Personal History (Please be detailed, this creates your basis for your character)

Claire was the daughter of a local noble who ruled a small coastal province in Brittany. He had always hoped for a boy but instead was "blessed" with three daughters, of which Claire was the oldest. Wishing to be closer to her father, Claire would sit for hours playing quietly on the floor in the room where he had his meetings. One night while trying to remember some details of a prior conversation he found his daughter was able to accurately give him the answers. Further conversations with his young child, proved that she was at leisure to observe other things undetected from her vantage point on the floor. He began to test her memory as a game and Claire, enjoying the attention of her father, tried very hard to play it well. Observing the people who came to her father and looking for anything that might interest him, Claire quickly became a valuable asset. As she grew older, she better understood the part she was playing and what purpose the information had for her father. She would sit silently and do needlework and other small chores while her father held important meetings. Most men did not object to her quiet presence, if they even noticed at all.
Eventually it became time for Claire to marry and her father was saddened by the prospect. He had come to regard his daughter as his best confidant, friend and advisor. Eventually it was Claire who suggested a match to a neighboring province that had tensions with their own. Reluctantly, her father agreed to the marriage as a wise choice for his land. Claire kept her habit of sitting quitely while her husband held court but she rarely chose to speak her mind to him. Instead she made frequent visits home and told her father the things she found of interest. Her husband saw her as mouse like and forgettable and did not miss her during her absences from his home.
That is until he began to covet the wealth of her father's land once more and made a deal for with another noble to take the land and split it between them. He realized as his wife prepared for another journey to her father's that she had heard some of his plans and was likely to make sense of the rest. He delayed her a day or so and plotted a way to be rid of her. He had a poisonous snake placed in her room in order to be able to claim that it was a tragedy not of his doing. Upon being bitten, Claire realized that she would probably die and that if the poison did not kill her then her husband would see to it that something else did. Leaving her sick bed quietly in the night, she mounted her favorite horse and pointed it towards home. It was fortunate that the horse knew the way because after a while she could do little more than hang on. Finally she reached her father's and told him in gasps the plans of her husband and his accomplice. She was placed in her old room and her father stayed with her every day despite his having a honored guest staying at the time.

Late the following night while her father slept, this guest came to see her. He offered her a chance to live and she took it.

Since that time, Claire has worked for her clan and traveled.

She has recently moved to Nachton.
