosing a spot in the opposite direction, to not mess up the scent. He scrutinized the area then lept down, gliding just a bit to take the ompf out of his landing.
He shifted to his human form, already missing his three foot tail. Laughter he could no longer contain burst forth. Steadying himself on a concrete barrier, he stood, still laughing.
He looked at Thaddeus amusement and apology clearly defined on his features. "I apologize for my earlier distress delaying the mission. Is this herding open to anyone to join?"
