The Nachton Convention Center

The Nachton Convention Center is vital and busy part of the city's activities. Located downtown and within easy reach of several modes of public transportation, visitors will find the Center conveniently located and easy to get to.

The building itself is a sprawling complex featuring large windows and exposed beam work in a-frame construction harking back to meeting halls of early American history.

The main floor has a wide walkway that surrounds the building with hedge rows of lush greenery and night blooming flowers. Benches and outdoor concession stands are located at various places along the path. The entrance to the main lobby holds the information center and the famous unfinished mural called "Time marches on" which details the founding of Nachton at its beginning and continues to progress along the walls to the present with unfinished space for future historical events, this unfinished space holds paintings from local artists until the Center's committee chooses to update the mural. This main floor holds six exhibition halls of varying sizes and an added space with removable walls between the fifth and sixth rooms allowing them to be merged into one large area.

The Mezzanine is the second floor and is open along its inner edge to overlook the floor below. The Convention Center is located on a hill and so there are several street entrances that allow access straight into the Mezzanine. A smaller information booth is located on this level, as well as a walkway with benches and alcoves for chatting and waiting for shows to start. The gift shop and tourist shop are located on this level as well.

The third floor holds a large lobby that runs its length with various booths for information on the current events taking place as well as a general information booth. This floor is made up of 50 meeting rooms for use by local businesses for meetings and seminars. An outdoor terrace on this level provides a small area of greenery and benches that makes a great place to take a break from the events going on inside.

The top most level of the Convention Center is the large octagon shaped ballroom. Removable walls allow it to be converted into four smaller rooms or one large one. The light wood floor is polished to a high shine and the white linens and golden lighting give the ballroom a touch of timeless class. There are sets of double doors along three of the four long sides of the ballroom. A large food service area and kitchen allows for large catered events. There are also several VIP rooms in which hosts can retire to discuss the event with staff or hold private meetings. A large walkway wraps around on three sides for seeing and being seen outside of the ballroom's main area.

Organized and versatile the Nachton Convention Center is likely to remain a focal point for many of the city's events for years and years to come.
