A Morning Visit (attn: Evan)
Kiyoshi jogged quietly up the stairs outside the club which led to the upper floor where the administrative offices used to be when Terminus had actually been an airport. Kiyo knew they had been converted into a living area but he'd never been inside. This, though, was where he'd been offered a crash space if he needed one.
He hiked his sleeping bag up on his shoulder and debated. He could just lay out under the stars. He didn't really want to bother Evan. He'd had a nice time talking with Tavi but he couldn't completely explain what it was about the Pack housing that made him uncomfortable. He enjoyed Evan's company and didn't feel like he was constantly watching his back with the vampire.
Ironic, he knew.
Kiyo took a deep breath and knocked softly on the door. Then, realizing just how much space was inside, he swallowed and knocked again harder.
He sort of wanted to run away and hide before Evan opened the door but he didn't. He stood there and waited. Maybe Evan wouldn't have heard him... then he could say he'd tried. But he realized, as he tapped on the door once more, he actually wanted to talk to Evan.
He smiled as Kiyoshi pronounced his name. Laughing, Evan explained. "Oh yes, it means 'of the mysterious voice' more or less." It should come as no surprise that his name had something to do with talking. He chuckled even more as Kiyoshi explained what his own moniker meant. "Hmm, I would say most of the time it is still accurate..." Evan leaned forward and nibbled gentle on one of Kiyo's collarbones, sliding his hands up his lover's thighs and then up his chest. "But not always...and I very much like that." Evan murmured softly, his lips still against Kiyo's skin.
"Call me Evan." He smiled. "Or anything you like but Evan is definitely easier to moan..."Grinning mischievously he raised his eyebrows. "Don't you think?" He placed his hands on Kiyo's hips and pulled him closer, tight against his chest. "I'd like to hear you do that again before we need to head downstairs so we should probably make quick work of the rest of this shower." It would definitely put a damper on whatever sexual activity they might be in the middle of if the water turned cold on them.
Picking up the soap, Evan looked down at Kiyo in his lap. "I believe there were a few places I missed." He then set about washing the lower half of his companion, starting with his legs and moving downward and then coming back up to gently but thoroughly wash more intimate places with perhaps more stroking and fondling than was strictly necessary. Evan then picked up the shower head and rinsed his sudsy partner off with the warm spray.
"There, all clean."
"You're Evan," he said solemnly. "You're you and I want you to stay you all the time."
His smile didn't diminish when Evan told him the meaning of his name. "Mysterious? I don't know about all of that." He held the water spray back up to Evan's hair to rinse it. He didn't think Evan was terribly mysterious. Handsome. Sexy, for sure. Kind and generous to a fault. Sociable. Everything wonderful that Kiyo was not.
"Okay. Evan," Kiyo nodded, "but I like Howahkan too. It's who you are."
He nodded mutely in agreement as Evan suggested they finish showering. He couldn't really speak; being pulled so tightly against Evan's chest was so nice. He let go of the shower head to wrap his arms back around Evan's neck, pressing against him, raising his eyebrows as Evan picked up the soap.
Evan didn't necessarily make 'quick' work of the rest of the shower, but Kiyo wasn't about to complain. He didn't like turning the steamy water off, however. As he wrapped himself up in his towel his teeth were already chattering. This was his least favorite part of any shower or bath; getting out and trying to readjust to the air temperature. He made quick work of toweling off the drips of water as well as soaking it up from his wet hair but within a minute or two he had turned to Evan, pressed a quick kiss to the taller man's lips, and dashed for Evan's bed, where he literally dove under the covers and huddled up, shivering, waiting hopefully for his partner to come and warm him up.
Peeking out over the covers he did his best to leave Evan an opening to join him, but it was somewhat difficult when he was wrapped up in such a cocoon.
He humphed at the talk of his name. "I can be very mysterious." He said with a mock sulk.
They finished the shower fairly quickly and Kiyoshi dried himself off with even greater haste. Evan took longer, wringing the water from his hair and settling the towel down on the rack to dry before walking into the other room.
A smile spread across his face as he regarded the lump beneath the mound of covers on his bed. He could just make out a pair of almond shaped eyes. Climbing up onto the bed, Evan slid under the covers and then wound his hand beneath the layers until he found the werewolf. He moved over and at the same time pulled Kiyo on top of him.
"Here, I will warm you back up, Little Wolf."
He was too selfish, though. What he should do was tell Evan he'd made a mistake. Tell him he couldn't be involved, that he was too afraid of his Pack, or that he didn't like Evan that much... any lie to keep the vampire away. And then he should pack up and move. Again.
But he liked it here. And he liked Evan... so very much. Kiyo had friends for the first time, people who were okay with who he was and didn't feel the strange urge to dominate him. It would be all right if he just kept it very quiet. Like all things, Kiyo would hide Evan away. At least any personal feelings he had for him. He was used to doing that. Like a treasured possession his feelings could only come out at the right times and in the right places. That was life. It didn't bother him.
Kiyo watched Evan wide-eyed as he walked across the room. The sight of the vampire took his breath away. He was so tall, so beautiful, muscular and lithe and believably inhuman... no mortal could be that gorgeous. Inside and out. And then he was there and Kiyo jumped as Evan's weight on the bed brought reality down on his head like a landslide. Kiyoshi gasped softly as Evan joined him under the covers and easily pulled Kiyo on top of him.
Kiyo drew the covers up over both of their heads, creating a little cave for them. Lying atop Evan's muscular frame he rested his chin on Evan's chest and watched him quietly with bright eyes. He liked the nickname Evan had apparently decided on for him. It didn't feel condescending; compared to Evan he was little. In stature, in age, in every way. But Evan didn't hold it over him. Instead Kiyo felt bolstered by Evan's presence, protected and warmed.
"Evan," he said softly, "If your kind decide to come after me, will I know about it?"
He regarded Evan solemnly. "Will they let me... say goodbye?"
Kiyo wanted to know what they would do to him. Although, really, the answer didn't much matter. It wasn't going to change his feelings. It wasn't going to change what he wanted. But if they would let him see Evan before anything bad happened, Kiyo would like it. If something like that happened, he wanted Evan to know he was all right. Kiyo wanted to be here, no matter what the consequences.
His hands stopped moving at Kiyo's question and pressed the werewolf tighter to his chest in protective possessiveness. "I don't know." Evan spoke quietly. It seemed unlikely that they would offer any final request or visitation rights. He sighed softly, brushing his fingers through Kiyo's damp hair. He would like to be glib and confident and say nothing would go wrong and that they would never find his werewolf lover but he owed Kiyoshi the truth. The truth was that his clan hated werewolves, perhaps even feared them, and they would not be pleased to know that he was seeing one.
A part of him said that he should stop this folly now before something bad did happen. However, the hard truth was that werewolves had broken their treaty by coming in mass to the cities and remaining there. It was only a matter of time before Anantya decided to do something about it. Evan could hope that they might take a more practical, less warlike approach but the truth was that his proud clan did not take being ignored very lightly. Kiyoshi was not safe as long as he was in the city, whether he dated Evan or not. His werewolf might be better off than most. Evan was not above hiding Kiyoshi away somewhere outside of the city if Anantya chose to go to war with the werewolves once more.
"I won't let that happen." He held Kiyo to him wearing a fiercely stubborn expression.
Evan's vehemence took Kiyoshi aback a little bit, not because of the fierceness of it, really, but because he thought it might have been the first time in his life someone had spoken so protectively of him. He shivered. It had to be too good to be true, hadn't it?
Kiyo lowered his head and did his best to gently kiss the fierceness from Evan's lips. If that led to another, and that one led to another, well, that was just a pleasant happenstance. Kiyo wasn't about to demand more loving. He couldn't; he wouldn't know how to begin. But as it turned out he discovered if he kissed Evan enough, in enough places, with just the right pleasant combination of sucking and nibbling and stroking, then loving would definitely happen.
In fact, it happened a few more times before the clock drove them out from under the completely tumbled covers and down to work in spite of what appeared to be a mutual preference to remain in the bedroom. Once there Kiyo found he was, indeed, able to perform up to his usual standards. He knew it was imperative to hide his feelings, and he was very used to doing that. It hurt, though, to give Evan no more regard than he would his boss and friend, and receive only the same in return. What he really wanted was to be held again, to be tenderly loved again, and to be told how special and how precious he was.
Well... he would have at least one more morning with Evan for that to happen. Only this time he dared to hope for a time to come when he might actually stop counting it in terms of the passage of hours and days, and look forward to something slightly more permanent. Maybe it was just a pipe dream. There seemed to be a lot of potential opposition... but Kiyo was willing to try it if Evan was.
He didn't drop a single bottle or glass; he would just have to make sure he didn't drop any when he wasn't at work either.
