One, Two, Three Little Boxes (Attn: Alexander)

She'd been working for Alexander for a while now, a month or so, and had been actually enjoying herself. It was nice to know he was right upstairs so she never felt totally alone and didn't worry about things getting out of hand. Marie was even doing better dealing with the male customers, although she didn't ever respond to their flirting no matter how mild.

Tonight she'd happily agreed to come in and help with some inventory. She didn't really need the money, she honestly wanted to help Alexander out. He was very nice, she didn't even mind being alone with him. Just finishing up a count of carbines Marie heard Alexander coming down stairs, from the sounds of it with his boyfriend.

She did her best to keep her eyes down and pretend not to notice but she was a little curious, she always was when seeing them together, which wasn't often. She knew Eiryk was upstairs with Alexander most days but Marie never ever saw him. She was starting to wonder about him, but never said anything and even tonight just kept working. Objectively Marie could say both were good looking men, and those were the kind that were hardest to trust. But they were totally into each other and that let her relax a little bit, even around Eiryk.

Without really watching she saw Eiryk kiss Alexander and leave.

Eiryk just laughed and for the moment leaned back and quietly removed himself from the conversation. He doubted that Alex had ever even considered being turned. Eiryk, however, had thought about it. He'd never mentioned it but Eiryk was very aware that Alex was mortal and he would eventually lose him. Truth of the matter was he didn't know if he could deal with that. Not that he had to think about it for years, but it could... would happen.

Part of him was hoping that Marie would talk Alex into it, or at least put the idea in his head. After all, Eiryk would be happy to make sure it would happen and happen in a comfortable supportive environment. No crazy English monks grabbing him and biting him for no reason... OK for a reason but unexpectedly. But no pressure either, even without Marie the odds were that Alex would eventually think of it himself.

Alex smiled at Marie. "I'm glad it seems that you're getting what you want. That's a rare thing."

Eiryk had fallen silent so Alex tilted his head at him and invited him over to where they sat. He handed him a box of stock to count while he continued with the caribbeaners, the bane of his existence.

Listening to Marie, he shook his head.
"Being different doesn't make you strange. Just be who you want to be."

He couldn't believe he was advising someone to embrace undeath. But if that was what Marie felt was right, then she should do it. For him? He didn't think so. Eiryk had never offered and Alex hadn't asked what was involved. Maybe he should, just so he know. And maybe Eiryk wanted a human boyfriend and not a vampire one. Who knew.

Presently they finished inventory, just as Ambrose arrived to pick up Marie. Alexander thanked her again for coming to help and made sure the two of them made it out fine.

After that he and Eiryk brought out the trash and locked the store back up. I was Saturday night and Alex finally had a day completely to himself, to spend with Eiryk until noon on Monday. They passed over Alexander's apartment; Eiryk spent lots of time there for Alex's sake, so Alex was happy to go to Liefde with Eiryk when he could. That was where they headed now. As Eiryk drove, Alex bit back all of his questions and just shifted over in the seat next to his boyfriend, laying his head on Eiryk's shoulder.
