Alfarinn smiled and ducked his head at the comment concerning what his companion had to work with, realizing then the flaws of having his hair pulled back. Ah well, it was better to have it out of the way in a fight, he'd just have to deal with not being able to use it to hide the blushes his companion was likely to cause.
He chuckled at the pat on the ass and then followed Thaddeus over to the bed, wrapping his arms around his lover and watching his selections from over his shoulder.
"I've already explained that you would look good in a sheet so I suppose no fashion consultant would be necessary for you."
Alfarinn looked at his lover's choices and buried his face in Thaddeus's neck a moment. He remembered the first time Thaddeus wore a collar and asked for his help putting it on. Awkward as he was then, he should really explain the connotations of the choice to his companion.
"They would actually look wonderful with what you are wearing."
He picked up the choices Thaddeus set out for him and started putting them on.
"Well, there is something I feel that should be explained... just so you don't think I am keeping it from you or.. informed is better, should someone comment.. uhm, anyway what I was saying..."
Alfarinn inwardly cringed at his own inability to just explain smoothly and calmly but right there in the fore front of his mind was the image of Thaddeus relieved to have the collar off his neck and the words of the bouncer. Thaddeus would probably think he should have explained then.
"In most circles it means nothing, in fact to a good part of the club, its probably just a fashion statement.. a cool thing to wear because others are wearing it, but to some it is a sign of ownership. Some formally give themselves to others by allowing the person they've chosen to trust with themselves to put one on them. It is generally done by a dominate and a submissive, though I've seen couples exchange collars as well. I.. just wanted you to know what it -could- mean and what some people might assume."
Alfarinn looked down and waited for Thaddeus to process the news.
Picking up a few things (invitation only)
Alfarinn stood outside of the impressive glass and steel towers and looked up with a sigh of momentary contentment. Smiling at his companion, he reached out and laced his hand in Thaddeus's. He loved this place, had seen it being built from the ground up, had watched it change with the times and now marveled at its modern exterior over its older surface. The facade was so ironically like his own, something shiny and new covering something so very old.
"So.." He grinned in amusement. "Want a quick tour?"

Thaddeus turned at the feel of Alfarinn's cheek on his neck, smiling and simply breathing in the scent of his lover before picking up the belt and working it through the loops on his pants.
"Oh, I don't pretend you need any help from me to pick out what to wear. Consider it a step toward educating me in modern style."Â?
He tilted his head to one side, looking up to meet Alfarinn's eyes with curiosity and wondering just what his companion was trying to say. He considered the explanation, once delivered, with something like mild surprise, finding himself more concerned with what might be going through Alfarinn's mind right now than the significance of the collar he now held in his hand.
"Does that make you uncomfortable?"Â?
His companion certainly -seemed- uncomfortable, though Thaddeus was not entirely sure of why. Walking out with a collar now seemed a rather intimate statement to make so publicly, though that sort of thing had never seemed to cause Alfarinn concern before. He supposed everyone had their boundaries; it just seemed unusual for him to be fairly unfazed by something that apparently bothered his companion.
Now that the question had been asked, though, he found himself wondering if he -was-bothered by this development. It certainly explained a few things, and he supposed it made an odd sort of sense; in fact, he was somewhat surprised he had not picked up on it before now and supposed he simply hadn't been thinking in the right context. In any case, if it came right down to it Thaddeus would rather be in his suit, but they were trying to blend in, and if wearing a collar worked for that so much the better. It wasn't as though the accoutrement was ultimately defining; he was still the same person and had the same relationship with Alfarinn with or without the collar.
"If it bothers you I won't wear it..."Â? He trailed off as he remembered just how the collar had been clasped around his neck the first time. For a moment, he was shocked into silence at how completely he had missed what was clearly a significant nuance to Alfarinn. He wondered how that little request of his had colored the rest of that evening's events. Reaching up, he brushed Alfarinn's cheek with his fingertips.
"Alfarinn, you could have told me. I didn't realize what I was asking that night."Â? He shook his head. "I cannot imagine what you must have thought of me; presumptuous in the extreme I'm sure. Really, I had no idea."Â? Realizing that he had become somewhat flustered and was now rambling, he fell quiet, biting his lower lip in thought.

Alfarinn looked up to watch his companion as he spoke. It would seem that Thaddeus was alright with the explanation and quite honestly he did not expect him to be entirely shocked. Thaddeus was quite sharp and though the modern fetish scene wasn't his own social group, he was certain that once it was explained his companion would see evidence of it making sense.
He was about to say that it did not bother him in the least so long as Thaddeus understood but then his lover stopped speaking and stood still for a moment, shock and understanding.
Alfarinn waited.
Smiling at the hand on his cheek, he pulled his companion close and kissed him gently once, capturing that bitten lower lip between his own and gently tugging on it before letting go.
Still holding his lover close, he said.
"I knew you didn't know and I didn't think you presumptuous. I did not explain because there was just so much to take in that night already. It seemed like a long explanation that I was less certain of how you'd take then. I have come to know you much better since that night and feel somewhat foolish for not having trusted you to remain calm about it. Most people wouldn't have noticed or cared and others would assume you were taken. I figured that would be helpful your first night at the HoP.
Alfarinn sighed slightly, mostly in relief that the explaining was done.
"I just didn't want you to think I had not told for some nefarious reason and I wanted you to be aware of it, in case it bothered you. It does not make me uncomfortable."
He grinned at Thaddeus and looked somewhat embarrassed.
"Not hardly, the idea of people thinking you belong to me... well it makes me proud, to be honest. I have a beautiful, intelligent and caring lover and I can't think of any reason to hide that fact. "
Alfarinn leaned back and looked at Thaddeus again. He wasn't certain about how his lover would feel with his easy acceptance of the idea "showing him off" but he was happy to be seen with Thaddeus and considered himself the luckiest man alive to have someone so wonderful love him in return.
Mostly he wanted other people to realize how remarkable Thaddeus was, though this was not the social scene that he would rather take his companion through he'd be proud of Thaddeus any where. It was not even so much that he wanted people to know Thaddeus belonged to him because in truth they belonged to each other but he felt there was sometimes a comfort in being openly in a relationship. A single person alone and adrift on the night club scene had all kinds of things to worry about and could not truly shine without worry of unsavory attention. Making the statement of possession gave one more freedom to be themselves, to let people know that it is alright to look but not to touch, much like a wedding ring on the finger of someone you had been admiring.
Though in all honesty, none of that was likely to happen this night, neither of them would be there to be noticed and there already was someone who wanted to do a great deal more than touch Thaddeus.
"Far from it, I think I am likely to tell the people who don't already know."

Thaddeus returned the kiss, still feeling somewhat confused but glad of the sudden affection. He stayed close, resting one hand on Alfarinn's arm as he continued, then chuckled somewhat ruefully.
"Yes, because I took the clothes in general with -such- good grace. I seem to recall something about claiming I would be arrested or some such nonsense."Â? Smiling, he went on. "And perhaps it did turn out to be helpful after all; had you not thought to make it appear I was with you that night, who knows where we would be?"Â?
He shook his head, remembering the sudden realization that had struck at the bar after his companion wrapped one arm around him, in the simple gesture of moving his hand from Alfarinn's back to his shoulder. Something he had, futilely, tried to brush off as nothing, and was now quite glad he had not been able to let it go.
"Though I can't honestly imagine the two of us not figuring things out sooner or later. We -are- quite brilliant together."Â?
He found himself blushing at his lover's assessment of him, and turned around, taking Alfarinn's hand in his as he moved and placing the collar into it. He spoke softly, somewhat embarrassed himself.
"I am glad you think so."Â? He lowered his head, though he turned enough to see Alfarinn out of the corner of his eye, quietly pleased that his companion was not unnerved as he had previously believed.
Shaking his head at the mental image of Alfarinn sharing their happiness with complete strangers on the street, he continued with a sly grin.
"Perhaps we should issue a press release then; though I don't know if Nachton can take the simultaneous wailing of thousands of women when they find out Arin Bjorn is no longer available."

Alfarinn smiled at Thaddeus and said.
"Well, there might have been behavioral evidence for my opinion, however, I -do- think your later statements were probably correct. While I was right that your going out in public would not have gotten you arrested, someone as devastatingly charming and witty would likely have been too popular for comfort in the local prison....not to mention those leather pants did a great deal to show off your other -assets- to a nice effect."
His expression was part smirk and part leer at his lover, his eyes flicking quickly over said assets before coming to rest on the grey eyes that regarded him in return.
To the next statement, Alfarinn nodded his agreement, looking thoughtful.
"No, I can't imagine us not figuring it out eventually though I am personally glad that it was understood as quickly as it had been. A lot of time could have been wasted trying not to touch you that could have been better spent doing just that. I'm glad you decided to say something because we are "quite brilliant" together."
He looked down at the collar in his hand, touched that Thaddeus still wanted him to help him put it on. Alfarinn stepped closer to Thaddeus until he could feel his companion's body heat through his thin shirt, almost touching but not quite. Taking the piece of leather between his hands and gently placing it around his lover's neck, Alfarinn then leaned down and kissed Thaddeus deeply but gently as he fastened the buckle.
Pulling his hands away and sliding them down the delicious fabric of Thaddeus's shirt, he smiled.
"Some of them seem to have a remarkable ability to dream. I am sure some story would come out that said it was all untrue.. a publicity stunt or some such. Though in all honesty I think they would be more intrigued by my handsome companion. You could easily have a dozen fan sites of your own. Let's see... how about... Thaddy's Grrls?"
Alfarinn did his best to look completely innocent as he placed the boxes back on the top shelf of the closet and turned out the light. Coming back to his companion, he sighed.
"Though they probably wouldn't let me join and I'm your number one fan."

Thaddeus grinned at the feel of cool hands on his rather heated neck; Alfarinn's comments, not to mention the look his companion had given him, had brought on another blush. He decided he may have to reconsider the leather pants if Alfarinn liked them so well.
He tilted his head curiously when Alfarinn mentioned trying not to touch him, though his questions were rather cut off with a thorough kiss that Thaddeus was more than pleased to return. With the collar fastened and the shirt quite unnecessarily smoothed by Alfarinn's lingering touch (though Thaddeus doubted that had been his companion's intent when he ran his cool hands over the fabric), they appeared to be two young men ready for a night on the town. He wondered suddenly if they would ever return to the House of Pain simply for the sake of going.
He did, after all, owe Alfarinn a dance.
He raised one eyebrow at the suggestion of a fan site and spoke in sincere tones as Alfarinn put away the boxes.
"Alas, it cannot be. 300 pound rule and all."Â?
The disturbing mental image of being chased down by large women on motorcycles flickered through his mind before he could shake it off, and he found himself chuckling. There would, however, be something of an accounting to be had with the Triad should he suddenly appear in the public eye, not to mention his own discomfort with the idea. He reasoned that the chances of getting that sort of attention were fairly slim and not something to be seriously concerned about.
"Oh, I don't know about that; after all, you have all the inside information on me."Â?
He ran his hand down Alfarinn's sleeve once more, imagining his companion seated in the midst of the large biker women and filling their heads with stories. Deciding he simply had to stop such ridiculous thoughts from entering his mind, he pushed the thought away once more and moved on.
"Was there anything more you wished to do before we go?"Â?
Blushing at his own statement, which he realized too late could likely be interpreted with something other than the innocence he intended, he rested his head on Alfarinn's shoulder and looked up shyly.
"Besides me, that is."Â?

He smiled and shook his head at his companion, not quite certain whether it was as funny as Thaddeus's inner amusement warranted but still happy to find his lover was getting a chuckle out of it. They would need all the lightheartedness they could get here soon.
"I'm glad it amuses you, maybe I should start one up? I definitely want a tee shirt. How do you think I would look in one that said "Thaddy's grrl"?"
He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at his companion's statement. Eying Thaddeus a moment more, Alfarinn poked out a lip in a mock pout before commenting.
"But you are certainly the most fun thing to be "doing" Thaddeus."
Alfarinn thought there were other people that they should see, someone should know where they were headed but it would be difficult to do any of that with the time they had. They would be fine so it wouldn't matter, Alfarinn resolved to himself.
"No, I think we need to be going."
Taking, his companion's hand, He led them both back down the stairs and went to a table near the door. From the front drawer, he pulled out a set of keys. Dangling the key chain with the Ferrari emblem, he jangled them lightly with a smile.
"Care to take a little ride? I figure we should drive instead of having to give directions to a limo driver.. though I have to admit neither a limo nor my car would be inconspicuous but with the tracking device we don't have to be within sight. This lets us come and go more quickly. That is if you trust a 2000 year old man to drive..."
He bent himself over and tried to look old and decrepit before straightening and turning to Thaddeus again.

Thaddeus had the grace to blush at Alfarinn's pouty remark, though he did his best to look serious; likely a loosing battle but one could hardly blame him for trying.
"You are quite irresistible when you do that. Well, to be fair you are difficult to resist under any circumstances, not that I try all that hard."Â? Shaking his head, he continued. "Alfarinn, I love you deeply and for you"Â? he put his hand on his chest "I would submit to being called..."Â? he struggled with himself for a moment "...Thaddy."Â? Letting his grin break, he added: "But encouraging others to do the same is pushing it."Â? He gave Alfarinn's arm a light squeeze to show he was joking.
Following his companion down the stairs, he took the opportunity to have a better look around, smiling softly at the place Alfarinn called home. It once again occurred to him just how much his love was giving up by being with him, and not just in terms of material possessions; Thaddeus was, he would admit, a bit high maintenance as of late, though he looked forward to a time when they could simply relax and enjoy each other.
He raised both eyebrows when Alfarinn dangled the keys in front of him, finding himself curious.
"You know how to drive."Â? He tilted his head to one side, unable to place the feeling this knowledge brought. "and of course I trust you."Â?
He frowned as he picked up his shopping bag and pulled out the gloves, slipping them on his hands and clenching his fists to stretch the still stiff leather. Placing the feeling at last, he looked up at Alfarinn, openly curious.
"Where did you learn to drive?"Â?
It was, he would admit, completely irrational to suddenly have a wish to drive, and he supposed it mostly came from wanting to fit into Alfarinn's life a bit better, to not be quite so lost in the modern world at his companion's side.
Shaking his head, he moved the bag from his left hand to his right and picked up the laptop bag, resting the strap on his shoulder and giving Alfarinn a little shrug.
"I might like to learn. For now, though, I shall navigate."Â?

Alfarinn raised both eyebrows at the thought of being irresistible when pouting and tucked the information away somewhere with a grin as they had walked down the stairs. His companion's telling him that he loved him and allowing him to call him Thaddy made him smile though he felt that Thaddeus sounded far better to his own ears as well.
Holding the keys, he chuckled at his companion's surprise at his driving ability. He supposed it was the Evenhet way to embrace new things and new technology so learning to drive seemed natural enough to him. It wasn't something he did often around the city but sometimes he liked a long drive to where ever he might decide to go.
"Yes, I liked them from early on but I didn't learn to drive immediately. Some of the very old models just weren't built for people with long legs."
He thought the idea of watching Thaddeus learn to drive would be endearing. His lover's serious attention to detail and earnest interest in things would be... well, irresistible. Alfarinn wondered what kind of car Thaddeus would choose to drive and figured they could look online and narrow it down to some favorites to go see. Inwardly shaking his head at already planning on car shopping, he grinned at Thaddeus.
"I could teach you if you like, or if you aren't comfortable with me teaching then you could take a course on it. No one would find anything amiss about a teenager needing to learn to drive."
Alfarinn opened the door slightly and then leaned down to kiss his companion.
"Well, Gilligan, lets get going."

Thaddeus considered the thought of Alfarinn teaching him to drive, wondering if that was a wise idea. He certainly thought it was an improvement over some human he didn't know teaching him the ropes and could only hope he didn't aggravate his companion too much; Thaddeus was reasonably quick on the uptake but happened to find the idea of operating a vehicle to be a little intimidating. Of course, that particular feeling had settled in -after- he had mentioned wanting to learn, so there was, in his mind, no helping it now.
"I would be delighted if you would teach me at some point."Â?
He watched as Alfarinn opened the door, distracted from the rush of anxiety by his companion's kiss, which he returned with an intensity that surprised him. Stepping through the doorway after Alfarinn, he tilted his head in confusion.
"'Thaddy' I can understand, even if I don't particularly care for it...I do believe Gilligan is a bit of a stretch though."Â?
Deciding he had clearly missed something, he continued on his way at Alfarinn's side, heading for the elevators and back out into the world.
