Catching Up

Between classes and his job and more or less avoiding the Pack Navid hadn't seen as much of his cousin as he would like. As he should have. He had been sent here after all to keep an eye on her, to make sure she wasn't causing trouble. That fact that she was had made things difficult, but he'd stayed to make sure things didn't get out of hand.

So far things withing the Pack had been calm enough, there had been the occasional spot of trouble mostly directed at his cousin but nothing overt or ground shaking and nothing she hadn't handled well enough. At least, nothing he'd seen or heard about had been bad but if Guillaume were totally honest he knew that he'd been avoiding not just the Pack but Thérèse as well.

Even so, he'd slowly started to notice this was not the Thérèse he knew. She wasn't as open with those she didn't know. She was less eager to seek out new acquaintances, she didn't go out into the city at night. In fact, she was more often than not back to Shady Pines before sun down. It was all quite odd.

This evening though he'd persuaded her to met him at Terminus. After all, she'd never actually been inside. Guillaume had been out and about making himself useful here and there when Thérèse walked in and he had to laugh, he doubted Thérèse knew what a geek was as she was certainly more dressed for the night club aspect of Terminus that the gaming.

Excusing himself from the busy work he'd invented he greeted her.

"Bonsoir cousine." He quickly and familiarly kissed each of her cheeks "Vouliez-vous le grand tour?"

Kiyo remained quiet throughout the game, although he did turn to Lyn with wide eyes when she suggested blowing off steam by punching Evan and Guillaume look-alikes. He turned his eyes, like saucers, onto Guillaume, and vehemently shook his head with a slight expression of panic lest Guillaume think he'd actually suggested such a thing. Fortunately no one but him seemed to take it seriously.

He spoke softly to Lyn, of course, snuggling her whenever he could, and Tavi as well, who received more than a few hugs over the course of the game. Kiyo was growing more comfortable with Guillaume but he did not try to make any more jokes. Not with Therese there. He still hadn't managed to look her in the eye as he game progressed.

He did, however, continue to bowl the same as he had whenever his turn came up, scuttling up to the monitor, bowling a strike, and then hurrying away again. The others, obviously not knowing Lyn was Evan, were trailing behind in the scoring by the end and Kiy and Lyn were the clear winners. Tavi came next, then Guillaume, with Therese at the back. Kiyo cringed inwardly at that but it wasn't his fault.

Okay, he had bowled a lot of strikes. So it sort of was his fault... but he had accomplices.

When the game was over he remained to the side, not involving himself in further conversation. He wrapped his arms around Lyn's waist and laid his head on her shoulder while he quietly waited to see if the others wanted another game. If Tavi hadn't been around he'd have dragged Lyn away but Tavi was there and Kiyo liked spending time with her, so he just tried to be as unobtrusive as possible.

Navid couldn't help but laugh as Kiyo denied wanted to punch him, or a mii version of him. He didn't believe that for a second. Kiyo and Guillaume some times had trouble relating to each other. Tonight was one of the best they'd managed.

The game went by quite quickly with his cousin losing quite convincingly. Not surprisingly she made her excuses as soon as the game was over. He'd offered to drive her home but she rather adamantly turned him down. She, apparently had not forgotten, that he was in business with a vampire and had neglected to tell her. The rejection stung a bit, but he understood. At least she was polite as she left and with any luck it would relax Kiyoshi some.

"A rather impressive effort sir... well both of you really."

He complimented Kiyo on his win.

"And perhaps another bottle of wine or the promise of one will keep this from getting back to Evan?"

Navid asked Tavi with as much sincerity and innocence he could manage. It would certainly get back to his business partner sooner or later. Honestly, it wouldn't hurt his ego that much.

Tavi was not sure she should stay longer than Therese, perhaps she should accompany the woman home. Of course, Tavi wasn't who Therese wanted to spend time with and so she let her friend go on alone. Therese probably needed all the comforting snuggle time she could get. Her father and snuggle time... It still sounded weird to her. Good, but weird.

She wanted to play and chat some more with Kiyoshi and to get to know Guillaume a bit better; she hadn't seen Kiyo around Shady Pines in a while and she didn't know Therese's cousin at all. She sent her father a quick text telling him that Therese was on the way to Shady Pines so that he knew when to expect her arrival. If for some reason Therese didn't show up then there would likely be a whole pack of wolves out looking for her. Of course there were already ones following her so it should be a short search.

She did take Guillaume aside during one of their games and ask if he would be willing to talk to her privately some time soon. Tavi didn't want to do it this night because she knew very little. She would go hound some Legionnaires until she had the whole story and then she would come talk to Therese's cousin. The woman was in trouble and her family should know.

Perhaps she should tell her dad about her plans first. Nah, that sounded responsible or something.

Lyn turned out to be very cheerful and funny. The conversation went much smoother when there was not two people unwilling to speak to each other in the middle of it. Kiyoshi once more felt comfortable enough to talk and joke with the rest of them. Lyn found some more Pie and shared it with Tavi, claiming Kiyoshi wasn't allowed to have any more. She asked the waitress to bring her boyfriend a nice glass of apple juice with a couple of cinnamon sticks.

In the end, Lyn was only teasing him, or perhaps only partially. She did seem very concerned about Kiyoshi's welfare which was sweet. Together they all drank the Pie and Lyn helped Kiyo with the apple juice as well. Tavi noticed that Lyn did not drink very much of either. The girl was perhaps a little buzzed but by the time they finished playing it had likely worn off. Good, she didn't want the girl driving home drunk.

She eventually parted ways with the three of them and went home, determined to find some answers tomorrow. There was no way to keep information from her for long. She had ways of finding answers. It was something she prided herself on.
