Ger Kogji Party - House
Now that you have entered the party and been greeted at the door, please feel free to step into one of the many rooms available. The formal front room is available along with the kitchen and family room. Several of the rooms have doors leading to the Lanai.
Each of the room has lush tropical plants and abundant seating. Caterers are set up in the kitchen and breakfast area with hor dourves. There is a powder room to the right of the front room.
There are some doors that are locked and guarded by security personel. It would be unwise to attempt to enter these areas.
((This thread is for the party guests that wish to make their ways out into the many rooms of the house to enjoy the sights, sounds and scents.))
It would seem that many of the others had yet to arrive and there were only a few currently in the room. The tiny Elder of Anantya was hard to miss or mistake for anyone else but he did not recognize the others save for their hosts. At least he assumed the woman close to Cyrus to be the party's other host and figured that was a reasonably safe assumption.
Stepping out of the way of the door, Christian extended general greetings to the room's occupants.
"Good evening, everyone."Â?
Suddenly their plan did not seem so well thought out. Think Claire... think. What did she know about Christian Bern that might make for a plausible reason for prior knowledge? He was Swiss...hardly terribly useful. It was a small country but no place was -that- small, besides Sorin was still likely to want her to explain how their acquaintance ended them up here, at an Anantya hosted party.
She could hear it know.
'Ah, my Oubliette, do tell us why you decided to disturb the sanctity of our esteemed clan mate's home by arriving with an outsider. Or were you being thoughtful and hoping to present him to Cyrus to be served at dinner?'
Claire could even see the raised eyebrows and amused smirk. Her cheeks flushed at her Creator's imagined disdain and public humiliation. This would not do and they were rapidly coming upon a room that held every sign of being the dining room. Sorin could be in there chatting away this very instant. Tugging on her escort's sleeve, Claire hoped that he would could take the subtle hint to speak to her in a manner more private than public.
Upon entering the room, she was relieved to see that her Sire had yet to arrive. Blessed be to those smiling upon her for that small favor.
/ooc Sorin's words very much assumed. Terribly sorry to suggest Christian for dinner
Tables with small labels. How appropriate, Alexander thought.
He immediately recognized his delightful hosts and could not mistake the venerated Elder of the Hunt.
Alexander was immediately cheered and comforted by her appearance.
Waiting quietly inside the entrance, Alexander watched as other patrons slowly began making their way inside.
((ooc - Alex in Dining Room))
And hope it was not anything that required his immediate reaction. He looked forward again as someone new entered. In a tone of quiet inquiry, Christian sent.
[Yes, Ma'am?]
"Everyone...please, be seated. They will begin serving the first course soon, and I hope you're all hungry."
Her own stomach was full of butterflies, but Fallon knew what was on the menu, and had personally tasted everything before giving the caterers the menu. She hoped her choices would go over well, but until she saw for herself that they were, she'd be sitting on pins and needles.
Once seated, Fallon smiled down the long table at the face of the man she loved. While she really would have rather sat next to him, at least she had the luxury of looking at him throughout the meal. Reaching up to her neck, her fingers touched the now warm strand of diamonds again, as if to remind herself that they, and he were real. She then greeted the people closest to her, and smiled as the waiters brought in the first course.
The menu was seven courses, and with the first being an appetizer of chilled tiger prawns, that had been marinated in a ginger and teriyaki sauce. Another waiter followed behind the first, and carried two bottles of different white wines. Since the meal consisted mainly of fish and pork dishes, Fallon decided to forgo red wines, but did also have goblets of lemon ice water at each setting, and guests were free to ask for the beverage of their choice when presented with the wine, if they chose.
She hoped the others soon joined them, so everyone could begin eating. That had been something she now realized she hadn't thought out fully, and another reason why it might have been better to have served buffet style.
But what was done, was done, and she would hope for the best.
He also didn't, however, want to be too far from Thaddeus, especially considering who had just entered the room and seemed to be headed their way. Torn for a moment, he hovered near a chair that was a space away from his friend, thinking he could go in either direction depending on how things played out. Fallon came in and invited them to sit down but he figured he'd let at least a few others fall into place first, namely the Elder of the Night and his lovely colorfully haired companion.
Show time.
Thaddeus had said to keep it simple and he hoped it could stay that way. Calmly, he made eye contact with Sorin, then pulled out his chosen chair. Hopefully that single glance would be enough to indicate that they had a shared secret and he hadn't forgotten it...and that much was certainly true enough.
His eyes, did widen a little, though, at Sorin's companion, but for the moment he was going to have to take that in stride. He did, however, comment to Alfarinn before heading toward Mai.
[He's with -Dawn-...from the initiation.]
Great, just what Anantya needed – Sorin inflicting himself on more impressionable young vampires. He felt a twist of something very like hatred before he remembered himself. It was very possible that Dawn was...well, any number of things. Older than he had been led to believe, and more involved with Sorin from the first than he had ever realized.
This wasn't going to work if he continued to allow his mind to play out possible scenarios with increasing anger and paranoia; he sternly reminded himself of that fact and felt a dazed sort of serenity wash over him. It was a true blessing to have Mai there, and he wasted no more time in closing the distance before Sorin could join them. Palmer shadowed him without getting too close but he was relived to see his friend making his way to the same table.
“Mai,” He said, softly in greeting when he came to her side. “You look lovely tonight.” Different, but lovely just the same.
Fallon announced that everyone should be seated, and he let his eyes stray toward the entrance once more. Yes, they were definitely headed this way – there was, however, still enough distance that exchanging greetings wouldn't be appropriate, so he settled for a polite nod to both Sorin and Dawn.
/ooc Permission to spot Sorin but I kinda assumed on Dawn – smack me if that's not okay
It was hard to miss the tall Norseman in a the halls and he frowned. His first reaction had been to wonder what exactly Alfarinn was doing here but he quickly understood the implications. Thaddeus had brought him, an elder of Evenhet, to a clan mate's party.
After the initial bitterness, Sorin considered his options. It could be useful. He just had to find a way to turn the situation to his advantage. They arrived into the dining room and he took in the occupants. Moving a little ahead of Dawn, he led them towards the little blonde menace and his Huntsman friend, who was near but not near. Mai...she would be a problem.
Turning, to Dawn he smiled.
"You know Thaddeus, I believe."Â?
((OOC: permission to drag Dawn along with me ))
"You know Thaddeus, I believe."Â?
"Hiya Thaddeus! Yup! Met'im at Fallon's comin' out party. Mai beat us atta drinkin' game...well, almos', anyways. He made a badass riddle that was all poetical an' shit, but followed wit'a story tha'was...uh...hella borin'...sorry man...but he seemedta think it was 'xitin'! So that's sumthin! He'as a lil unsteady, so I carried'im backta'is room, but'e didn't puke'r nothin. Oh, an'no, I didn't take advantage'f'is weaken'd moral state. I'm not that kinda girl! No worries!"
Observing his direct company, she smiled at Elder Mai despite knowing that she wouldn't "see" it. A lot of people said you could feel a genuine smile, and hers was. Turning to face Mai fully, she revealed what she'd learned boning up on her Anime. Bowing in the Japanese fashion, very deeply, she said
"O-yasumi nasai, Mai-sama! I really hope I said it right! How's it goin'?"
Looking to the other company that Library was keeping was a pleasant surprise - very yummy. Licking her teeth behind her closed lips, she thought she'd have to chop it up with him later. For now she managed a pleasant smile. It'd be wrong t'start hittin' on someone before Mai's reply. Lotta pairs here tonight, but unless he was with Thaddeus, he seemed to be a singleton. Thaddy was a bit balki, but this guy didn't seem t'be. The other two didn't seem to be directly interacting with the grouping in front of them, but looked like they were more tied to each other and had been talking to Mai earlier by the posturing. Waving a brief greeting to them, she figured everyone'd get introduced. If not, no big deal. She'd just make up names and stories for them. Well, she'd probably do that anyway.
[ Ah....I'm sure she's just sticking with someone she knows then?]
He gave a nod in passing to his fellow Evenhet and his date.
"Hello Christian, Claire."
Moving over to his companion, Alfarinn handed Thaddeus his club soda.
“Here you are.” He almost added Beloved but stopped short before using the endearment under so much public scrutiny. He did, however, place his hand on Thaddeus' shoulder. Turning to the Elder of the Hunt, Alfarinn smiled.
“Good Evening, Mai”
((OOC: Not trying to ignore peoples...but he doesn't know most and Cyrus and Fallon were kind enough to greet him earlier ))
Turning towards his other side he bowed again to Sorin and apparently Dawn, though how those two found anything to discuss he did not know. As people filtered in he watched his familiar direct each to their seat with polite comments and compliments. Suki thanked each one as she found their seat with them before leaving them there. How she could manage to get someone like Desiree moving was also beyond him. Still his boisterous accountant took her seat with grace and only one admonation to Suki.
Cyrus was quite impressed with the turn out and how everything seemed to be moving smoothly as Fallon orchestrated it all.
((Please feel free to have Suki seat you, or find your own place at the table.))
The wait staff led Alexander to a long table. In the centre was Cyrus, seated to his next to him was Mai.
"Your place is at the table, Mr. West."
That couldn't be right, Alexander mused. Was this a test or something more sinister. He didn't presume to know Mai well, and he certainly didn't know his hosts.
Alexander's sat down at the offered chair, next to the venerated Elder of the Hunt and politely offered his greetings to Mai.
Unexpected. Surpising. But also somewhat pleasant. Alexander sat and silently pondered this turn of events.
((ooc - seating arrangement by Cyrus))
Turning the other way, she smiled at Cyrus - she didn't really know him either, but he'd been busy building a house and getting Fallon all acclimated and getting laid. He had good reasons to not be around so much. Well, maybe Thaddeus and Abba were doing some glacial movement through some valleys of their own. Chuckling at the image that presented, she sipped her drink to clear the visual - could be a dangerous thought train, that one. Past Cyrus was the Whitey Skirtypants that'd been making eyes back and forth with Amby. Grinning at him, she said to Sorin
"Be right back. Gotta do sumthin."
Taking Amberelle's name card from its place, she boldly walked around the table and swapped it with the one next to the card he was standing in front of - Mr. Alex West. Smiling at him, she winked and said
"Best make the most of it, yo."
Returning to her spot by Sorin, she grinned.
"Just doin' my good deed for th'decade. Amby better not waste it."
Yup, that was her. Dawn Ratana, Cupid De Anantya. Looking around, she wondered when this grub was gonna go down. She wanted to see what kind of board Cyrus and Fallon'd lay for a party like this. She was guessing shrimp and coconut and pineapple would make appearances, but she didn't know much else about island food. Ooo...maybe kahlua pig - that'd be neat, but they'd have seen the pit. Unless they catered it in well sealed. Ah well, she'd know soon enough. Fidgeting, she looked around the table, waiting for something interesting to happen.
Having tapped that resource, she turned back to Sorin.
"Hey, who's the oof-tah with Thaddeus? He looks familiar, but I don't know from where. "
( (ooc question regarding seating. Who is on each side of Wesley? as he would converse if he knew))
((This chart is going back for more adjustments. Please give me 5 hours to fix it up. SORRY!))
[I... was wondering if there might not be something that would explain our association... Should anyone ask.]
She gave him an uncertain look but then hurried on in an effort to be helpful.
[I am doctor and volunteer at a local shelter, I like herbs, the ocean...]
Long walks on the beach... Claire felt terribly silly and faltered in her list of interests. How long could he continue to hear her anyway? She had no idea but hoped one of the things she put forward sparked an idea. In the interim more people had arrived, including her Sire.
[Dani mentioned to me that she had met you. Perhaps we should stick to a version of the truth in this matter. You met me through Dani.]
But does she like you enough to take you to a party and introduce you to her clan? Probably not under normal circumstances; Christian was not certain how he felt about that. Disappointment?
He shrugged the feeling away and went back to the matter at hand. There was little to no possibility that either of them would allow the well meaning young woman to 'fix them up' on a blind date. Christian also seriously doubted that Claire would ask Dani such a thing at all, especially not for a clan party. She struck him as a private person. There was really no help for it as far as he could see, they were going to have to play as though they were at least moderately interested in starting up a relationship together.
[It is also possible that we are working together for your shelter. I can make clockwork toys. Perhaps there might be another connection...still, it is up to you which reason you pick for why you chose to bring me.]
Christian hoped he didn't sound too belligerent but she was going to have to live with whatever choice she made so the least he could do was go along with it. There were not many of his clan here and he doubted the ones that were present would trouble him for being seen with a statuesque Anantya.
She took a bite of the prawns, and smiled. The food was excellent, even if she had already tasted it. She ran the menu over in her head, remembering what was to come next...
Sizzling rice soup...spicy and crunchy.
The nutty tropical salad, with arugula, pineapple, mango, avocado, jicama, macadamia nuts, and a light peanut oil with lime and vinegar dressing.
A pineapple and coconut sorbet to cleanse the pallet.
Roasted pork loin, crusted with almonds and grand marnier sauce.
Seared Mahi Mahi, or rare Ahi, depending on the guest's choice.
And a macadamia nut and passion fruit cheese cake for dessert.
Yes...Fallon thought that was it, and because the courses added up to seven, she knew she had remembered them all. She again hoped the guests liked the food, and that there was enough to please everyone.
But until her nerves calmed down again, she didn't think she'd be able to eat much, and kept her bites tiny, chewing much more than necessary to give her something to do. Glances at Cyrus were frequent, but she tried to also divide her gazes to the guests at that end of the table too.
"It was good of you to join us Dessiree. I hope in visiting Ger Kogji you can see that Cyrus is quite conscientious about his investments."
Since Dessiree was the closest guest to Fallon at the moment, she thought now would be a good time to try and make the woman feel more welcomed. Fallon didn't feel real at ease talking about financial matters, but thought her general comment wouldn't be thought of as very crass.
"Domo, Thaddeus-san."Â?
Politeness taken care of, Mai threw her arms around Thaddeus and beamed up at him.
"I am glad your here, Ba-di-kun."Â?
She didn't sense Alfarinn in the room but Thaddeus still smelled of his of companion, faint but there, so she suspected that the Evenhet Elder was here as well. Mai's eyes betrayed her amusement at Dawn's retelling of how she met Thaddeus.
She gave Dawn a puzzled grin at her Japanese and wondered if the girl was leaving the party early.
"It is going well, Dawn-chan."Â?
The girl turned to find her seat and Mai looked up from her hold on Thaddeus to notice Alfarinn coming back to the room.
"Konbanwa, Alfarinn-san. It is good to see you."Â?
She turned to find Alex was being seated next to her and that Thaddeus was placed elsewhere. She was seated next to Cyrus and she understood the honor in the arrangement. Mai looked from her seat to Thaddeus and Alfarinn.
"Good Evening, West- san. This is Grey-san of the Order of the Night and Jarlsen-san, Elder of Evenhet."Â?
[I hope she isn't crushing you too terribly hard. I'd like to have something left to hold myself.]
He was about to set his drink down at the place that was marked for him but he looked over when he felt Mai's uncertainty. Looking down at her place and their's, he understood that Thaddeus had not been sat next to her. There was likely some good reason for the arrangement though he had never met the individual who was seated at Mai's other side.
The Anantya Elder seemed to know him however; so he was probably one of their clan.
“A pleasure. Mr West.”
Alfarinn pulled out his chair and gestured to Mai.
“Take my seat if you like. I have horded plenty of Thaddeus' attention.”
He gave his partner's shoulder a final squeeze before moving to sit in Mai's chair.
[I hope that is alright, Beloved. She really misses you.]
Taking a sip of the scotch, Alfarinn smiled at Mr West.
“I hope you do not mind the change in seating. I am afraid I've been taking up a good deal of Thaddeus' time of late.”
((OOC: Mai's emotions with permission. She's generous like that ))
