Ramsey's Gallery of Fine Art

The two story ice blue victorian replica sat on the artsy end of the strip. Amid a few antique shops, one Asian artifact gallery and several other art galleries. The whole structure was the art gallery. Inside there were two main downstairs rooms, painted in tastefull creamy gray and lit appropriatly, at the artwork. There was one sweeping staircase that led upstairs to three private showing rooms and an office. Each floor had restrooms, 3 stalls each, done with a pale blue and cream floral paper and cream beadboard.

In the downstairs there was the sunset room, with soft periwinkle fainting couches and even a few arm chairs. The other downstairs room displayed the sunrises with benches of pale pine with soft natural toned silk cusions. There were small tables in both rooms, in the pale pine, discretely placed about with glass tops for people to place their drinks upon.

The stairwell held a reception area, coat closet and fine silk wall coverings in an ancient smokey gray. There was a pine bench and blue armchair as well as some sculpture set on the blocks placed about or attached to the wall for smaller pieces.

Up the stairs lead to a small hallway in the same silken gray that lead to six doors in a small landing area. The bathrooms were clearly marked but the other rooms had doors flung wide open for the event. One housed the darker paintings on its eggplant toned walls. The dark grey striped room held barely a dozen moonscapes. The last showing room held scenes from Nachton on its creamy walls with beadboard base. The office was just that, desk, chairs and a few tables.

Plants were strewn about and hanging from ceilings but never obscuring the paintings. The light pine floors gleamed with polish but the stairs had a pale gray carpet runner.

There was a black velvet rope cordoning off the gallery but the sign outside proudly announced the Galla Black Tie event of the Opening of the Showing of Nyra McGurn at 7:30pm.

"Facinating town history, I didnt know that. Thank you!"

Nyra looked at the younger people around her. They sure seemed much more experienced, almost jaded, for their years. Perhaps that was just her own naivte showing but she wished better for them. Surpressing any sigh in lament of lost youth she smiled widely up at them all.

"It has been my pleasure to meet you all. Please feel free to give me a call about your purchases or commissions if you would like them. Of course, I am always available if you ever want to talk art without the snooty attitude as well."

Genuinely happy to have met real people instead of the fake kind that seemed here in abundance she wished them well. Hopefully they could visit again sometime. She suddenly remembered the post show party Bertrand had scheduled.

"Oh, if your interested there will be a post show party, on next Saturday, if you would like to attend. Less pretentious than this thankfully, by invitation only. Just bring my card to show the doorman if you wish to attend. Its just a casual party to celebrate the week."

Connie had hovered for the last few minutes, only bits and pieces of the conversation with the four art-appreciative folks catching her ears. Mostly though she was enjoying the sunrise pieces. Bertrand walked by with the invoices, and noted her selections...

Reach, Duality Three, Next Time... She giggled but quickly stifled it, picturing that piece... Sailing.

Her apartment would definately be enhanced by their addition.

She wandered by the group of five again as Nyra was mentioning the after-party.

Amby nodded slightly at Jan. Turning to Nyra, she inclined her head and smiled at the artist warmly. It was a pleasure meeting you, Nyra. Enjoy the city, it has some interesting night life. Oh, and I will contact you soon to see about a comission, just don't let anyone book you up too much! Winking at Xerxes with a grin she added, And that means you Mister!

Nodding at Bertrand as she passed by, the blonde headed for the door after Jan. 'Have to remember to show Nova the Aston. Maybe she'll have some suggestions for tweaks, well probably not until after she races me. heh'

((OOC out when Jan and Nova are ready..))

Nova smirked at Xerxes's response, which fooled no one save perhaps the human artist. She wondered vaguely how long, exactly, he had lived, before giving up on it as a moot point.

She gave Jan a mock pout when he suggested they take their leave.

"Aw, I wanted to get more beauty tips!"Â?

She snorted at that thought and pushed a strand of hair out of her eyes. She would rather pull out her own nosehairs than read a fashion magazine and considered smearing what was essentially animal fat and chemicals on one's face to be a waste of time. Hell, her -brother- wore more makeup than she did, though she never commented on it.

She let the others say their goodbyes, giving the artist a genuine smile. At the mention of a party she grinned, thinking she might enjoy that.

"Thanks for the show, this was a lot of fun."Â? She smiled up at Amberelle. "Yeah, join us, I bet I can get us into some trouble. And it would be cool to see your car."Â?

Bertrand stood next to the doorway as the trio left his artist. He was smiling widely though no longer bouncing. What an excellent night this was! Only two hours left of the party but he had already hit his expected take for the evening. These three had sent it over the top, making Bertrand a very happy man.

"Have a wonderfull evening you three! Please come back to Ramsey's anytime! Anytime."

Nodding and holding open the door he was pleased with the outcome of that meeting. They had purchased which benefitted him, commissions that did not go through his gallery didnt, but if they liked Miss Nyra's work maybe they would come back again.

Glancing out at the darkness he wondered if the waitstaff had prepared enough coffee and afterdinner-type drinks or if anyone had straightened up the bathrooms in the past hour. Never once did his jovial expression falter as the mundane tasks flittered through his head. With a week left of dedicated show time, a post show party then having at least half a dozen of the young lady's work here, should turn out to be quite profitable. He was so very glad the gallery owner had suggested Miss McGurn. Very glad.

Nyra watched the trio leave, quite happy with the evening. Turning her attention to Xerxes she smiled up at the man.

"Would you like to set up a time to meet and discuss what kind of painting you wanted or do you think we can fit it in this evening?"

Xerxes watched the trio go and decided he liked them, though they predicatbly understimated him. He shook is head mentally, 'become what one wants to see and your disguise is flawless' he recalled the teachings of man he had once apprenticed.

He glanced at his watch, silver and elegant. It's center was dominated by a digital display of the time that was both stylish and functional.

"Hrrm, it is getting a bit late and I have much still left to do before I go to bed. Perhaps next week sometime, after your party is finished and you have had some time to organize yourself?"

He smiled gently at the artist and awaited her response.
Nyra 19 years ago
"Yes, I should have time all this week and next. Thankfully Mr. Bertrand is not insisting I be here every night." Smiling warmly she handed him her business card. "Please give me a call anytime to set up a meeting."

It had been such a wonderful evening, meeting so many new people and even some that appreciated her art for itself. Was always heartwarming to an artist.

Xerxes nodded apologetically, "Yes, sorry I don't have the time now, other things have been stealing my attention." He smiled politely but seemed suddenly distant as if accentuating his point.

He took the card and his leave and moved silently through the crowd. Other patrons seemed to clear his path and he exited without any real notice, or explanation.

((Xerxes Out, sorry bout taking so long))
Bertrand 19 years ago
Bertrand looked around the empty gallery with pride. The event had been a smash success. At 11pm he had promptly placed the artist and her friend in their car and sent them on their way. Miss McGurn had done wonderfully, polite, modest and happy to offer a wide array of her skills.

He was tired but still had work to do. The floor got swept, kitchen straightened and bathrooms scrubbed all while he organized the invoices and shipping information for the sales. Tomorrow he would make sure that each buyer received their artwork promptly and properly.

The week should be just as profitable.

((OOC: Sok Xerxes! Thanks for playing. Everyone's out! Permission granted to boot out Connie & Nyra. Please lock thread.))
