Breaking the Ice

Alfarinn sat in the Tower Lounge nursing a glass of white wine. It was rarely his drink of choice but tonight that was what he was in the mood for. Perhaps it was the warmer weather or maybe Crispin's happier mood brought out the romantic in him.

He thought of his own blond with a wistful sigh, wishing Thaddeus was next to him, gloved hand entwined with his. At least he could mentally and emotionally reach out and touch his partner. Alfarinn did so, careful not to disturb his lover's concentration. Comforted by the familiar feel of Thaddeus's focused and organized thoughts while he was working on something requiring his full attention, he returned his thoughts to Nachton.

This significant other of Cris's intrigued him. Alfarinn watched the people moving to and fro in the lobby and wondered how the two of them met. He knew that the man was a vampire and a clan mate and that made him wonder how he had not come up against the frosty distance that Cris normally erected whenever someone from their own people managed to evoke anything more than friendship from the Security Chief. No matter how it happened, he was very glad that it had. It was long over due.

Alfarinn nodded to Cris and gave him a small smile in acknowledgment to what he had said. Turning to Rowan, he nodded. "Yes, I think so. At least I know Crystal's boss has expressed his great appreciation for Crystal's hard work and dedication to me. Not only that, he considers her a very good friend. Speaking of such things, I, myself, know Crystal fairly well. Perhaps I'll tell you some stories later." He smiled pleasantly at Crystal before raising his eyebrows at Rowan. "I have a lot of them."

"Yes, Nic went along with all the teasing and took it very well. Its a good survival trait to have around here." He grinned about Grisha. Alfarinn really liked the old man; he didn't entirely trust that the ancient was simply harmlessly grouchy and interested in nothing but filling his nights with dusty tomes and book sales. Crispin was proof that Grisha was a good judge of character, very patient and quite calculating. The old man, who had been a vampire a long time before he made Cris, had survived as clanless for a very long time. In a world where one slip up would cost him his life with no fear of reprisal for the ones who took it, that meant he was smarter than the average vampire, by far. Harmless book store owner, his shiny pale ass. "That may very well be the case. I can't imagine why else he'd bother to put up with us."

Their food arrived and he smiled up at the waiter as his salad was placed down in front of him. Then he turned back to the others.

"So what are the plans for this evening? If I may ask."

[If I wanted you to stop then I would stop sending to you.] Crystal squeezed the leg beneath her hand in reassurance. [I know you're torturing yourself as well, trust me, I felt it just a moment ago. Its not the same as having your cock unrestrained and in my hand so that I can stroke you until you come. I like feeling you, hard and pulsing, your cum warm on my hand...but that will happen soon I imagine.] Crystal squirmed a bit in her seat, uncrossing her legs and sitting up straighter and tried to turn her thoughts to other things.

She smiled at Alfarinn's kind words but that quickly changed to a different expression as an offer for a tell all session was placed on the table. Crystal narrowed her eyes at him; there was no use trying to blackmail him in return. Alfarinn's exploits wouldn't matter much to Rowan and the man had probably already proudly told any good stories to Thaddeus. Alfarinn had no shame.

The good doctor's recommendation received a long suffering inner sigh as a response. [So, there's no cure. I'm...going to have to live with this... for the rest of my life?] A quavering sniffle was sent and then [That makes me so relieved! Thank you, Doctor...but I do hope you will continue to care for me. I...don't think I could endure this situation all alone...]

[I am not sure how much longer I can keep my hands off of you but perhaps we should try to get through dinner first, after that I don't believe you are making it out of the Towers before I've had my way with you at least once more.]

As if by magic, or the fervent wish of his horny mind, their food arrived. Crystal unfolded the napkin and carefully placed it across her dress. She did her best to slowly cut the chicken and actually taste it before swallowing. [So I am not robbing the cradle, just the grammar school. I can live with that. I think you'd look hot in a uniform.]

"Would you believe we're going to a book club meeting?"

It was Rowan's turn to send back a moan of pleasure at Cris's provocative sending. [And you know just how to stroke me perfectly. Every time. I have to say though, the sight of your mouth around me, the feel of your hot tongue licking me... you slay me, Cris. I need you so badly right now I'm about to be incredibly rude. I'm begging you to fuck me. Hard. Deep. Right here. What have you done to me?] It was his turn to ask; they seemed to go in rounds.

In the meantime Rowan attempted to follow the conversation. He raised one eyebrow at Alfarinn.
"Do you now?" He drawled. "I think we should compare stories some time. You may have more than I, but I believe I have a few good ones."

He saw Crystal's narrow-eyed expression and laughed, squeezing the hand upon his leg.
"Surely we get to have a little fun?"

[I will care for you,] Rowan sent in all seriousness. [As long as you want me, as long as you need me, Cris. If that is forever, you have forever.]

He almost groaned as dinner arrived but the teasing continued. [Dinner... there's only one thing I want in my mouth at this moment and it's you. I want to taste you. Your lips, your skin, every part of you. I want to drink you in. I want you to watch me with my mouth on you, swallowing you whole, playing with your balls while you come in my throat.]

Yeah, dinner wasn't helping much. Rowan looked at it and gave it a long-suffering sigh. He carefully forked a small bite into his mouth, hardly tasting the tender scallops. The rich creamy alfredo sauce did absolutely nothing to help his state of mind.

[Hardly, dear one,] he sent with amusement. [Sophomore to your senior, perhaps. You aren't -that- far ahead of me.]

He nearly choked on a scallop at Cris's book club comment. He washed it down with a healthy swallow of martini and cleared his throat.
"Right. The book club. Jane Austen."

Alfarinn speared the lettuce on his fork happily, giving christian a smug look and Rowan a pleased grin. "Yes, definitely. Why I've known Crystal here for so long that it almost seems like...centuries." Popping a piece of apple in his mouth, he smiled. "There has to be one or two stories in there somewhere. She paints the straight laced picture so well at work but I know she likes to let loose now and then."

"Why this one time, in Vienna..." A sharp kick from a high heeled shoe struck him in the shin and interrupted his story. Alfarinn sat up a little straighter, chuckling to himself. "I'll talk to you about it later."

Taking a few more bites of his salad, he paused and looked at the two of them. "Book club, hmm? Jane Austen... I always liked her work. Perhaps I can join this Book Club."

He looked from one of them to the other, raising his eyebrows at Rowan when the man stared down at his Alfredo. "Does it not look appetizing?"

At Rowan's very clear, very provocative sending, Crystal's hand clutched her partner's leg in a vice grip. She couldn't send anything back for a long moment while trying to master the urge not do something right this very moment about that particular vividly stated request.

Alfarinn diverted her attention by mentioning Vienna before he could get any further with that story, Crystal kicked him hard in the shin. Her friend, of course, volunteered to tell the rest of the tale at a later time. Right, so how to smuggle Rowan out of the country before that happened... Perhaps they will have to go on that vacation very soon.

[Forever sounds nice.] Cris echoed the words he had said before. [I need you at least that long.]

Their food arrived and while she sorted out her napkin and began cutting her chicken into small dainty pieces, Rowan seemed to have other ideas about dinner. The fork seemed to slip from her fingers to clatter noisily on the plate. [I do love watching you take me in like that, swallowing me whole. You are so good...I think I could come just thinking about it.]

Alfarinn asked if he could join their book club and Crystal chuckled. "We're getting a head start on it actually but if you'd like to read Pride, Prejudice and Zombies, I hear that it is highly recommended."

Her friend then looked over at Rowan and asked if the Alfredo did not look appetizing. Regarding her lover's plate thoughtfully, while knowing their particular private conversation, left very little doubt about why Rowan would be giving his food that tormented sigh. Crystal retrieved her fork again and leaned over to her partner's plate. Picking up a creamy noodle, she stuck it in her mouth, slowly sucking it inside, watching Rowan as she did so. Licking the creamy sauce slowly from her lips, she gave him a sultry smile. "I can't imagine. Personally I think it tastes amazing."

Rowan was pleased at the hard grip on his leg. He knew he was having an effect on Cris but it was arousing to know just how much that was. When no response was forthcoming he guessed it wasn't because it was unwanted, as their previous exchange had divulged, but because Cris was having as much trouble keeping himself under control as Rowan currently was.

Alfarinn's near-story was met with a rather enthusiastic kick from Crystal. Rowan didn't miss it. He felt Crystal move, heard the impact of foot against leg. He grinned at Alfarinn, nodded, and turned back to Cris.
"You realize this means I'm only going to look forward to hearing this story that much more."

[Forever it is,] he sent to Cris. He would keep saying it until Cris believed it and enough time had passed for it to seem plausible. The idea of a lifetime, or several lifetimes, by Cris's side, was a happy one to Rowan.

He smiled a little when his rather graphic sending caused Crystal to drop her fork. Rowan heard the strain in Cris's voice at the return sending. He wasn't sure his jeans could feel any tighter but apparently, they could. [You had better not,] he warned playfully. [Save it for me. I wouldn't want you to waste it thinking about my mouth on you when, not long from now, you could be watching it yourself, burying your hands in my hair while you thrust yourself against my tongue and I suck you dry, lick you clean of every last drop.]

In light of Cris's warning about thinking about it too hard that might have been a cruel tease... but Rowan stopped feeling bad about it when Crystal slowly sucked a piece of fettucine from his plate into her mouth, past her tempting lips. Rowan stared at her for a moment, his eyes widening minutely, and then he turned back to Alfarinn and said cheerfully,
"It looks incredibly appetizing. In fact I think it might be my favorite dish."

He took another bite and tried to ignore the fact that the seam over the zipper of his jeans was engraving an impression on him thanks to lack of room. He shot a sideways glance at Cris, somewhat desperate, almost pleading, from beneath half-lowered lids so that perhaps Alfarinn wouldn't see the tormented expression.

Crystal made no comment about the story or the eventual telling of it; she glowered first as one and then the other. It was actually not so bad but if she didn't make a scene over this tale then Alfarinn might have a chance to think up something even worse.

Rowan's sending added more details to the imagery, and, oddly enough considering the topic of conversation, had the interesting effect of making it difficult to swallow her piece of chicken. In the end though, it was that tormented glance beneath long lashes that made up Cris's mind.

[Alfarinn would you be so kind as to ask the waiter to put this in to go boxes.] Crystal smiled at her friend and then glanced at Rowan, the meaning was plain enough, he was certain. [We will have to join you again some time soon.] Perhaps they could invite the elder to the next drinking game. He should meet Eiryk and Alex; he would like them.

Standing up, Crystal smiled. "I think I forgot something in the apartment. Can you please excuse us both."

Bending down to Rowan's ear, it was Cris's own voice that fairly growled in a husky tone. "You, come with me."

She reached down and took her partner by the hand to lead him back across the lobby.

Laughing at Crystal's somewhat provocative display and Rowan's cheerful response, he said. "I think even I might have more of an appreciation for it than I did a minute ago."

Alfarinn watched the exchange of glances back and forth between the couple across from him. He was no stranger to either young love or silent conversations. Smiling with amusement, he sent back to Cris.[Don't worry about it, go, enjoy yourselves. I'll have him put them in fridge here for you. Just remember this means you owe me dinner. ]

Turning to the redhead, he smiled. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Rowan. I look forward to seeing you again."

He shooed them both with a wave of his hand. Picking up his wine again, Alfarinn raised it to them in farewell. "You kids have fun."
