Sunday Shopping (open)

(( Continued from Arting Around All Day ))

The cabbie stopped in front of Rachyl's apartment building, and the two women got out. As the driver started to rattle off the fare, Rachyl said, "If you wait here six minutes, we'll be right back out, and there'll be a little something extra in it for you."

Hand-in-hand, into the building they ran, then up the stairs and into Rachyl's "ratflat." She dropped off the blanket-in-a-bag, quickly freshened up, then found a pale green blouse for Meegan. "It might be a tad small, but it should fit you."

They ran down to the cab, and made it back within five minutes. "Thanks for waiting," Rachyl said. The drive went quickly.

They stepped out of the cab, and Rachyl tipped the cabbie as she had promised, with a little extra. As they walked in the searing heat towards the entrance, Rachyl commented, "You look cute in my blouse, it's a bit short but I love how it shows off your belly and navel ring. I'm sorry but it's the only color I had clean."

Meegan's chuckle was low. 'I wish.' "I would wear a skirt about that length, a low cut top and a pair of boots like the ones I bought at Charlotte Russe. Though nothing is an intriguing prospect. The model on the ran way wore her thong and bra." Meegan winked rather lewdly at Rachyl.

"Well my little good girl, ready to go buy your first Coach bag?"
Rachyl 19 years ago
"I like it, I think I could see myself in this, both with a top and those boots as well as nothing." She giggled, then turned to Meegan. "Coach bag? We starting a sports team?"
Meegan 19 years ago
"Oh, my." Was all Meegan could think to say. Education was going to have to be their first order of business. She took Rachyl by the hand and lead her out of the Versace store, and headed down the street. Three storefronts later she opened a door to the smell of fine leather and metal. It was one of Meegan's favorite smell combinations.

"These, Rachyl, are Coach bags." Meegan set her shopping bags down by the entrance door, confident they would be safe. She went to a display of light colored leather bags, and began to pick them up and rifle through them.

"Pick one, it doesn't matter. Though for your first a neutral color in a classic style would be best."
Rachyl 19 years ago
"The neutral color part I understand. Which of these would be considered 'classic?'" She picked up a narrow-topped leather bag, then set it down and chose a wide-topped, narrow bottom bag. She looked at the almost-lunchbox shaped bag Meegan was holding, then selected a rather frumpy-looking bag that reminded her of the sewing and knitting kit one of the ladies in her old office used to carry.

Meegan chuckled, and walked across the sales floor, she took Rachyl by the shoulders, then turned her to the right.

"Those are the Signature Classics."

She returned to the leather bags, and picked up two trying to decide between the hobo and demi flap of the SOHO collection. Eventually she decided on the hobo, as it was more likely to match more, and had simplier lines.
Rachyl 19 years ago
Rachyl looked through the table of assortedly shaped bags. Some had wider tops, others wider bottoms. Some looked like duffle bags in miniature; others so small they'd barely fit a billfold and a cellphone, let alone any important things a woman would need to carry around.

She picked one that oddly resembled the curves of Meegan's bottom, in a khaki chestnut color with a pattern reminiscent of shoes or moebius strips. She held it up so Meegan could look at it.
"None of the blues came anywhere close to turquoise, so how's this?"
Meegan 19 years ago
A smile lit Meegan's face."It's perfect!"

Meegan took both purses to the counter and paid for them with her credit card. The woman placed them in the elegant Coach shopping bag and thanked Meegan for her patronage. As they stepped out of the shop Meegan's stomach growled. She looked down at the watch tied to her wrist with a fat black ribbon and knew why. It had been over four hours since she'd eaten.

"Hungry? There's a little cheesesteak place just down from here, that is almost as good as what you can get in Philly, you just have to over look that I eat mine with a fork."
Rachyl 19 years ago
Rachyl peeked at Meegan's watch as she did. "Four hours? Sure, I could eat. After that, what say we head back to your place to walk Dill before we figure out what to do with our night? I'd like a chance to talk in relative peace at some point, too. And no, I won't mind you eating it with a fork. Might even do so myself, I tend to make a bit of a mess when eating cheesesteaks."
Meegan 19 years ago
"Oh! I didn't tell you. Dill is at the vet's. The groomers took him when they noticed his belly was hard and distended. He has some kind of intestinal blockage, from chewing and swallowing his fuzzies. They are going to fix him up and he can come home in a couple of days. I saw him this morning and he seemed to be doing alright. They're supposed to call me around four when he's out of surgery. I'm sorry."

Meegan had stopped walking and put her hand on Rachyl's arm. "With everything else, it just escaped my mind. If I didn't think they could help him, I would be there pacing instead of out with you."
Rachyl 19 years ago
Rachyl put her hand on Meegan's, squeezing gently. "I hope you would have at least called me, so I could either pace with you or hold you into a chair so you didn't wear a hole in their floor." Eyes twinkling, a sincere look of concern on her face, she said, "Well, I'll go with you to pick him up, if you want. And I still want that quiet walk!"
Meegan 19 years ago
"It will be a few days, they have to make sure it doesn't reverse or whatever it is it might do." Meegan felt sweat start to trickle down her back and grimaced. "Would you settle for a dinner in a nice quiet place with dark corners, instead of a walk. It's too hot to walk much more."

Meegan looked at her watch again, and did some quick thinking.

"What do you say to a quick dip into another one of these stores for some clothes for tomorrow, and we book a room at the Piazza? They have an in room masseur or masseuse, which ever we prefer. We could order in room service and pamper ourselves silly."
Rachyl 19 years ago
Rachyl pondered with a prolonged "hmm". "Well, you know, I'll have to check my schedule..."

With that, she lifted her hands, palms up, and feigned scrutinizing an imaginary appointment book. "Nope, looks pretty clear, and I don't even have a pencil to write you in. You don't mind spontaneity, do you?" She winked and smiled.

She turned and looked up the remaining row of stores.
"What stores are left, and what's tomorrow? And I still want to be with you when you pick up Dill, if that's alright with you. Oh, and as far as the masseuse or masseur, that's up to you. I'm fairly good with my hands..."
Meegan 19 years ago
"Tomorrow is Monday and we have to go to work." Meegan looked up and down the row of boutiques and spoted a DKNY sign. She headed toward it, knowing they could find everything they needed. There was a Fredrick's next door for under things and night clothes. 'Perfect.'

"I think I'd like a masseuse. And champagne and strawberries with a great big bubble bath for dessert."

Meegan stepped into DKNY and began to look around for something she could be seen in at work.
Rachyl 19 years ago
Rachyl browsed the selection in DKNY, but realized she didn't like a lot of the offerings. She find a couple faux business suit-style outfits, and picked a dark grey wool jacket, with a white cotton shirt, grey muslin trousers, and a polka dotted tie. She figured it wouldn't be such a good idea to tell Meegan she didn't like so much of what was available, so she merely turned and asked, "Strappy sandals or something with heels?"
Meegan 19 years ago
Meegan looked up at Rachyl's selection and pursed her lips. "Heels."

She picked up a black linen sleeveless dress. It had a nice embroidered detail and looke about lower calf length. She grabbed the two since it looked like a larger cut, and picked up a pair of sliver strapy heels on her way to the dressing room.
Rachyl 19 years ago
Rachyl grabbed a pair of medium grey heels on her way to the dressing room, then stopped when she saw a rather attractive olive drab ruffled skirt. She grabbed one in her size, then looked around for a suitable top. Nothing matched the color or even came close, so she chose a white tank with a cute ribbon tie at the chest.

They tied each other's corsets back up and Meegan paid for the purchases. They headed next door to Fredrick's. Meegan decided that a bra would be pointless in that dress and chose a simple black string bikini panty. She found a very pretty satin sleep shirt and chose the sapphire. She took her things to the register to wait for Rachyl.
Rachyl 19 years ago
A table of corsets stood next to a pair of mannequins artfully embraced (and tastefully attired in said corsets). She picked up a black one with large, silver laces in front, and held it before her, then showed it off to Meegan. "If I wore this, I'd look like a giant football!"

Giggling as Meegan rolled her eyes, she set it back down. In the corner of the store the bodystockings caught her attention. She ran her hand over the mannequin wearing an opaque bodystocking and seriously wondered what she might look like wearing it.

She just wasn't sure she was ready to wear something so... conforming. "Maybe in a few more weeks of exercising..."

She found herself back at Meegan's side.
"I can't find anything that draws my attention, really, not that I'd wear right away, anyway."
Meegan 19 years ago
"Then sleep naked. But you do need to get something to wear under the capri's and that shirt requires at least a camisole, personally I'd wear a bra and cami under it."

While Rachyl continued to shop Meegan pulled out her phone and looked up the number for the Piazza on the web, then hit the cool little button that dialed it for her. A smooth voiced man picked up on the third ring.

"The Grand Piazza. This is Reagan. How may I help you?"

"Meegan Masters, Reagan. I need a room for two for tonight. What do you have available?"

"Good afternoon, Miss Masters." Rapid tapping of a keyboard can be heard. "It seems that all of our penthouse suits are occupied. I can offer you our deluxe honeymoon or the presidential." The man gives a soft chuckle. Meegan lifted a brow wondering what that was about. She tapped her finger to her lips trying to remember the rooms.

"The honeymoon suite will do fine. When we arrive, we will have some things that will need to be laundered and dry cleaned, I'll want those in our room by seven. Who is on staff for in room massage, tonight?"

"Angelina, Candy, Bryce, Paul, Lily aaaannnd Margo."

"Are Angelina and Lily available at eight?"

"They are."

"Good, book them for eight for me. Then at ten we'd like champagne and strawberries sent up. Also we'll need two toiletry sets one in vanilla and the other in rose, and two hygiene sets as well in our room when we arrive. What time can we check in." More rapid typing.

"Will four be convienent, Miss Masters."

"Yes Reagan, that will be fine. We will arrive at three to eat, have a corner table ready for us please."

"Yes ma'am. Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"That will be all, thank you Reagan."

"It is my pleasure to serve you, Miss Masters. We look forward to seeing you soon."

Meegan pushed the end call button on her phone and slipped it back into her purse. She turned to Rachyl and smiled.

"Ready?"
Rachyl 19 years ago
Rachyl shook her head, somewhat embarassed. "Not in the slightest. I've never really shopped for fashion, though you probably know that by now. Especially not bra, cami, and blouse... Most I've ever worn was a sweatshirt, t-shirt, and a sports bra when I used to shovel our walk in the winter."

She looked up at Meegan, towering over her, embarassment, sadness, and more than a smidgen of overwhelmedness in her eyes. "I'm sure you think I'm hopeless."
