Tour of Meridian Towers
"Lets begin with the outer construction." The voice resumed its speech once you had made your choice. "This building was constructed in 1931. In the underground section of the building you can still see the original stone construction. In 1990 the building's outer surface was given a makeover covering the stone with the steel and glass structure that you see today. The inner facade was entirely redone in 2000 to take full advantage of modern technology. Throughout the building you will now find screens like this terminal along the wall. I am available at a simple touch to answer any questions you may have. The double tower design accommodated separate living spaces for the owners at each apex with the stunning archway connecting both buildings across the busy Nachton main street. Each of penthouse suite has its own outdoor garden and helicopter pad and is well known for its trademark modern cathedral look rendered in glass and steel. The archway itself spans 10 stories of steel plated in silver to give it the trademark near white shine that it has become famous for. Windows in the archway look out over the busy main thoroughfare of Nachton.
The Lobby is our greeting center here at Meridian. As you will notice there is a central center for Customer service. It is here that you will need to go for vistor passes and appointment check ins. The original marble floor has been replaced by sensor pads. We took great care to maintain the original white marble facade but now I may keep track of movements within the building as well use the plates to guide people to their location. I will show you, please follow the lighted tiles." Looking down you notice the white marble tile you are standing on begins to give off a warm yellow glow, the one in front of it lights as well, followed by the next and so on until you have a clear path to follow. The illuminated route ends at the elevator. Upon reaching your next destination, the doors open and MARI's voice speaks to you again.
"Welcome to the balcony. Here you will find various food services, shops and seating to meet all our employee and visitors needs. As with the lobby you will find the design has been left open to create a sense of airy spaciousness. Plants and trees have been added instead of walls on this level in order to help promote a sense of peace and relaxation. Studies have shown that our employees tend to spend their break time on this floor rather than go offsite." You could almost sense a smug pride in the voice of MARI. The balcony did have shops and cafes of every type imaginable and you could see various groups of people seated under the abundant foliage talking and laughing almost as if they were in a park instead of a towering monument of metal. The lighted path brings you once more to the elevator.
