Late Night with Unwanted Visitors.((Panos and Co.))
Meegan stood from her drafting table, put her hands in the small of her back and bent backwards as far as she could. Straightening, she twisted at the waist using her arms to guide the movement. She bent and touched her toes, hanging limp there for a moment, then slowly rolled up one vertebra at a time. She was working late tonight, her winter dead line loomed and she still needed at least seven more designs, and that was only for Gothic-ah. Luckily Gothic Threads had it's own team of designers that she met with once a month to go over sketches. Her subsidiary ran itself very, very well.
She was alone in the Gothic-ah building having forced Rachyl out at five with everyone else, the darling woman had brought her food, but Meegan didn't let her stay. By six-thirty it had just been her, the classic composers of Punk and her drafting table. So far she had one design, and she was starting to pencil the fifth draft of a second.
She was secure in the knowledge of the only way in or out of her building was through the front door via a buzzer that rang right to her phone. Cameras and two security guards took care of the rest.
((ooc take your time, and come when you're ready. This was floating in my head and needed to get written.))
"Diplomacy first, fighting later....After all, he hasn't hurt her yet, now has he?"
He knew she was right. If bloodshed could be avoided, then it was probably the best. Then he sensed the strength in the vampire. Perhaps as much as 5 times his own age. 5 times more experience. Aron decided that it would indeed be very good to keep the diplomatic line.
"Exscuse me, I believe Miss Meegan has an appointment"
I suposse the meeting will be put on hold then. He turned to face the other vampire and cocked his head.
You see, she has offered her help to me and i have accepted.
"I'm afraid this is rather urgent. I'm sure you could do without her help, no?"
As the words escaped his lips, he focused his powers on making every single word as persuasive as possible ((suggestion)). For once, Aron was sorry he wasn't an Antanya. Turning into a grizzly bear right now, seemed like a good idea.
Then he remembered why he had sent Chryseis away. He wasnt going to share then, and he wasnt going to share now.
Hmm, you know what, i could do with out. I could also, come back at a later time. But, alas, i wont and i'm sure you understand why. I couldnt possibly blow off this beautiful womens help, it would simply be rude of me.
"Ohh I'm sure she wil forgive you. Besides, I find her quite common. I mean, her nose...She is a bit ugly, isn't she?"
Once again he tried, not that he thought it would work, it was fairly obvious where this would end, but there was little reason not to try. He wondered how the bloody hell he could tell a lie like that with a straight face.
Panos could not believe what the other man had just said. He could feel the anger in his chest well up. He took a step forward towards the man and tensed. What was going on here? Something didn't seem right.
Stopping himself from moving any further in the other mans direction, Panos turned his head and looked back to Meegan. His eyes narrowed.
You think to play me for the fool? You silent reaction to words that harsh makes me wonder. Why aren't there words flowing from your lips now? Has the cat got your tounge?
"What would you have me say? Should I tear across this space trying to claw his eyes from his head? Or perhaps you would prefer I cower in a corner like a little girl while the adults settle the matter? Or could it be that I know our friend here is prone to saying stupid things for the shock value of them?"
Meegan had gotten caught up in her little tirade. She took a step forward her hands sliding to rest on her hips. Her eyes glared cold daggers at the vampire, her voice and breath remaining steady as she controls her emotions.
"You have given me little choice in anything this evening Panos Mehalitsenos. You have brought violence to my place of business, given me no choice but to harbor a runaway. I might mention you have healed completely and no longer need my assistance. Perhaps Mr. Mehalitsenos, you can give me a choice in the matter instead of throwing pretty words at me and placing blame where it is not warranted."
She stood two long paces from Panos having moved forward as she spoke. Her chest had begun to heave with her vehemence, as angry little flames licked at the daggers in her eyes.
"Allright, enough! I consider this one mine and I STRONGLY suggest that you go find your own. I do NOT wish to fight you"
He let the jacket slide off his soulders and threw it to Meegan.
"Hold this Meegan, don't want to get it dirty"
As the words left his lips, completely other words sounded in Meegans head.
"Keys are in the pocket. Be ready to run. It's a black jaguar. Go to my house, Jeeves will protect you"
I see.
This vampire was young, but so young he would be this reckless. Maybe he didnt realize who stood before him. Laughing at the act of valor Panos shook his head.
He turned back to Meegan who was now holding his coat. She had taken a few steps forward and was now alot closer to him than she had been. It would be so easy to just snatch her up and go...
But he wasn't going to, not yet at least. He didn't know the exact power of the other vampire and he didn't want to risk it just yet. There would be more nights to come. For now, he would take his leave and do a little research.
This evening seems to be comming to an end miss Meegan. Fear not fair beautiful woman, there will be many more evenings and encounters to be had.
Before either of them had a chance to speak again, Panos darted to the stair well and slammed through the door, tearing down the stairway, five steps at a time.
(OOC: Panos out but waitin for response!)
"Meegan...are you allright?"
"No not really. What part of this am I supposed to be alright about?"
She put three fingers to her forhead, and sighed. 'It's not his fault, don't take it out on him.'
"I'm sorry. It's not your fault. I don't even know who the hell that man is. Or why he was even in my studio. What I do know is that he's in a lot of trouble with very powerful people."
"Don't say sorry....I should have killed him, but...he's strong...old and very powerful"
Coward! You should have chased him, left him for the sunlight. She won't get a moments peace till you have.
"And what purpose would that have served love? You know nothing about him, absolutly nothing. He could have turned into a bat and done to her, what you just prevented"
He took the jacket on.
"Come...you shouldn't be alone tonight. We'll find out what to do..."
She turned toward her office and took a few steps, when Aron didn't follow her she looked over her shoulder at him. She was tired, had work to do, and he was just standing there. She needed to do something to get her mind off of almost having to watch him die, and off almost getting herself killed.
"Is it something you can do at my house? Or if you'd rather...be without my company...then I knew a hotel of sorts, where you'll be safe..."
"Yes, I can. I have a portable drafting table and a drawing kit. Let me leave a note for Rachyl, so that she doesn't flip. Would that be ok?"
She continued to her office, listening for Aron's answer.
"Go ahead....you don't have to get my permission...."
He hoped she wouldn't bury herself in work. It was very likely she would if he let her though....
"Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you." She kissed his cheek softly, then walked quickly into Rachyl's office, ignoring the tug in her belly. She left a brief note:
R~
I won't be in tomorrow. Call my cell if you need me. I will be at ~S~. ~J~ will be answering my calls.
<3
~M
It said nothing to anyone but Rachyl, she hoped. She left the smaller office and went back into her own to pick up her table and kit.
"Ready?"
