Party Time?
It certainly was a good thing Fallon didn't work weekends. As it was, it seemed to be taking an inordinately long time to get everything organized for her dinner Wednesday night.
Having set one of the bags on the porch chair, while she unlocked the front door and went inside to put down the other three bags, she returned to the porch and grabbed it now. Then she realized the bag held things that she had bought for the porch, so she set it back down. She would deal with that project later.
For about the fifth time tonight, she wished she had asked Aishe if she wanted to help, but for the fifth time tonight she agreed that it wouldn't have been much of a treat for Aishe if she helped put it together.
No, Fallon was bound and determined to do this on her own, and suffer the consequences.
So far she had received three RSVPs, the sweetest having been Ana's. Such a nice message to leave on her voice mail. But there was still time, and if it turned out there would only be three others, that would still be three more at a party than she'd ever had before.
Noticing she was still standing on the front porch, Fallon laughed before turning and going back inside.
Once she had put the food away, certain she had enough for a house full of frat boys, she gathered all the candles together on the table, and then set out to distribute them through the house. Thinking they would make her house more festive, with spending the smallest amount of money, she had bought many. And they were all in complimenting scents. With winter still upon them in Nachton, Fallon had gone with comfort scents...cinnamon, apple pie, and vanilla. She now just hoped having the house smell like baked goodies wouldn't be offensive to anyone.
Taking the small stack of papers from her purse, she set them inside her bar. She had devised a list of items for the scavenger hunt, and had them printed up. Now she just had to remember where they were, and hope everyone would have fun playing.
Tucking the folded paper bags from her shopping under her kitchen sink, Fallon poured herself a glass of white zin, and went to sit on the porch. The night air was still crisp, but not as biting as it had been the past few nights. Setting her wine glass down, she took the other batch of candles out of the bag on the porch, and the little tin covers, and scattered them around. Some went on the railing, some went along the steps, and some were hung from hooks the prior tenants had left in the porch ceiling. Fallon took the long lighter from the bag, lit all the outside candles, and smiled. It did look very party like, and though it was a small effort, it made her feel a lot better about how things were going to go...or how she hoped they would.
She felt an arm slide around her waist, and then Fallon was sitting close to her, their legs barely touching. The other woman - no, the vampire, her brain told her; the woman was supressed right now while the vampire fed - the vampire got so close, so very close. Ana felt a gentle kiss at the corner of her mouth, and she would have turned into it, so tender, so very soft and inquisitive, but those plush lips moved down her jaw to her neck. Forcing herself not to shiver at the tickling caress across her featherlight scars, she held perfectly still. "That feels so good," something inside her said, as a flare of heat and a pinch deep inside tugged at her awareness.
Her thoughts stopped when she felt something sharp at her neck; instinctual panic grabbed her minutely, until something close to pure happy-excitement-bounce on the tips of your toes because it's just so -cool- welled up inside her, originating at the spot where Fallon's gentle lips but now pointy fangs had bitten. Ana had never felt anything like it. Any doubts she'd had had disappeared the first time Fallon had apologized and declined, so her brain and body were free to concentrate on the strange and yet amazing feeling of warmth gushing throughout. Stars sparkled in her closed eyes and she felt her chest heaving, nearly gasping for breath as if she'd run up all seven flights of stairs to her door. She wasn't quite sure she wanted it to stop... Her free hand rose to the back of Fallon's head, insinuating fingers in her wonderful tresses, as a soft moan purred in her throat.
Being so afraid of ever doing to anyone, what Panos had done to her, Fallon's mind came into focus just as soon as the hunger had been appeased. Sure, she would have liked nothing more than to have stuffed herself with the sweetness that was Ana, but it wasn't necessary.
Having achieved more pleasure herself, than she had ever felt before with a simple feeding, Fallon withdrew her fangs, and lovingly licked Ana's neck a bit longer. Feeling Ana's body soft and giving, Fallon sat back against the couch and shifted Ana around, and pulled her onto Fallon's lap, never letting the embrace loosen.
Kissing Ana a few more times on her neck, making sure the bite was closing and not seeping, and also cleaning up any traces of blood, Fallon kissed the girl's forehead, and hugged her tighter. Without thinking, Fallon even began rocking gently on the couch, with Ana in her arms.
Oh, wait, she was being actually moved, and felt a hug, then felt herself rocking. She felt warm and comforted; safe and satisfied as if she'd just given someone an awesome, unexpected birthday present or helped someone without asking. Lightheadedness started to creep into her consciousness. Her toes tingled; some other previously un-noticed parts of her body felt almost as if they were on fire.
She sighed lightly, rocking gently in Fallon's arms.
Being that the apartment was basically one room, Fallon had seen the bed, and knew she had to reach it now. Having fed, Fallon was slightly stronger than normal, which was even still slightly stronger than she had been as a human. Holding Ana to her, she scutched off the couch and stood, holding Ana in her arms. Moving quickly, and deliberately, Fallon had only a few feet to cross before she was able to lay Ana onto the bed. Reaching over the prone girl, Fallon pulled back the covers, and then rolled Ana to the other side of the bed. Climbing on next to her, Fallon swiftly pulled the girls tank top off, and only stopped for a heartbeat when she saw the girl had no bra on. But on to removing Ana's jeans, holding onto the tops of her panties so they didn't follow. When the jeans were off, Fallon laid them across the end of the bed with Ana's tank, and quickly removed her own clothes, leaving on her panties as well.
Fallon was now totally on instinct and habit, as she settled herself under the covers as well, and without thinking pulled Ana against the front of her, spooning her close.
"I hope this is ok..."
Not that it much mattered to Fallon now...for she was falling asleep as she spoke. She did have one last fleeting thought.
"Thank you, Ana...for everything."
