Gainful Employment ((Attn: Simon))
"Ok, legitimate business ventures planned, cover locations established, gear loaded, stowed or repurchased...I suppose I really should formally announce my availability for work. Now...Simon or Ellis."
Inhaling deeply, Alec pondered what he knew of the two juggernauts of the Tacharan. Ellis...pretty much hell on wheels. A Predator's Predator. Sex, blood, cunning and danger all contained within a will to turn vampiric society on its head. Simon...cold, calculating, loyal...the rigid foundation of that world...but a father figure to his line. Interesting indeed.
"Well, Simon it is. Ellis just makes me too nervous. Might affect my work...ok, not likely, but her selections might tend toward violence, whereas Simon will be a bit more likely to utilize my preferred skills. Duibne seems a bit...laid back...for me. Who knows where I'll end up, though...just need to get out and about again."
Walking to the terminal in his small living quarters, he typed in his request for entry into the job queue. Message sent, he went back to planning his security consulting work.
He had received a text message notifying him that he had a message waiting. Returning the cell phone to his pocket, he approached one of the hallway computer panels and called up his messages. It was Alec Devereaux.
'Hmm.' One of the newer vampires. He had yet to really sit down and talk with him. Now was as good a time as any. Simon continued to the elevator and spoke Alec's name aloud. The steel doors shut quietly and within moments the large box was in motion. It settled quietly on Alec's floor and Simon exited.
Normally he would summon the vampire requesting to his office, but since he was on the way out, he would stop by for his visit. Simon reached out and touched the computer panel, signaling the occupant that someone was requesting entry.
Mr. Huntington. A pleasure. Please come in.
He reached out to shake Alec's hand, 'Alec, please. Call me Simon, I insist.' Alec already impressed him as being a solid player, but a talk was due. 'So you're ready to jump in, I wager?'
Simon it is then, sir.
"Man, good grip. He could probably rip my arm off if he wanted to." Straightening up, Alec took the physical aspects of Simon in. Unfocusing, Alec assessed Simon. Tall, lean, turned at the prime of his life. Intense, driven...his focus radiated from him like an aura. Precision. "I've chosen well on this path, I think."
Yes. The last of my cracking equipment has arrived. Within 90 minutes I should be fully available to begin any planning session that might be necessary. I am still acclimatizing myself to Nachton, so I have no preconceived patterns to worry about, but likely less support structure than other agents. Ah...but I ramble about things you already know.
Gesturing to the lone chair in the room, Alec asked
Any refreshment for you?
Ginnie had let Simon know of her request to procure more vampires. He would offer up Ginnie as a source for employment and see if it was something Alec would be interested in. With the recent decimation of her forces, he would be perfect to rebuild her team. He would also be very useful with Simon at the raid in the compound. Depending on how he felt about Ginnie, Simon considered offering Alec a spot on his team when they moved tonight.
Simon watched the smaller man. Strong but very lithe looking. 'About your wish to join the ranks, I do have someone I can put you in touch with, unless you wish to work alone?'
It has been some time since I have worked in a team environment, but certain of my skills are excellent in support and entry. I am willing to give most anything a try. I know that you are already aware of some of my deficiencies in conventional conflict, so I suspect that the team in question has need of either a recon or entry specialist. I am prepared to lend support wherever it is needed.
Wondering what he had just signed on for, Alec internally shrugged. Whatever it was, it would probably be invigorating and a good way to get involved in a more positive fashion within clan structure.
Is there anything specific I should research or prepare before introduction to the cell leader? Rather, anything outside of my file?
Remembering his manners, Alec blinked. In his excitement to get involved, he'd forgotten his social cues. More practice was obviously needed.
'I'd say come as you are when it concerned Ginnie. I can see your skills are very much worthy and the clan is lucky to have you. I doubt you could be any more prepared. You can contact Ginnie either through Carol or leave a message for her through your com panel.' Simon thumbed behind him at darkened computer panel by the entrance.
'If there isn't anything else, I'll be off.'
((ooc - simon heading out, but waiting on a reply))
Bowing slightly, Alec followed Simon to the door and shut it behind him.
"Ginnie, huh? I wonder what she'll be needing a doorman for. Interesting. Well, I should probably brush up just in case."
Heading to the "living room," Alec pulled on a pair of gloves and got ready to practice some safecracking.
